We have gotten a tv with wireless capability.I do not remember the WEP key.I currently have my laptop pc and a HP printer working with my D Link router. I have gotten as far at the set up page for the router and am wondering if I change the WEP key, will it automatically update the existing devices (my laptop and printer) or will they be locked out? Can I use the same code for all 4 WEp keys ?

My desktop works gloriously, but my laptops and everything else hooked up to the net through my Media link Wireless N Router either run incredibly slow, or get kicked off completely.I've already had the router replaced one.

The Netbook is connected to my wireless network, but will not connect to the internet. It keeps asking me to transfer information, via thumb drive, from a wireless access point, but my router is my wireless connector and it doesn't have a USB port to plug in a thumb drive. After that I had problems connecting to the internet with one of my wired connection computers (Windows XP). Connection has a Limited or no Connection status and the problem seems to be that the network doesn't assign a new ip adress.

I am running Windows Vista Business SP2 and I have been having problems lately with my internet connection. I am on a DSL connection and my computer keeps on dropping the connection like every 15-20min in order to get my connection back I have to disable and then reenable the network connection, but the weird thing is that I don't get internet connection, but I can still send and recieve IM's and Mail when my internet goes down. It is not my ISP that is wrong , but my computer, because I have a windows xp and it does the same thing and I also have a windows 7 PC and that one does not lose connection when my other ones do. On my Windows XP all what I have to do so it gets connection again is click on the connection and then click repair and I get internet again, but Windows Vista does not have this option so I have to disable and reenable my connection

We have Linkline ADSL that was set up by them with a Netopia 2241N-006 modem and a Cisco 33674 wired router. We got a Cisco E2000 wireless router to replace the wired one. It sets up perfectly, in that I can see and connect to the wireless router just fine, but it has no Internet connection. Also, when we plug the cord straight from the modem into the computer (as was suggested by someone) it has no Internet connection, so it seems we need the Netopia modem for it work.I have connected to Cisco live chat three different times to try and find out how to make this work, and each time after making me give them all the information they insisted the uninstalling/reinstalling Cisco connect and then going through set up again it would work. On the second and third chats I even gave them the reference numbers for the previous chats so theiy could see that is what was already done, to no avail. Apparently that is the only solution they know.Then I called Cisco support on the phone (twice). The first time they insisted I hang up and I repeat the same procedure from the chats, even though I explained I had now done it three times and gave them the chat reference numbers. They said if I would not do that. The second time I called they told me that was not something they supported - using their router with an adsl modem - even though their instructions do cover it.
using the two routers together since I cannot get the wireless one to work alone. I went and bought a crossover cable, hooked the two routers LAN port to LAN port, changed the router's IP address to just outside the main router's range and disabled DHCP. This did not change anything, so I tried the one other idea I found online which was to assign the router a static IP address in the same range that the rest of the network is using, hook the two routers LAN port to LAN port with the crossover cable, and disable the DHCP. This did not work either.
i deleted my xbox 360 local area connection from my computer i have windows 7. how do i get my xbox 360 back on my computer and share a connection with it cuz befor when i tryed to share it. it said......(Internet connection sharing cannot be enabled. Currently there's two ISP connections with their own proxy server. I want a user to be fully redirected to one of the ISPs based on who they are. I was hoping via IE proxy settings, this can be accomplished, but it looks like the primary ISP connection, is still getting most of the connections/routing.

The main house is where we live and the other is more of an office type small house. We've no phone line or internet connection in it and the location is in a dip where we've bad mobile/cell connection. We're don't want to pay an extra55 a month for phone line and internet just to use the internet maybe twice a week. The other end of the nanostation is in house 2 (1000ft away) where I have it feeding into another wireless router to feed that home hard wired and wireless.Everything works but cannot get both to work at same time.

My son connected another router upstairs and then created a static IP for everything. It seems when he did that, our Brother 2170 wireless printer quit working. We've tried everything to get it going again and nothing works- even Brother didn't get it rectified. Earlier today, my son finally got it working, connected directly to the router to get the static IP on the printer (I guess). I have cable Internet and I have had to constantly reset router to get it o work. Even when on main computer a web page will fail to load two three times abnd then will work. I am at my wits end and don't want to buy a new router for fear of having to set up the bridge again and make an error when doing so.

Here's one example: eBay Item # 300829809133, They work well as repeaters, but it's frustrating that I can no longer access their set-up / admin page via default IP 192.168.10.1. Right now I have only one repeater plugged in and connected to my laptop via ethernet cable. The 2nd repeater is unplugged. The Wifi on my laptop is switched off and disabled, so I'm actually connected to the Internet via my laptop's ethernet port via ethernet cable to the repeater's ethernet port, then via wifi signal from the repeater to my Zyxel wireless router and Comcast cable modem. If I'm connected to the Internet via the repeater, why can't I access the repeater's set-up / admin page using default IP 192.168.10.1? When I enter http://192.168.10.1/ into Internet Explorer, I get only the error message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a power outage while online and when power resumed, I was no longer able to connect to the internet via my wireless router. My laptops (I have 2, work and personal) both receive the wireless signal from my router (a Linksys WRT54GC) but I get a 'DNS lookup failed' error message when trying to access the internet. My standard set up was Arris cable modem-->Linksys router-->Laptop but I've had to go cable modem-->Laptop via Ethernet in order to access the internet.
Both laptops are running WinXP Pro, SP3 and I ran 'ipconfig/all' on my work one, once when connected via Ethernet and once when I had my wireless connection enabled (but again, not connected to the internet). Results below.

(192.168.0.1 -> wireless security -> new pass -> okay -> reboot computer ). After I restarted the computer, the router stopped working. The lights on it are fine, and if I plug the net cable into the computer I have internet too. The problem is, if I plug the cable into the router, I don't have internet. And I can't open 192.168.0.1 either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought yesterday a wireless modem/router and Tp-Link Adsl2+ N300 Modem Router Td-W8960n.I have 2 laptop computers at home.The first issue I have is that with one of the laptops (quite old - Acer Aspire 2420-2579 with Windows Vista Basic Service Pack 1) I can not connect (wireless) to the internet. It says local access only. However in other countries (IM in NZ) it does connect to internet. It does work when I use an Ethernet cable between my router and the laptop. The second issue is with my other laptop. A HP Pavillion DV-4 windows vista home premium service pack 2. I manage to get wireless access to the internet but every couple of minutes the connections drops and starts again by itself�. After 1-2 min approx�. it is getting pretty annoying!I don�t think it is the routher as I also have an XBOX 360 connectet to the internet usign the same device and works absolutely fine!

When I attempt to enter any sort of IP addresses,default Belkins and ones I see when viewing ipconfig, all it does is perform a Google Search with the numbers.Again, turning on wireless on my laptop and phone fail to find my router, which used to just be called "Belkin".Here is all the info that I believe you need:
