Jul 26, 2011ISP: CharterType: CableRouters: Belkin N150 & Linksys E1200Devices: Laptop, ipad, desktop w/wireless card, hardwired desktopI had random issues with the Belkin router. I was able to hard-wire connect via the router but very randomly my wifi signal would go out and I would be completely unable to connect to the router on any device. Now I am having the exact same issues with my new Linksys router.Sometimes the wifi works and others I get "Unable to connect to network" or "Unable to join network". I have not yet noticed a pattern.Here are the things I have tried:
* Replace router with new router
* Remove encryption
* Change encryption types
* Restart both cable modem & router
* Factory reset of router
* Changed Channels
* Reboot of router from http://192.168.1.1 interface than mine) are all called 2WIRE490 and 2WIRE593.
Hamachi Doesn't Create Or Join Network
Mar 13, 2011I've been trying to get it to work all day.When I open up Hamachi it shows the main screen with two buttons. Create a new network and Join an existing network.I've tried both but when I click create or join it doesn't do anything. Like it actually does nothing at all.Doesn't even close the window.Everything stays open and it doesn't either create or join any networks.

May 6, 2013I have configured a 1552, that is wired to network, as "Bridge" then "RootAP".
After reboot, I can see a MAP trying to join the network, in the "simple" logs of the controller :
"Mon May 6 17:29:43 2013 Mesh Node '04:da:d2:1f:4d:6f' failed to join controller, MAC address not in MAC filter list."
As I have done for the RAP, I enter this MAC address in the MAC Filtering area under Security tab. But this action doesn't solve the problem, I continue to see this message in the controller logs !
If I open a SSH session on the RAP, I can see this block of debug messages repeat all the time :

When I take a look into detailled debug messages of the controller I can see this :
*spamReceiveTask: May 06 17:30:44.364: #LWAPP-6-RADIUS_AUTHORIZATION: spam_radius.c:242 The system could not send join reply, AP authorization failed; AP:04:da:d2:1f:4d:6f
I don't know why the system talks about dot1x or Radius Authorization, and if this is the source of my problems. On a other hand, I can see in the debug messages that there is a 2 hours lag time between controller (correct time) and RAP (incorrect, I suppose it synchronize with the controller?)

Vaio would not connect using WEP 40-bit key. Logged into Airport Extreme router with Airport setup utility for Windows from Apple. Updated firmware from 5.1.1 to 5.7. Reset Encryption from WEP to WPA/WPA2 Personal.Connected Vaio on Wifi using WPA2. Removed ethernet cable and connection was good at 54MB/s.Completed Windows Update
Can't Join New Acer Travelmate 2428 Laptop To Home Network
Feb 25, 2012Just got a new(secondhand) laptop & have successfully connected it to the internet via my wireless router/modem, but can't get it onto my home network. It appears to work, says it's connected but shows no other computers & they don't show this one.The laptop is an Acer Travelmate 2428, running Win7 Professional. My 2 wirelessly networked PCs are running on WinXP & the printer is connected physically to one of those. The router/modem is an Edimax. In XP it talks about 'home networks' whereas Win7 has 'homegroups'. I've used the wizard to 'manually connect to a wireless network' which is how I networked the PCs. I've also tried all other options in the 'Network & Sharing Centre' including the troubleshooter which when 'troubleshooting network problems' only tells me my clock is not right. In the network & sharing centre under 'view your active networks it says 'home network' & next to homegroup says 'joined'.

Oct 18, 2012I seem to have a problem with my new PC build... it's getting connected to the internet, but it isn't finding the network everything else is using, which has left me more than a bit confused. It seems as though my new PC is on a network all its own (simply called "Network"). Meanwhile, my old machine and my housemate's machine (both running Win7 x64), as well as my Playstation 3, are all connected to the main network, which we named "Ostia."
The router is a Netgear WNR2000v2. It's wireless (though all three desktops and the PS3 are all wired), and we've had no problems connecting anything in the past. This is the only machine that can't get access. I've had friends come over with laptops to play games on several occasions and they've always been able to wirelessly connect to my network, or plug in a wired connection and find it as well. But my new PC doesn't see "Ostia." I can go to Control Panel Network and Internet Network and Sharing Center and click "see full map," and that shows me the full network (Internet, the router, and everything connected to said router). But for whatever reason, I can't seem to get my new machine into the Ostia network.
I've had zero problems with the internet on my new machine otherwise. It connects fine in IE9, Firefox, and Chrome. In Battlefield 3 and other online games, this machine is an absolute terminator, running every game I throw at it on max settings without dropping below 60-70 FPS with no lag of any sort. The only reason this is annoying is because I can't move shared files to and from this machine with the other two PCs.
How To Find Hosts On Network
Jul 7, 2011I need a tool to find all the hosts connected on my network. I need something that will tell me the MAC and host type/name. I ran an IP Address tracker and got all the IPs in use, but that doesn't tell much beyond the IP address. Don't really need to do a full in-depth nmap port scan. My concern about using nmap is it can bog down a router...Although I can't say for sure if there are ways to scale the scan back in nmap so it won't cause any issues?
