Use Dlink DSL-2750U As Wireless Repeater?

Feb 15, 2013

I have a new internet router linksys EA2700 Firmware Version: 1.0.14, the wireless signal doesn't cover the whole house so I like to extend the wireless signal using my old router Dlink DSL-2750U as Access point, I configured the two router as following but yet didn't work.

Linksys
DHCP: enabled,
IP lease range 192.168.1.100 to 150
Wireless SSID, Security Mode, Passphrase, Channel Width and Channel number same as Dlink

Dlink:
DHCP: disabled
AP Mode: Access point
Bridge Restrict:Enabled
Remote Bridges MAC Address: is the linksys MAC.
And I removed the Layer2Interface and WAN old configuration.

Using DLink DIR 615 Wireless Router As Repeater?

Nov 6, 2011

I recently bought a new D-Link DIR 615 but I dont get adequate range in the rooms farthest away from the router. I have an old D-Link DIR 634M router which I'm told can be used as a wireless repeater. I went through several articles that describe connecting the two routers through a LAN cable. However is there a way to do the same without using a cable of any sorts?

D-Link DSL 2750U Wireless Router - Combine WLAN With LAN

Oct 28, 2012

I have D-link DSL 2750U wireless router. My PC and notebook are connected to router by Wi-Fi. They can share files or ping each other. I have a network storage unit plugged into router by an ethernet cable. Any of the computers cannot reach that storage unit or ping it. I guess my router isolates LAN network from WLAN network. Is there a way to combine them and get the router treat all devices connected to router in a single network?

D-link DSL-2750U - How To Control Ethernet Access To A Wireless Router

Apr 23, 2012

I have a situation where I have tenants connecting to my wireless network and paying towards the internet bill. I am able to control this by using MAC filtering, but I have just realised that this only works for wireless clients.

Is there a way to replicate this for the router's Lan ports? Or possibly even just disable Lan access. The router model is a D-link DSL-2750U.

D-Link 2750U Losing Connection Frequently?

Apr 22, 2013

I started using a D-link 2750U wireless modem-router about 2 months ago, and configured it using the given disk for my ISP (MTNL Delhi). Since then, it has never retained a connection for more than 10 days, give or take i.e starts showing a red earth light instead of a green one. I usually reset it to factory settings and reconfigure it using the same disc over and over again, but now it has started dropping connection more frequently.Recently, it developed a new disease. Connection is very unstable now. Through line, it keeps disconnecting every 4-5 minutes. re-connects and dies again itself and does not work through wi-fi at allMy hardware quality healthy as I ran a wired connection for over 3 years without any trouble before this one.

Cannot Connect To Dlink Wireless Router

Dec 28, 2011

I have a new Dlink wireless router. Previously I had a Belkin router. The new one was said to have stronger signal. I am not able to connect via wireless to the router from a PC with Windows Vista. It works fine when I use a cable. Then I am able to connect to Internet via the router. Also, I am able to print on a wireless printer. It is also possible to use Internet from an Ipad with wifi.
The Belkin router had a different network, 192.168.2....When the cable is connected I can ping 192.168.0.1 but not when I remove the cable. In Windows Vista the connection has status "connected". When the cable is connected, the ipconfig /all is printed as below. It is a Swedish version. Some translated words:

Trdls = Wireless
Ja = Yes
Nej = No
Frnkopplad = Disconnected

When i'm configuring the router in the Dlink page(192.168.0.1 now i changed it to 192.168.1.100).. In that i go to Manual Internet Configuration>> then i select Static IP(Since i've been provided a static IP,gateway, DNS settings by my ISP) As soon as enter IP: 192.168.1.2,, and Subnet 255.255.255.0,,,Gateway : 192.168.1.1 and enter DNS details and press SAVE.. I get a message " Invalid IP Address".. I've set the Router IP as 192.168.1.100 and DHCP range : 3 to 199I don't know why is this happening.. I'm not able to connect to internet now from the router.

DLink Dir 655 - Wireless Range Extension?

So here is my question.I have my old DLINK dir-655. Would it be advisable to use a powerline connection (I already have Powerline adapters) to the ground floor near the back and piggyback the wireless?(This would also allow me to Hardwire the TV/ps3/htpc)

Wireless :: Access Point Or Repeater?

Oct 20, 2011

I have a fairly large home (>5000 sq ft) with multiple levels and some "dead spots" in the extreme areas. I would like to have a fantastic wi-fi signal through the home for access to my home network for my family and internet for guests. I have Fios with a 50/20 mpm with a "g" router. I also have purchased 2 repeaters (ampedwireless.com) and installed 1. Recognizing that it appears to have created a different network, so this isn't what I want to do. Then I went back and purchased 2 access points. I need to have an "hardware solution" in my theater (basement) as well as in my bedroom (3rd floor).

DNS Lookup Failed With A Wireless Repeater

Jun 3, 2011

Iv had this problem with two wireless repeaters now. when im connected to just the router, i am able to access the internet. however when i plug in and set up the wireless repeater ( the latest one is a amped wireless sr300) it works for a few min and then i get a "DNS lookup failed" when trying to access sites. this repeater replaced a hawking hwren1. which would work for a few min and then lose the network.i believe this is a problem with our internet connection into the house, but could it be a caused by the router? (wrt400n) our isp says its not their problem and that its our router, but this is the 4th one in under a year.

Wireless Repeater Keeps Dropping Connection?

Dec 26, 2012

As I am more of a hardware guy and pretty clueless about networking, I thought I'd come here because I am pretty frustrated right now.So yesterday, I got an Amped Wireless SR10000 Repeater for Christmas. I had it set up and working with no problems. However, this message did pop up when it was finished:

I ignored it (stupid me) because I didn't know what to do. The connection worked fine for a while, but now a day later, the connection keeps dropping. I would assume it is because of this.I did a bit of research and it seems like setting up a static IP will fix the problem, but I have no idea how to do that.

Wireless Repeater Signal Keeps Dropping?

Mar 28, 2012

We have a home network which consists of one Motorola wireless router and 3 PCs. Two of the PCs connect directly to the wireless router without any issues, however, my PC dosent have a built in Wi Fi card so am using a TP Link wireless N USB adaptor.... so as you can imagine the signal is still very poor. So I have bought a TP Link AP and have it set up in repeater mode to increase the range of the router and thus improve my connection.

Now this works great in the short term as I get full signal, but the problem is the signal tends to drop out every 20 mins or so.Now, originally we were recieving an IP address conflict message which I thought was causing these drop outs, but I have rectified this by using MAC address filtering on the AP (think the AP was connecting to someone elses PC in our block of flats), but the drop outs still continue.

I have a static IP set on both my PC and AP and DHCP enabled on the Motorola router, I have also tried changing the Motorola's channel and moving the AP to different places but the story dosent change.I am a right noob when it comes to networking and have got this far by reading manuals, google searching and trail and error so dont know what else to do.

Cisco Wireless :: To Use WAP 4410 As A Repeater

Sep 21, 2012

I have spent countless weekends trying to configure the WAP 4410 as a wireless repeater.  From what I see the instructions and help screens seem to be incomplete or the WAP is not capable of this function even though it is available.It will not connect to the modem wirelessly as a repeater.  I have tried numberous settings including the same channel and SSID without avail.  As soon as I disconnect it from the wireless modem it will no longer connect to the internet.I have an older WRT 610N which will connect to the modem as a repeater so I don't think it is at the modem end.Searches have indicated others with a similar problem but I don't see any viable solutions except to buy and connect to another WAP 4410.Contacting Cisco for suppor by chat t has been pointless. Either they are not available when I am or they are clueless.

Cisco Wireless :: WAP4410N As Repeater

Jul 20, 2010

I would like to ask for assistance on how to configure one unit WAP4410N access point to work as repeater to one unit WRT120N wireless router.

As a background, I had one WRT120N already in my house before I bought one WAP4410N as advised by a Linksys guy. I wanted to wirelessly extend the signal of my WRT120N wherever its signal is so low around my house. The WAP4410N should work as repeater to WRT120N.

I already configured WAP4410N to work as repeater by enabling all the  choices in its wireless AP mode like the  “wireless WDS repeater” and the “wireless client/repeater” but to no avail. I successfully setup a similar scenario before using the old pair of one WRT54G and one WAP54G. I replaced the old  pair with the newer one ( WRT120N and one WAP4410N).

Is the tandem of WAP4410N and WRT120N can be configured technically as like as what I wanted? Do I need to upgrade the firmware of both devices? Did I miss something in the configuration?
