WRT160n - 10TB Local Web Server With More Than 20 Users

Since the number of computers are expanding at my home, I want to reduce Wireless Connectivity and increase Ethernet connection between computers. I will be running a Server that supports 10 TB Storage.Will a Custom PC be better or should I use a NAS connected to a web server?
I currently use a Linksys WRT160n router that supports only 4 ethernet connections.Now I need at least 40 Ethernet connections. Will a Switch do? Also I will be running Asterisk to support Telephones.
My web server will not function globally. Only in LAN.And also, the web server will have a 250gb Wikipedia Dump that will deploy 10 times; and also a lot of video from KhanAcademy for knowledge base.I am looking for something powerful which will be quiet and have less downtime.I have checked out Newegg, eRacks, and many other websites. But I am confused with what to consider buying.
A Local Web Server or a custom built PC for 10tb hard drive suppoty.Router that can provide wired connection to about 40 users.A Terminal so I can monitor the bandwidth usage.

As of last night my router has been producing slow connectivity when multiple users are connected to it, but it's perfectly fine when only one user is connected. I am on a laptop myself, but we also have a second laptop and a desktop where the modem and router are set up. I have upgraded the firmware so that is up to date. We have Comcast Fiber Optics so my internet speed is normally quite fast even when all of my computers are connected.
I am using DHCP Configuration. My Channel Width is set to 20 MHz and I am using Channel 11. The Security Mode is set to WPA Personal. I had it on WPA2 Personal but I read that changing to WPA Personal might work and so far it doesn't seem to have done anything. I set the Beacon Interval to 50, Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, and RTS Threshold to 2304. Everything else is set to the default factory configuration.
Just today I received a notice that said "Windows has detected an IP Address Conflict", but ever since I reinstalled the Firmware it hasn't come back. I've rebooted both my laptop and the desktop to confirm it hasn't come back as well. I've tried everything that I could think of including reconfiguring my router and restarting my modem as well.

I run several game servers here locally.... Counter Strike Source, Unreal Tournament 3, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 4 GunGame, Garry's Mod.
They all run in their own VM's. All VM's are accessable on wireless via any other protocol RDP and UT3 web admin. None of the games show up in the in game server browsers in the LAN. If you connect wired to the gig switch they show up.
If you go into the console of a game and connect directly to the IP of the machine you can enter the game. There is no problem connecting with the server only that it doesnt show up in the browser on wireless
Obviously my wireless router is funky. WRT160N with DDWRT. Currently setup as an AP.

i'm trying to setup a local DNS server to manage small office local-only domain names for our servers. i have the DNS working properly (resolving local machines and using the ISP dns if it can't). so i put the DNS server ip into the "Static DNS 1" field of the router settings. the other 2 static dns fields are empty.the problem is that the router is still using the ISP dns server as the primary and my local dns server as the secondary. i verify this in two places. first, if i go to the "status" tab, DNS 1 shows the ISP server while DNS 2 shows my local DNS server. secondly, if i connect to the wireless device with a linux-based machine, the /etc/resolv.conf file shows the nameserver ips in the same incorrect order.

I have ACS 5.1 configured to authenticate users based on Active Directory. I have configured wired 802.1x too, with machine authentication enabled on ACS.When I login with credentials that exist in AD, it works fine. Then I configured Windows Authentication to ask for credentials (popup window). But I experience network disconnection when I login with a local account even though I entered correct AD credentials.I want to do the following: for an account that exist on the machine being authenticated (non-AD account), ACS should check its local database and reply with authentication success if it finds it, so the user is granted network connectivity.I heard about Identity Sequence in ACS. But I still don't see the right configuration,

The last few days I had been getting the error that: "Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration" whenever I reboot my computer. I have to power cycle the router before I can get back the internet connection. Checked on the web and tried various solutions which did not work. So I tried using various firmwares for the WRT160N V2 like V2.03 Build 7 and Build 9. Still did not work. Finally reverted back to my old and trusted FW2.02 Build 8. And this seemed to improve the situation. However, the error will still appear from time to time though not as frequently.

I am trying to configure a Cisco ASA 5505 so that users can authenticate via Radius or via a Local account using the Cisco AnyConnect client. In the AnyConnect Connection profile, the basic tab, it has Authentication Method. We have this going to an AAA server group with Use Local if Server Group fails option is checked.Each time, I see where the user has failed while attemtping to log in to the domain via the radius servers and thus bypasses the local user database all together.

I run a webserver that has worked fine for a while. Recently, I've been getting calls from people who say that the page is no longer pulling up. There were several reported cases, but no specifics. Finally I talked to someone today.He said they changed their ISP to AT&T U-Verse and that's when the problem started. When trying to go to our webpage, his browser times out. I run a small software development firm with around 15 network users. We currently have broadband DSL (only thing available in our area with decent up/down speeds - 2/20 respectively). We have 7 development (Win 2008/2012) servers and 4 sales people that tie up bandwidth with video conferencing/movies/music/etc..We aren't running a DHCP server (the modem/router handles DHCP) or exchange (we use gmail). We essentially have the broadband modem, a cradlepoint mbr1400 router as AP, and a 24 port unmanaged switch, a few wireless printers, and of course each employee has at least one other device connected via WIFI.

I am a networking student so have access to a free copy of Windows Server 2012. I want to setup and get experience with AD, DHCP, and DNS, among other services. Right now I have a Netgear router attached to a Cisco switch. (studying for CCENT cert) I have my desktop and server plugged into switch. I want my desktop to connect to the domain for testing and messing aroudn with. My wife has a netboook, smartphone, and wireless ipod. I'd like her 3 devices to get an IP from the DHCP server without having her authenticate to the server. Will the Netgear router allow this since wirless access is on? Or will she need to authenticate with the server to get a DHCP IP? I am gonig to disable the router's DHCP service.

The server is running Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2.The four other systems connecting to the server are running Microsoft Windows XP.Is it possible to have all four users connected at the same time remotely using a remote desktop client to the server? I'm using Teamviewer right now, but not sure if it will work with that.

I've got an HP Microserver, running server 2008 R2 foundation, and I'm using it for file sharing. All files are in a single folder with subfolders, and located in drive C.
The problem is that the server limits the number of LAN connections to it to 31. I've already changed the max. number of connections to the maximum, but doesn't seem to work. Network discovery and file sharing are on, firewall is off, full access rights for everyone.
The error I get when trying to access the shared folder is: 'Microsoft Windows Network: No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept'

I have successfully set up a windows 2008 box as a Radius server and use it to authenticate VPN users against ta AD database.I have also set up a similar policy that permits authentication for management purposes to all my networking devices (routers,switches and the ASA).Both policies work fine.Of course I don't want every VPN user to have administrative access to the ASA and every other device on my network.How can I discriminate between the 2 groups (VPN users and Network administrators)

I have walked into a company that has several small (1-4 PC's each) remote locations, and they all connect to Terminal Server to use our POS app. This app will not keep redirected printers saved between each session, so in order to save the printers, they have software VPN's set up on each client, then the local printers are installed on the server through a Local Port using the VPN ipaddressprinter share name. This allows the printers to be saved in the program and not re-assigned each session. Now, let's say that I have implemented a new desktop replacement procedure, and we are now in phase one of said procedure. I have purchased Windows 7 64-bit desktops. After setting up my deployment standards and testing in-house, I placed one of these PC's in the field. This is where I learned the issues of printing from a 32-bit server to a 64-bit client. I have not been able to successfully print to the printer installed on the server using the Local Port of the client, print job errors out. I have done some research, and found the issues with printing from 32-bit to 64-bit, and have installed all the additional drivers I can find, with no success.

We have 2 nexus 7010 switches configured with HSRP in the network. For all the vlans core1 is Master and Core2 is standby. In the current setup we have external dhcp server and dhcp relay is configured for all the vlans on Master and standby switch. The setup is running the IOS 5.2
Activity Done: During the Maintainacne activity, we isolated core1 switch in the network by disabling the vpc/keepalive and all the uplinks from access switch. The core2 switch was master for all the vlans.
Issue observed: It has been observed that new users were not getting ip address from the dhcp server. The ethereal capture showed that dhcp server was not getting the dhcp requests from the core2 switch. We disabled the dhcp feature in core2 and enabled again with dhcp relay again configured on vlan interfaces .even after doing this no change was observed in behaviour. Finally we got core1 back in network by enabling all the links.
Observation: The moment VPC link came up between the core switches, users started getting ip's from dhcp. Then we started enabling all the uplinks on core1.Core1 again become master for all the vlans and users continued getting ip’s. Network running fine.
Further Testing
1. For one of the vlan, core 2 switch has been made primary and for new users checked the dhcp functionality and it was working fine. The aim was to identify if anything wrong on core 2 related to dhcp relay
2.Again we changed the priority for this vlan and made core1 master for the same. This time we disabled this vlan on core1 and tried new user with core 2 became master and dhcp functionality worked fine for new user. Actually in this case we have simulated the same behaviour when we observed the issue with only difference of VPC was not available during the issue time as core 1 was isolated form network
Inputs needed.
Is there any known behaviour for dhcp functionality when VPC is unavailable? If we see the test scenario2 (wherein core1 was master for the vlan and we disable this vlan on core 1 and core 2 was able to relay dhcp requests for new users in this vlan.) it was actually same as scenario we observed during issue time..

System was running fine untill about two days ago. File and print sharing stop working. went to services and tried to restart "Computer Browser". It would not start due to a dependancy. Tried to start "Server Services" Got the following error. "Can not start Server Service on local computer, Error 2:The system cannot find the filed specified". The files srvsvc.dll 95KB 4/14/2008 The file srv.sys 327KB 4/14/2008.If I delete either of these files they are just created again. If I replace them with the new versions they are converted back to these files.I am running XP Pro SP3.

I'm trying to develop and test a website from my iPad. I have my laptop and iPad on same local network, 192.168.1.xThey can see each other over network and I can access the page:192.168.1.105:80 (my laptops local web server) from both iPad and laptop. However the application server runs on port 8080 and I cannot access this from either device/machine. the router's firewall is playing a role, and I have no software firewall running on laptop that I'm aware of (turned off windows 7 firewall).localhost:8080/myWebSite or 127.0.0.1 also works on port 8080.The only combo that does not work is 192.168.1.105 with port 8080. I need this so the iPad can hit the site so I can test locally while developing.

One of our servers recently lost its outbout network connectivity. It can ping and communiate with any computer on our LAN, but it can't communicate with anything outside our network. It has a statically asigned IP address, and can ping the default gateway. We haven't changed any settings on the firewall or gateway....

I am testing a Aironet1040 in AP setting. During the process of trial run of GUI on this 1040, I saw a local radius setting and it can set something like FAST-EAP.
Is it after using this setting (plus other steps), I can set this Aironet1040 as an AP with the capability of simple Radius Server for authentication purpose?
If not by this way as I mentioned above, can Aironet1040 be set as simple Radius Server? This is because if it can set as simple Radius Server and not need to work with an external Radius Server, that would be great and save trouble to find another server.

Im trying to configure remote access VPN on ASA5505. I configured it as local CA server, installed digital certificate on remote station and everything looks fine as far as i can see. I'm using cisco VPN client 5.0 on remote station. when i initiate VPN session it fails while trying to connect. Looks like im missing some configuration but i cannot figure out what it is. Currently i have firewall configured to use group authentication and everything works fine. I want to switch it to use certificate authentication, and if possible, confiure firewall to use main mode instead of aggressive mode for better security.

Charter tech came today to solve my problem of my new modem not working, he fixed the Modem but i think he did something to the lan proxy settings after.I'm trying to set up my Belkin wireless G router but i do not have the orginal CD. What should my address be under the "Use a Proxy server for your LAN" checkbox and what is the port and should i check off the bypass proxy server for local address box?
