SpeedTest Result Lower When Wireless Is Enabled?

I am on BrightHouse cable internet and running a Netgear WGT624 v3 wireless router and WPA-PSK + WPA2-PSK. Computer1 is the only computer on the network at present and is connected via CAT5 cable. No wireless computers here are turned on.If I enable wireless radio, my SpeedTest (www.speedtest.net) is consistently 2- to 3 Megs slower than when wireless is turned off. I have run this comparison over a dozen times spread out over about a 14 hour period.

I have an e4200 set up using a trendnet TEW-684ub. Connection on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz seems fine, but when the 5Ghz network is under load, such as running speedtest, the network drops for a second. This does not appear to happen on the 2.4Ghz network.
2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks are set to Auto width and channel using WPA2 and I've tried raising the router up a bit to increase airflow to try to eliminate overheating as a possible issue. I'm also running the latest firmware...1.0.0.3, I believe.

I am using a linksys E3000 router, and a linksys AE1000 adapter with XP system, for some reason adapter always has to reconnect, disconnect, reconnect. and even with good connection, it only has a maximum speed 144MBPS. How to reset the adapter or the router so it won't get disconnect so often and maximize the speed.

Is it possible to lower the power draw on the Aironet 1552e AP (AIR-CAP1552E-N-K9) so it will run on a standard PoE device (IEEE 802.3af). The spec sheet for the AP says you need to either use the Cisco PoE injector (AIR-PWRINJ1500-2=).Is there possibly a firmware upgrade/downgrade or some sort of command I can use?The APs being used are running LWAPP and require a controller.

I have 100mbps connection but when i took the test at speedtest.net it was so slow i don't understand whats bottle necking my system. When i download games off of steam it downloads its much faster then downing anything from my browser. I know its my network because when i went on steam and changed my download settings to cable and it was fixed.

I recently bought one RV180W and two WAP121 in order to make a wireless extension of a network.I configured RV180W as Router and the three of them have the same SSID and password.Also, I added in RV180W WDS configuration both MAC Addreses of WAP121's and in WAP121's WDS configuration the MAC Address of RV180W.Even I tried in WAP121's with and without encryption using the same WPA Key of the RV180W.
The thing is that is not working at all. They work great separately but right WAP121 can't stablish WDS link with RV180W neither do the left WAP121 with RV180W.I tested WDS configuration of WAP121's and they can see each other between them using standard WDS configuration, so I assume that WDS function of WAP121's works great.Finally I try the same config but setting RV180W in WDS Bridge and WDS Repeater without any different result.Do I have any chance to make the topology I showed up would work? How do I have to configure the RV180W and WAP121's?

I have a major wired network issue.It manifests itself as not being able to print to my two home network (wired) printers and speedtest upload test fails.I can disconnect the ethernet cable from the failing desktop and plug it in to a laptop and everything works fine.I have tried disabling AVG firewall.

We have an ASA5520 firewall, IOS 8.0(4), running in routed mode with an operational Cisco 2821 router to ASA-5520 L2L IPsec VPN.:All Internet searches explain how to enable a L2L IPsec VPN from the LOWER security-level interface to a HIGHER security-level interface- and this is how our setup is configured and it is operational and working fine.:We now have a need to setup another L2L IPsec VPN tunnel on the same firewall BUT this time traffic will be arriving on the HIGHER security-level interface destination is to a LOWER security-level interface.:Is it possible to enable a L2L IPsec VPN tunnel between a HIGHER security-level interface to a LOWER security-level interface?

I have a 1.25 mbps download and .2 upload speed. I have a netgear n600 router and have wireless and cannot change to wired. I have around a 120 ping all most always. My current speed is the best in my area too. Is there any kind of equipment that will give me a lower ping for online gaming? Is there any router settings for this?

I just recently purchased a Linksys WAG320N and replaced a setup with Linksys AM200 modem and a good ole Linksys WRT54GL. Problem is that after the switch i immediately got around 100 KB lower transfer speeds no matter what source i use or kind of transfer i perform. If i earlier got for example 860KB/sec i now only gets 760KB/sec.I´ve set the modem/router up pretty much using the default values, are there any settings i could change to get a more efficient use of my bandwidth? I am using the provided network cable that came with the WAG320N, but i have also tested with other cat 5 cables. The file transfers are taking place using cable attached devices only.

I have read that nat control is no longer exist in this version,However, I am trying to permit traffic from lower security interface to higher interface security,Is it need to be Natted ?
When I try to route, i have never succeeded, but when I put a nat, I can access and the traffic go through Do I miss anything on the nat control statement ?

I have a problem with LMS 4.2 user tracking.When I generate a report on all my network all mac address are ok but there is no Hostname/Ip address in the result, except for 2 equipments.the only difference between these 2 equipements and the rest of the network is that they are connected on a not routed vlan. All the other phones, computers are connected on a routed vlan.I have a Nexus 5k as core and 2960 as access. Routing between vlans is done with the NexusMy DNS server is ok and reachable.

Last week I upgraded the firmware in my D LINK DIR-601 from 1.01NA to 1.02NA. This resulted in breaking my VoIP service (causing one-way audio on incoming calls - callers could hear me but I could not hear them). I am using a SIP-based service from Speakeasy (Broad soft) with a Cisco 504G phone. Once I downgraded the router back to 1.01NA, the service started working again.
I don't know if anybody else has reported an SIP-related issues with this firmware.

The problem is the end station that are still connected to the supplicant port /use a EAP-TLS/ after the reboot supplicant! All of them will be put into the Guest VLAN instead of static VLAN 34!

What is wrong and how to configure/tune and what authenticator or authentication server to prevent after the reboot to observe a authentication timeouts? Of course the supplicant after 20 minutes /next EAPOL start farmet put into VLAN 34.

I installed WS-C4506-E 3 day ago. We have a standard modem/wireless setup that has worked fine for years. Last month, my sister brought her laptop over and, for some unknown reason, choose "set up a connection or network" and unknowingly changed the setup to a security enabled network. I have no idea why she couldn't just log on without any problem. She has the same modem at her house, and I have no problem logging on at her house. Anyway, it now asks for a password, and she swears she never entered one. I can go online if I plug in an ethernet cord but that means my laptop can only go online at my desk. And I cannot use the internet features on my ipod touch. Is there a way to reset the modem back to a regular unsecured setup?

I have a Sony Vaio and it has been working fine and it Suddenly just disconnected itself from the wireless connection. I did troubleshoot and it fixed itself but it done it again minutes later and simple said a cable was disconnected. I restarted the laptop and it came on fine but it disconnected again and has not worked since. I have gone into the wireless connection settings and it says wireless isn't enabled. The switch is on and illuminated. I've switched it on and off. I have also done a system restore from a previous update just to be sure but there is no change?

I have windows 7 PC. On the normal bases it has 3 internet connections 2 wireless and 1 hardwired. The 2 wireless are used for internet access and the hardwired is for my LAN through my router. The wireless connections are throught ATT mobile devices. I use my lan to share files through PC in my household and it has no internet access. The problem is that whenever I have all 3 of these connections connected windows always sees the hardwire connection as internet access so I can't use the internet even if my 2 other wireless connections are enabled. However, If I disable the Local area network connections and the leave 2 wireless connections enabled I have internet again.is there a way to just make windows use the hardwired connection as local and use the wireless connections for internet?

My Toshiba laptop running Vista as an operating connects just fine to the wireless network at my house. However, I will soon be house-sitting at a house that also has security-enabled wireless available. I connect just fine at my house, but whenever I put in the password at their house it says that that it cannot connect because of a timeout. I can't figure out what the problem is, because I recently went to the public library that has wifi and got on just fine. why in the world it will not connect to this specific wireless router??

Brand new MSI system using windows 7. we're using a wirless network in the house, and up until today it's been fine. Randomly, Windows is no longer detecting any networks.
I've confirmed there is no prob with the router or signal as I can detect the network in my room and connect to the internet (using a homeplug hardline). I've tried enabling and disabling both the router and wireless card, a system restore (windows made no changes), and when I came to use the windows 7 troubleshooter - it says the device is not enabled?

I seem to have a problem with my Dell DW1520 wireless LAN card installed on a Studio 1747 laptop.The LAN card seems to have a mind of its own and is rarely enabled at start up. Repeatedly restarting the laptop a few times somehow magically enables the network card though.When disabled, I can see the red cross on the task bar (network connection). The network card is not even detected and is not visible in device manager. However, when I restart the laptop a few times, the bars appear, the LAN card appears in device manager and I can connect to the wireless network.
I logged a call with Dell Technical support for this and a different issue (BSOD and restart). They replaced my motherboard and asked me to monitor the situation. While the BSOD/restart issue seems to have disappeared with the motherboard replacement, the wireless LAN card issue still remains. The person that came to install the motherboard also tried installing new drivers for the LAN card but that hasn't worked. Dell tech support now say that I must reinstall the whole Operating System (Windows 7), drivers etc from scratch.
