View 3 RepliesI am in a location where I can pick up great wifi signal, but when I connect to this unsecured signal, my page won't load. I ran a diagnostics & Association failed. I would also like to mention that I am also configured to use a broadband usb through a cell phone carrier, but if I can get the wifi free, I certainly don't want to pay for the broadband.By the way, it's an XP operating system.

I received this router today, I have a MacBook Pro and a iPhone. The router came with a very small cd, I was very disappointed because , when I purchased this router from amazon , the discription read that this router is Mac compatiable. But that is not true if the cd is not compatiable! My problem is I get a good signal for wifi, but I can not open any websites with my Mac or my iphone.
I deployed wireless mesh with 3 RAP and 1 MAP (AIR-LAP1522AG-E-K9 with 4 antenna) + WLC 2504. The AIR-ANT2480V-N are installed on pole from a height of 17-15 m. I noticed that I can't get a good signal (front of antenna between 40m to 60m I got between -60 and -70 dbm) with slow connection.
1) What is the best antenna height on pilone?
2) Can I use other antenna (directional) with AIR-LAP1522AG-E-K9?
3) what is the area covered by antenna?
4) the RAP and MAP establish a neighbor between them and work with same fréquence for Mesh connection. is there any impact with that?
I've been having the same issue. I'll start my laptop and it will start connecting to my home network (comcast docsis 3.0 modem to dlink dir 655 router) and be cool upstairs next to the router, but when I move downstairs the speed jumps down from 130 to 117 to 78 to 5.5 mbps. Its holding steady at 117mbps right now. I'm thinking of upgrading my router to a DIR 827 hd media router 2000 so I can get dual coverage and less interference.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 3 WAP200e APs in a client site and I am having a problem with the signal between the APs and Motorola 9000 barcode scanners. The first one went in about 6 months ago and it worked fine. The client then asked for two more to be installed in a couple of rooms adjacent to the room where the first AP was installed. They use barcode scanners with these APs and since the two new ones were installed, the first on is dropping the connection to the scanner. I have turned the new APs off and everything is back to normal. I have reduced the power output of the two new APs and the situation has improved, but they still get problems, especially on Monday morning, where it won't work at all for the first few hours, and then bursts into life and works fine for the rest of the week.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dlink DIR 615 , I can never get it to manage the time correctly, even without any down time the time always goes off by hours or days. I tried using an NTP server option... 3.ca.pool.ntp.org but it doesn't work.... so I am not able to schedule the internet effectively router that they have that keeps the time and allows them to control the Internet access that would be good. My kids are teenagers so sometimes it is like talking to a wall trying to get them to control their internet, I can easily block them entirely as I have Mac filtering set, and I will do this, but I would like to not have to constantly check to see if they are online which is easily done with Ipods.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently had to switch from a wired network to an (almost) fully wireless one, due to various circustamces.I switched to a Netgear DGN2200v3 modem/router and had to buy an Asus PCE-N15 wireless adapter for my desktop. The connection seems mostly fine on other computers, although it could be tweaked a little. Here, though, it seems just unbearable: My pc loses signal quite often and even when it's constant, sometimes it just goes too slow to actually do anything: even simply loading a page takes a couple minutes! It goes slowly most of the times, although once in a while it decides to do perfectly fine.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought a new wireless card and it is giving me grief. Until now I had been using a laptop to pick up the wireless signal from my router, and pass it along to my PC, and have been receiving excellent speeds (30 Megabit) despite being 2 floors above the router.
I bought myself a Sitecom N300 card to go in the PCI slot of my computer, and my connection is generally extremely slow, and often drops completely for minutes at a time. The strange thing, however, is that it still shows medium to strong signal strength, even when the connection drops completely!
This is completely baffling me! I can't work out what could be causing interference, or why the signal strength doesn't go down when the signal does, or why the internal laptop wi-fi receiver seems so much better than this new card with 2 massive aerials. Unfortunately my ability to move either my PC or router is somewhat limited
I'm running Windows 7, fully up-to-date, and the router is a BT Home Hub 3
A friend has 2 Asus RT-N66U's for the purpose of extending wifi range from her small companies shop to her house which is next door from each other.
from the house I can connect to the first router via wifi with a decent signal strength but what I need to do is backhaul from the other router via wifi and then have another wifi network in the house.
can this be done with just the 2 routers, or should I be looking for a cheap point to point setup and 2 separate routers?
I have an intermittent problem with one of my PCs on my wireless home network. While I always have excellent signal strength, most of the time I can not connect to the internet. All the other computers on my wireless network work fine and I can always connect to my neighbors wireless network to get internet access with the problem PC(A dell latitude E6410 with windows 7). When I have no internet access on my network and I run some diagnostics it says that my default gateway is not available.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had this router for about 3 weeks. It's only 20 feet from the computer, but my computer on 2 or 3 separate days had trouble staying connected. The signal dropped to 5 Mbps and had a little yellow symbol that said no internet access and when I looked at the properties it said, "limited or no connectivity." I got impatient and purchased a 75 ft Ethernet cable online with plans to possibly return the router as I don't really need wireless anyways and since I spent $100 on this router I expect it to work at 20 ft distance.
For the last few days it has remained at 54 Mbps or more sometimes all the way up to 108 mbps. But now since it got pretty low a few times I don't trust it enough so I might return it anyways.IPv6 connectivity says no network access. This might be because when it asked for administrator password to recognize it as a trusted home network I closed it instead of putting in the password.
I am working on an assignment for college and I was wondering if 1.01 mbps is a good internet download speed for a wireless computer?

So that i would connect to one access instead of 1of 3 access points, that would be a strong wifi signal no matter when i am in the house. Something similar to what bit malls or stores have.I have looked at wi-fi repeaters, but they just repeat the wifi and make new access point.

I used BT previously without any problems but now use Orange and now using the Internet downstairs is useless(weird flat configuration). The router is upstairs, next to TV(same location as the BT router). I dont know why the wireless Internet signal has become very weak. The only way I can use the Internet if I sit a few feet from the router. Even then, streaming videos on youtube still takes a while compared to BT. This affects all devices using wireless connection - even my Iphone is useless when used downstairs.
Signal interferance/ hacking? Router? Wireless adapter is up to date.
I recently moved and changed computers, but ive been trying to setup my Linksys WRT150N. I had one cable coming from the modem and into the port on the router labeled "internet" and then another cable coming from one of the router's ethernet ports, going into the PC.
I opened a browser and typed in 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and got to the setup page. When I search for wifi using either my laptop or my droid, it shows that there is an excellent signal and will connect to it, but when I try to perform a task that would require internet, it says that there is no internet access.
I have my Westell model 7500 in the barn office. I need the wireless internet in the apartment that was built in the front of the barn. The living room, where I need the signal for Roku, Kindle, and laptop, is approximately 60 to 70 feet from the modem. For awhile I had a low signal strength and I could use the internet but now it is nonexistent in the apartment. The Westell was provided by my internet supplier. How do I boost the signal so that I can get it in my apartment?
