There are many software available for this but the issues is how they all function. Example: One software Synchronized FTP allows you to set a local/remote folder and sync files between them. What was never disclosed is that you need Windows Task Scheduler to run the synchronization, and you do not see a progress indicator. I also tried TurboFTP but it felt like landing a space shuttle.

I set up a connection from a laptop (Windows 7) that goes through a LAN proxy server to a secure ftp server (Windows Server 2003).The sftp server is assigned a public ip address.I opened the firewall at the destination and allowed port 22 traffic to the sftp server. Well, the connection is failing.I know for a fact the connection from the client laptop is making it to the sftp server.If I issue this command on the client laptop:
telnet sftpserver 22
The DOS screen clears and tells me the type of SSH server I'm connecting to. While this connection is still active, I logged into the destination sftp server and did a netstat command. I can see the address of the proxy server in the "Foreign Address" column of the netstat results. I also can see the proxy server address when I look at the Application Log on the sftp server, so I know the connection is making it to the sftp server.
I beleive the problem is the control port (return traffic) from the server back to the client. Something is being blocked or is misconfigured. I always thought the router negotiated the control port, and that the control port didn't need to be put into any firewalls.
I think the crappy usb to serial cable from china broke because when i boot up my cisco router, after it decompose the IOS image and shows all the interface links, it won't do anything. I can't get to user exec mode.anyways, i think my usb to serial cable is faultily. I got one that is from ebay for like 2 bucks and i think it is the reason why i can't even connect to my router now

My problem is that I havent been using command lines for 15 years, I litterally have never used a command line besides using stuff like ipconfig in command prompt.I have a ssh server on my home server using FreeSSH'd and The only ssh program i can find with a gui is winscp. Though theres no option to connect through ssh everyone says it does and theres even options for it.
Though when i try to run the bat file i get this error"Current sftp -3 session does not support command you request" then something about a seperate shell session. if i click ok it goes down to starting the session then just sits there and says host is not communication for more than 15 seconds still waiting and only option is to abort.
I'm currently assigned the task of purchasing new wireless access points, for our offices, at my workplace. We've previously been using "HP V-M200" access points, but we encoutered heavy throughput problems with these. During my tests of the network, I've seen these APs decrease their tranfer-rate to 30Mb, during file-transfer and ping-test. The issue here is concerning the transfer-rate from the Network Interface Card of my laptop to the wireless AP (did an iptraf while testing, and then noticed the 30Mb).

1) 16x RJ45 (Only 15 devices -- anything over 16 ports is waste, SFP/expansion/combo ports not required)
2) *All* ports 802.3af PoE compliant, approx 5W load.
3) 10/100 (Gigabit not necessary, there's only 2 cameras and voice traffic is compressed)
4) Prefer rackmount but not necessary

I've got a network setup (n only) with a bunch of devices wireless and wired. I've got in my PC an Asus PCE-N53 wifi card (comp isn't close enough to modem), and using it and speedtest.net I get speeds up to 40mbps (rarely, at average around 28-33mbps). When I test on a wired PC or on my brother's surface pro, I get from 60-80mbps. I can't for the life of me figure out what is wrong with the asus card. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, switching PCI slots, different system and it's still the same.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi am running windows server 2008 with the hyper V role installed.i have installed windows 7 Professional as a guest OS. assigned 2 GB of Ram to the machine. the point behind the VM is to virtualize my FTP server and incase a format is required i have the VM file on my 2nd partition, host OS on another. i use Cerberus FTP Server on the Win7 OS. i configured the server to accept SFTP and TLS connections. on the host OS i installed Fire FTP and File Zilla, both Clients will at max download a 4 MB file at 64 KB/Sec .. i have seen both jump to about 80 KB but was only a split second and never held.. however if i login without SFTP and transfer over standard protocol, i download at 1 MB/sec. which is my normal speeds. would this be only to the encryption process?, in the Cerberus Server there are options to adjust download speeds, i have left it default, and altered it to allow its max configuration. My ISP is not limiting any connections that shouldnt be.

How to successfully performed backup by means of SFTP protocol? Do I need any other configuration settings except repository? Do I need to store my SSHD RSA key to ACS? I am able to copy files using SFTP from other computers, so it seems that SFTP server is set correctly.

Right now we have two 6509s as internet edge devices multihoming to two ISPs, with load sharing and failover (layer 2 and layer 3). I was thinking of using Cisco 7200 routers at the internet edge and Cisco 4500 series switches behind the router for layer 2 switching(ISP---7200 series ---4200 series). Current traffic pattern on my two 6509s is around 100Mbps on an average on each switch when they are load balancing.. and when one failovers to another it just doubles. So I need to make sure the devices I chose has enough throughput for my current requirements and future growth.

We've had a lot of failures in the past due to multiple reasons, electrical noise, surge, etc so we decided to change to Cat.6 SFTP. The problem is that now , even with proper termination of the shielding at either one or both ends, the noise is so bad that packet loss is above 90%.

After we have installed patch 5 on several ACS 5.2 server they aren't able anymore to write their backups to the sftp servers. I have two servers, one application and one database server. Both of them are Windows 2008 R2 servers. I would like to connect them. What is the best configuration for quicker communication between them. Is it better to connect them through a network switch? Or directly connect them? Do I need to dedicate one of the ethernet ports on each server to separate their traffic to each other, from the internet connection traffic?

I know it can be done using Windows NLB but the cost of the Enterprise edition is beyond the budget of most of my clients. DNS failover is also out since it will involve fiddling with the DNS server. I'm would prefer to setup a simple solution in which I check the status of the primary server and then if the primary is down, change the ip address of the secondary to the primary so that the service remains available. This sounds simplistic, and besides different clients use different networks, e.g. AD, but I'm not a networking guy so I am at my wits' end.
