Wifi Connection Using Netgear Wnr2000i Router?

I'm posting from my phone because right now its my only access.I have a Netgear Router model number WNR2000I have a Gateway GM5260 model computer using windows xp.I am currently trying to connect to my awesome neighbor's wifi connection that they so lovingly bestowed on me and my family the other day.Herein lies my problem:I cannot get their router and my own to connect. I'm a networking noob and could really use some assistance.I've got a their wireless password, my router, and my ethernet cable connecting my router to my pc.Do I need to pick up a wireless antenna to connect to my router as well?

The laptops in my flat are wirelessly connected to a Netgear N150 Wireless router and the connection is forever going from little to nothing. I've tried resetting everything, getting Orange to replace the router (a new Netgear N150) but still nothing. I've tried changing channels in the past but never seems to last. I can't work out if another wireless router in another flat is chomping into our connection

I recently switched internet service providers from AT&T to Time Warner and ever since I have been unable to connect to my Netgear router with my computer's wifi. However, I have successfully connected my TV wirelessly to said router. One other note, my computer's wifi seems to recognize that the netgear router is there but it just refuses to connect me to the internet

My net drops off every 20secs like clockwork, only affecting the wireless.I bought a new router yesterday to see if that would work, but it hasn't. At the moment, my router is connected to the modem, and my computer upstairs is running through the wireless connection from the router (not the modem)

I just successfully setup my wireless Netgear router to work with my laptop and desktop. I now want to get my iPhone to connect to it as a WiFi connection. It sees the available network after I enable WiFi, but when it tries to connect, it just says "unable to connect" or something after I input the password.
My current password shows in the Netgear router (through 192.168.1.1) in the "passphrase" field under Wireless Settings, and it's cp6s-n3rb-ziav. This is what I put in the password field for my particular network in the iPhone before it tells me it can't connect.
There is an option on the left column in the router for "Set password," but it's just to change it to something else. If my iPhone won't accept the current one, I don't see why it would accept a new one, and then I'd have to go and change it in the laptop, too. Without knowing if that's the issue, I'm holding off on that for right now.

I am running an i7 MSI gt683 with windows 7 with an Intel Centrino Wirelss-N 130. My home wifi connection runs off of comcast on a netgear router, and the wireless connection works on every single device in the house except for my laptop. I can run my ps3, my wii, we have an ipad, all our phones can connect and we have another laptop that connects with no issue. I have updated my drivers for my wireless card to the latest, flushed the ip on my desktop that the modem is connect to a dozen times. The only way to sometimes fix it is to manually log in to my router and release/renew the ip address from there. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. When it does work, it will work for about a week and then stop working for no reason at random times.The errors I keep getting are:Identifying network (which runs infinitely before cycling back to no internet connection)Connected with no internet access.

I have been using a cable modem gateway - Netgear CGD24G from Charter for two years. I just bought Netgear R6300 wifi rounter in order to upgrade the speed and range for my internet. My goal is to upgrade 802.11g to 802.11ac. Is there any special way to setup it up? Or do I need to contact Charter to replace a new gateway?

I recently put in a Netgear firewall, configured it, its running no problem. Then I setup a new Netgear N600 wireless router, configured it, gave it a static IP, connected to it, works like a charm. Thing is, when I try to access the web gui I receive nothing.. Is the Netgear firewall taking priority or something? I went directly connected to the netgear wifi router and double checked to make sure that there was no settings restricting administration from wifi users, etc..

For some reason, I can now only connect one laptop at a time to the network. When I try to connect a second laptop, it says, "Windows was unable to connect to [network name]". how to properly configure 2 different hardware devices to extend the current wifi signal of my home network.I'm using a Motorola SBG6580 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem as my primary access point (AP) and a Netgear N300 DGN2200v1 ADSL2+ modem router which will function "behind" the SBG6580 in repeater mode. I previously had DSL for my internet connectivity but recently switched to broadband cable for faster speeds.Due to the layout of my home, I cannot physically connect the Netgear router to the Motorola modem via ethernet cable and need both devices to communicate wirelessly. I have already done extensive reading on this subject and best practices suggest that, whenever possible, both units should be the same brand/manufacturer. The Netgear appliance does have the capability of being configured as a repeater so if I don't have to buy a "network extender" that would be my preference.I understand that both units must be configured to have the same SSID, subnet, wireless channel and security encryption. In repeater mode the Netgear router can't be configured to use WPA2-PSK so I need to use WEP instead.

For some odd reason l cannot connect to Router as keeps losing connection. I connect for a few secs then it loses connection. I can use my IPAD fine to connect to router. I have tried to use use both wireless dongle and cable to connect to ADSL router but no luck with both. I have check for spyware etc but nothing found. I get a cross on my network connectivity icon in network connections with control panel. I am using Windows xp xp2 patch , drivers and patches are upto date. Device drivers upto date also Netgear router?

Will not connect to the internet wired or wirelessly. It does turn on however. Not ISP or modem, because when comp is plugged in directly to the cable modem, internet connection works fine. I'm using a Comcast cable connection.
Router is Netgear-N 150 router wnr1000 version 2.My antivirus software is Malware bites, and when I ran it, it didn't find anything.
OS is windows 7 home premium 32 bit.Here's IPconfig:

I live out in the country at the end of a very long copper cable and my internet connection is never great at the best of times. Also live in an old house with thick walls so the family are always complaining about the poor wireless connection.So I bought a new router, netgear DGN3500, which on the whole seemed pretty good out of the box, but now it is randomly dropping the internet connection. Sometimes this is solved by rebooting the router, but just now this didn't do it and only turning it off completely for 30" and turning it back on again gave me back my connection (DownStream Connection Speed 3680 kbps, UpStream Connection Speed 416 kbps - which is as good as it gets on the end of my phone line).

I have a Netgear WNR1000v3 router. I have two computers connected with a wired connection and a couple of different devices that I connect with using the wireless connection. (Phone, Laptop, Ipad). The wired connections work fine but the wireless connection will only connect to the internet for a very short time (seconds) and then drop off. If I wait long enough I will pick it back up again. But again, for only a very short time. I have tried all the reboot procedures without any success. If I reboot the laptop, Ipad, etc., that seems to get me a connection, again for a very short time. I've checked the lights on the router and everything there says its OK. It seems to have to difference how far I am from the router. I've put the computer right next to it without success. Is the router going bad? It's only about 4 months old. Because I don't use the wireless feature often, I can't tell you if it ever worked or not. It seems to me like I was able to keep a connection when I first hooked it up but I'm not sure.

(192.168.1.1)i watched a utube video, where someone told me that i had to changed something in the basic section to 2, instead of auto.now i cant connect to my router. ive tried with multiple pc's.

I have a Dell XPS 430 desktop and a Netgear DGN2000 modem/router. My ISP is Zen. The router is connected to the PC by an ethernet cable.I have had no problems accessing the internet for years until a couple of days ago when the monitors on the info bar show a triangle with a yellow exclamation mark. The Windows Diagnose and Repair reports - Error 815. The Broadband Network Connection could not be established because the remote server is not responding.My laptop with a wireless connection to the router as no problem connecting so I assume the router is OK.

I live in an area that has no cable or dsl internet available.The only options are basic dial up or wireless internet through one of the cell phone companies.Right now I use verizon with a usb adapter.I have had this since moving here.It gets good speed and I share it witht the other 4 pcs in my house through a 5 port switch using windows xp's ics(internet connection sharing)We mainly use the internet for playing games together online.Recently though i have wanted to upgrade to a wireless network.I feel as if I 'm living in the stone age because everyone else I know is using wireless.Last night I went out and purchased a netgear n750 duel band router(model number wndr4000-100nas) after reading several guides online about how to set it up.It sounded easy enough but after 3 hours I still could not get it working.
Here is what I am trying to do.I want to basically turn the router into a switch by disabling it's routing function and let the pc that has the verizon wireless card be the host and hand out ip addresses to the other pcs.(like it is doing now)Problems I am having
1- keep getting the work offline popup when I click on anything in the router control panal(it say you are not connected to the internet would you like to connect or continue to work offline I hit work offline and it just pops up again when I click something else)
2- I think I found how to change the router's ip address and disable DHCP under lan controls but when I hit save it pops up saying I need to manually change my pc's ip address and it will not save.
I am using winxp32 sp3 and right now 5 gigabit wire lan cards.(though if I get this working I'm going to pick up wireless card for 4 of the pcs.)

I have a NetGear WNR-1000 wireless G router. I currently only have 1 computer hooked up but I have had 3 computers hooked up to it before. It doesn't matter what internet it's connected to or how it's connected to the modem itself. I have had DSL and Cable hooked up to it and I am currently using it as a secondary router behind my roommates old Wireless B router. He currently has all of his things hooked up via ethernet and wirelessly to his router. So, im download the xirrus wifi inspector thing. It doesn't matter the OS either. I've had XP sp3, vista, and 7 all hooked to it and it's the same all the way around and it doesn't matter the kind of wireless card either!

Everyone's 2wire works in bridge mode of they follow these steps url...but when i try i get no internet connection nor does it pick up any internet activity. I even input my account and dsl password in the netgear router gateway still no luck.I'm trying to use the netgear router because in my room i only get 2 signals bars and if i switch to the netgear wireless N router the signal strength would be alot better.

I am currently experiencing difficulties setting up a Netgear router (WNR834B). The router I had been using previously allowed me to access the internet, but frequently dropped the connection, especially when I connected to it via my laptop. I have the new router set up correctly (I even get a signal from it) but both the desktop computer I set it up through and my laptop cannot access the internet. When I diagnose the connection issue I get the message "The network adapter "Local Area Connection" does not have a valid IP configuration."

Ok so I have a Netgear dg834gb v2 and I have a disconnecting problem on a wireless connection for my laptop. When I am using my laptop, my connection will drop at random moments mostly when I'm playing League of Legends. If I'm not playing it rarely disconnects. It drops for about 10 seconds and comes back up usually, but sometimes I have to reset the router. It only recently started happening and I have no idea why. Maybe it can't handle when I'm playing?
