View 1 RepliesI was trying to port fwd my RDP and then I ended up getting side tracted and changed my routers password [URL] it would cause my router to stop working. I know my adapter is fine, because I can connect to the internet via wired connection. My wifi DHCP is not enabled however and I have no clue on how to enable it.
Here is the settings from ipconfig/all

Unfortunately, the other desktop I really need to make wireless is having difficulties. The computer never shows the message that a new device is discovered/installed. The adapter shows up under hardware devices and functioning properly but this is not the case. I installed the driver from the included CD but when I use Windows to troubleshoot, it says that the driver and adapter aren't working. When trying to set up a new network, I get a grayed-out wireless icon in the system tray and can't proceed. I disabled the firewall and antivirus so I could start over, uninstalling the driver, restarting and installing again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys e3200 which was working great until about a week ago. Now any device that connects via DHCP does not have access to the internet, though devices set up with a static IP outside the DHCP range still have full access. The devices connecting via DHCP still have full network access, just not internet access.I tried most of the obvious fixes (reboot, changing the range and lease time for the DHCP) but have at best received a temporary fix.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Linksys EA3500 about two months ago, brought it home and set it up with my DSL provider and everything was great, until sometime last week, and since then my download speeds have just plummeted to basically nothing. I did some troubleshooting but I cannot seem to find what the issue is. I have checked all the cables etc, and I know that it is definitely something with the router itself..My current Speedtest.net speeds are as follows (I am paying for a 5mb connection) with the EA3500.Ping of 15ms Download speed of .67mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps.When I remove the router and hook straight to the DSL modem I get the following results.Pink of 12ms Download speed of 4.89mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps
- I have tried to reset the router both by holding the reset button and through the configuration application.
- I have enabled and disabled wireless to see if that was slowing things down
- I have plugged in my old WRT54G and I get the 12ms, 4.89mbps,.60mbps results on it (so I know its the EA3500)
- I tried putting the computer in the DMZ
- I have changed the ports that the computer is plugged into
- I have disabled and enabled IPV6 on both router and network card
- Firmware version - 1.1.38.134141
i am configuring a 3560, everthing is fine until i enable the "ip routing"
i lost connection to all vlan
Hardware: RV082 V03
Firmware: RV0XX-v4.2.1.02
Lan: 192.168.1.0/255
Static routing: 192.168.1.239 to 172.25.152.64/224
The unit is configured as internet gateway. 4 NAT ports are active. When firewall disabled all works fine. When firewall enabled I do get connection lost at random interval. In firewall only 4 rules added to the default 3 rules. The added rules are:
1/ permit 192.168.1.22 port 25 to any
2/ permit 192.168.1.27 port 25 to any
3/ permit 192.168.1.10 port 25 to any
4/ deny any port 25 to any
I do get at random times connection lost when navigating with windows explorer on a PC with IP 192.168.1.x to a share on a PC with IP 172.25.152.74. The same happens when copying files. Sometimes it works, later it fails or reties are needed. When the firewall is switched off all runs fine.
Ping from 192.168.1.x to 172.25.152.74 allways give a <1ms response
Is there a RV082 perfomance problem or do I have a configuration problem?
I have disabled / enabled and unistalled / installed and updated driver software but to no avail. It has been replaced, I have refreshed TCP/IP as per previous instruction found here and it did go a bit further, but now stuck as per below from CCX diagnostics Utility:

I have a HP G62 laptop with windows 7 and a Atheros AR9285 wifi adapter. The Wireless Assistant shows the WLAN as disabled. In the device manager, the adapter is listed as enabled. When I push the F12 key that turns on and off the wireless, the wireless assistant alternates between showing the WLAN as Off or Disabled. I tried disabling the adapter and re-enabling it from the device manager, but the wireless assistant still shows it as disabled.

I have upgraded to the new RV042G to take advantage of the gigabit Ethernet speeds and to prepare for when our ISP upgrades our bandwidth. I currently use the RV042 with Protect Link enabled to filter out various categories from our network traffic. I noticed that this feature is not included with the RV042G.
Is this something Cisco will decide to add back in later? In the meantime, how to block content on the network? The basic URL and keyword filter will not meet our needs, since it is much easier to let a service such as Trend Micro manage what is blocked in the categories they offer.
Every single one of the WAP4410N units at every single client where they've been deployed is dropping the network connection.
After an undetermined amount of time, wireless devices connected to a WAP4410N begin to lose their network connection, but each will maintain their wireless connection to the WAP. The network connection will not be restored until the WAP is rebooted. It appears the affected devices are unable to obtain/renew their IP address at the time when they lose network connection. We reduced the DHCP lease time to 2 hours, and we had no problems for 2 weeks. We then changed the DHCP lease backup to 3 days and the problem returned.
This happens with one or two SSIDs in use, with or without VLANs, always in bridge mode.
Cisco support advised us that this is a known problem that was supposed to be corrected in the 2.0.4.2 firmware revision. They have found that it does work in approximately 90% of the updates from 2.0.3.3, but is still not working for some customers. It was supposed to be fixed with firmware version 2.0.6.1 (which we've tried) but no luck.
Besides the obvious "short DHCP lease" workaround, any better ideas? Is the WAP4410N a lemon?
I have two WAP321s in my office. The network they are on is a single VLAN (172.16.10.x). Both WAPs are setup with the same SSID, and I have setup Single Point Setup.
I am having a problem that was happening before I setup Single Point Setup, and it is still happening. Basically wireless will be up and running fine for part of the day. Then people throughout the office will begin to lose their connections to the DHCP server. They still retain the connection to the WAP, but can no longer access the network.
The only way I have been able to fix this issue is to reboot the WAP. As soon as it reboots the connections come back. At first I thought it was due to the number of connections (which is why we now have 2 WAPs), however we only have about 20-25 conncurrent connections.
I put in the second WAP to try to balance out the load but this does not seem to be working. Is there a setting I need to change on the WAPs to balance out the load?
We are using a domain and Windows Server 2008 machine with DNS/DHCP setup and active to handle traffic on the network. The old router we had was a cheap (~$20) TrendNet that was configured (not by me) without issue to not only allow the server to handle IP's but also allow us to get in to the server remotely via Remote Desktop. My cut sheet says they had a "virtual server" setup.
Anyways, we now are running an E2500 and if I put in the external IP, Subnet, Gateway, and DNS for our internet provider and then disable DHCP on the router, we don't get internet access. I'm missing what configuration I need to get the server to handle all the traffic I guess. The server has DHCP enabled with the router IP address (192.168.1.1) set and the server address is (192.168.1.2). Like I said before it was working fine with our old router and none of the settings on the server have been changed so must be something with the new router.
Do I need to setup something in the advanced routing to get this working? Currently I have DHCP on automatic and DHCP server enabled just so we can get internet access. DHCP services on the server are still on as well. Can't get any access to the server from the outside via Remote Desktop like we could before.

That's a wonderful router on the paper! Really it has some problems with the wireless connection and the dhcp server. After 2 days of i must forced to reset the router because it refuse any wireless connection while the internet browsing on the other pc connected via ethernet ARJ45 is very slow.To complete the scenario the router doesn't allow any acces to his console page ..so what's the problem?
I try to change any channel for the wireless without no positive result.I bought it on amazon but if this situation will continue without any solution from tp-link i will forced to send it back with a totally negative feedback on the product.
Could I use DHCP for wireless connection and assign private IP for PC for wire connection ?Will it conflict to each other ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedA little background on me: I do performance testing for a large corporation, so networking is like an old hat for me - but this has me spinning because it makes no logical sense to me.Here's the layout of my home network:CableModem(passthrough) -> WRT120N -> ENH200 (Access point) -> ENH200 (Client Bridge) -> Netgear N600Both the WRT120N and the Netgear N600 are providing wireless access to clients at both locations. N600 is set not to route or DHCP, and the WAN port isn't used.Initially the WRT120N wasn't in play because the cable modem was serving DHCP, but it wouldn't successfully send DHCP to most clients on the other side of the client bridge. So I installed the WRT120N (old, I know) and it was able to serve up DHCP to any and all systems... for a while. Now DHCP doesn't appear to be working fully again on the Netgear side of the bridge. One device registers in the WRT120N, the client list shows the mac as getting assigned an ID, but the device never actually pulls the address. Static works fine. Those that already have DHCP addresses work like a charm, so I know the link is stable. pingtest.net reports near perfection.
