View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter struggling with the setup of my new EA6500, I finally succeed in setting it up. Like other people in this forum, the setup process got interrupted approx., 90% in the setup process. After several factory resets and new setups, I finally was able to login locally to fulfill the setup and upgrade the firmware to 1.1.28.146072). After that, I do have wireless access, but the connection to my LAN connected NAS (Synology), is really really slow. Furthermore, when I try to use airplay to connect to my Airport express it drops out and starts blinking yellow? Finally, from time to time when I log in, I get the "No router found" message (can't remember the exact text). After a reboot I'm able to login. To me it seems that the firmware/router still is filled with a lots of bugs. I think I will downgrade to my old E4200, during the next couple of days, and return the EA6500.

I would like to change WPA security settings, but am not able to do it.I have done everything as installation leaflet says, and I get to the 5th point Status sheet: Firmware version v.304, MAC address (numbers), IP address 192.168.1.245, SSID linksys, Channel channel 6 and WEB security Disable

WPA2-Personal

I have a Linksys WRT610N wireless system with WPA-PSK security and this works fine with several computers but now one computer detects the wireless security as WEP and can thus not connect to the router. I have tried to manually connect to the router with correct security WPA-Personal (TKIP) and correct password but then the computer says "settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".How can I get the computer to detect the correct security? The computer is running Windows 7 home premium.

View 3 Replies View RelatedBefore the latest update and with the latest update, after about one week, I cannot access the router wirelessly using 192.168.1.1. Using IE 10, Chrome, and FireFox all give me no response. I type in the address and the web page never changes. It keeps me at the home page of my browser. I do not get any errors or messages.
Also I tried to use the DHCP Reservation page, and the names of the devices will not allow spaces or any special characters. Sure would be nice to allow such.
I just noticed that my router reverted back to 1.1.28.146856. I have updated twice via the web browser to version 1.1.28.147876 and once via direct connection and the downloaded file, but the router keeps reverting back to the older firmware.
Comcast service went down in our neighborhood and when it came back up my internet was down and all five LED lights on my Linksys router are solid green. Tech support tells me that I have to reset the unit to get it to function again.It's been a very long time since I set up the home network and while I'm pretty sure I can make my way through setting up from scratch (I'm assuming resetting goes back to factory settings) I was hoping there was a way to reconnect the router to the modem while retaining all the current security and settings.

When connecting through wireless network off the E4200, I can obtain and connect fine under Guest network and WEP security, but for any other security setting, WPA, WPA2, Mixed mode, etc. I get the message "Aquiring network address" forever, and I never get a connection.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently lost the setup for my newly installed ea6500 for no apparent reason. had to restart from the ground.I have the latest upgrade but wonder about the differences between the linksys coonect to the online version vs stand along versions. DO nor like expensive software that losses its setup for no good reason.I also irritated that I am unable to access my cable box. I own it and cable box and lynkiys has no right to block me from it. 192.168.100.1. I was able to accessed it with my Belkin router and I should be able to access with this expensive ea6500 box!!
We NEED a non-gui version. The gui is great for simple networks and people who do not want to know anything about their network. it's ment to be use to deliver additional services to us at a cost. duplicated or generates random users with ip or mac addresses complicating the parental control.
I've just managed to reset the WRT 300N to default settings and have setup the internet connection etc and home network ... BUT no matter how I've fiddled with the wireless settings I cannot get any of the laptops or mobile phones to connect wireless to the network.The Windows software on the laptops 'finds' the router OK but for some reason the router seems unwilling to supply an IP address.I've checked ALL of the settings that I can think of, and all are correct ... well, all are exactly the same as my old router which worked perfectly.

When I try to copy a file to the drive VIA the network folder on my computer it says "Destination Folder Access Denied, You Need Permision To Perform This Action". I used to be able to copy files to the drive so I am sure it is just a setting on the router or something.

It seems that frequently either via cloud or local i get the cannot find router message or waiting graphic which results me in having to manually reboot the router so that i can access the admin page again, The router still works fine but no admin access until i physically reboot. This kind of defeats the whole purpose of using cloud if just by accessing the router or making changes it leaves admin access inoperable!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed an IP camera, and had to change my E1000 router settings to a static IP address. Now I can't access the router settings. 192.168.1.1 is still the default gateway, but it won't open in any browser.
I'm reluctant to do a reset because it took me quite a while to figure out how to get the IP camera and port forwarding working (it does!), and I'd hate to do it all again and come to the same place. I'm not very good at this stuff, and it's a small miracle that I did it once.
