I'm having trouble with the internet connection staying connected, it seems to time out in between one and five minutes of having reset the wireless adapter. I've reinstalled the network adapters back to the ones that came with the computer with no luck, updated them, still no luck, tried restarting multple times and used different browsers.

My desktop was wirelessly connected to a router. It was working perfect, I did a wired connection from the modem to the desktop and when I tried to get the wireless connection again it has not been possible. When I try network trouble shooting I get DNS server might be unavailable. Been reading around and tried many of the things that I've read but none has worked so far.

When I look at the system I can only see the Marvell Yukon PCI-E ehternet controller. That is not the wireless, is it? I think I could change it but I'm not sure which to get and where it is.

Now I'm back to wireless but I'm having this problem, my brother has been using the wireless from the beginning and still does so I'm sure it's my computer. No browsers work, no games, nothing can connect to the Internet.I'm running windows 7 and now the Internet icon in the taskbar is the computer monitor with a yellow triangle as opposed to the bars of wireless internet unless I'm connected or trying to connect to the wireless Internet that either says I have limited connectivity or is connected but doesn't work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI reformatted my father's laptop, upgrading the OS from Vista to Windows 7 but now the wireless network adapter isn't working. Basically, the laptop doesn't know that it has wireless. In device manager there is an exclamation mark against the "Atheros AR5007UG Wireless Network Adapter" entry. I've tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it, restarting the computer, updating the driver etc but it always fails to install the driver correctly. I don't know for sure the model of the network adapter, (windows tells me it's atheros but I'm not convinced seeing as the driver always fails to install) so I can't go to the manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers. I opened up the laptop but couldn't see any brand names on the network card. I don't have the cd's with the drivers on them.

I fixed that problem by launching Setup and downloading the Windows 7 installation from a jump drive. The new problem is that I cannot connect to the internet at all. My wireless connections will not show up and when I hook up my ethernet cord, it will not show up either.

I contacted the d-link support and during the process of troubleshooting the problem, the internet connection was also lost. I followed all instructions given to me by d-link teams that spoke with me but the problem was not resolved. I tried to call the d-link support but my calls were ignored . Up till now, the wireless and internet connections through DIR-655 are not working.

I used another computer to hook up with the ethernet cable because that wouldn't work wireless for some reason. A little while after that, the Linksys network stopped working completely(all three computers could not access the internet). Now I can only connect to the internet if I use a ethernet cable from the modem.

And of course, the Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adaptor.It seems that no matter what I do wireless capability cannot be enabled. I tried turning the wireless capability button on and off but to no avail. Then I pressed FN+F2 and it didn't fix it. In both those situations a box which displays the status of the wireless LAN connection comes up, however, it reads "OFF" regardless of me performing the above two "fixes." According to my computer the card is enabled and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device driver but nothing changed.
I cannot stay connected to the internet with my Asus. When I troubleshoot, it says the wifi was not on, turns it on, but I lose connection again and then can't get it back. Brand new. No hardware button.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems with connecting wirelessly with my laptop (Inspiron 1525). Suddenly it's only able to connect to the local network, but I have no internet access. When I've tried to diagnose the problem, it's given me the option to reset the network adapter, but that hasn't solved the problem. The person who started this thread seems to have similar issues - [URL], however, unlike him my drivers aren't missing. I tried downloading the Dell driver which applies to my WLAN card and reinstalling it anyway, but that didn't work. When I go to device manager, the device status claims that the device is working properly. I also did a system restore but the situation remains unchanged...I still can't connect to my wireless!
My computer is running Vista and prior to this happening I hadn't reinstalled or tried to change any settings, it just seems to have happened spontaneously.
1) We have client setup, which has all PCs in Workkgroup , client has network sharing enable in LAN . Its work well in LAN , he don't have Local DNS , still he is able to ping or access sharing using device hostname
2) When Client moves into Wireless , he is not able to ping or access sharing using Hostname , but if used the ip details he is able to ping and do sharing using IP address onlye.
My Wireless Setup has WLC2504 and LWAPP Access Points.
My computer used to work fine with wifi but all of a sudden the wifi is not working. At the bottom of the screen I get the bluetooth icon and the little icon with green tick that comes up when you plug in a usb keeps on flashing. The computer show wireless networks available but the next second they disappear. I have installed the driver from dell website, reinstalled the windows and the driver couple of time but the problem persists.
I tried to locate the driver and the hardware and when I go to Device Manager the list keeps on refreshing every 10 seconds.
Under the device manager Network Adapters I can see Broadcom 440x10/100 Integrated Controller and Microsoft ISATAP Adapter 2 (the later keeps coming and disappearing every 10 seconds)
Under the other devices I see yellow semi colon next to Base Sys Device (3 times) and Network controller.

my boss has a vostro 1500 laptop and is constantly losing internet connection. View 14 Replies View RelatedI cannot get the Guest Network feature to work.Even though Guest SSID is enabled, it does not show up on any devices attempting to connect. Manually connecting by entering the Guest SSID fails (not recognized). On devices with the primary 5 and 2.4 GHz configured they do see the third network but without SSID (unknown) and are also unable to connect to it manually using the SSID.I did not try this before 1.0.02. Have rebooted modem and verified all configs (multiple times). The network is live in an office and can't keep screwing with it or drastically changing its settings.

(The router at work is Cisco 2811.)A couple months ago, I finally upgraded my home router to a Linksys E1000. We are trying to connect an apple tv, so we can stream picture, videos etc from ipads and Macbooks to a large display for media teaching.The setup works at home, but not at work.The apple TV is on the same network as the wireless apple devices, (we use a 10.6.4.x-10.6.5.254 range), both are dhcping the addresses (have tried fixing but that made no difference). I've enabled multicasting and igmp snooping and set the multicast address as 239.0.0.0 and it still doesn't work.

There are two available wifi connections and it will not connect to either. I have followed my university's instructions to connect to the internet but no good. When I run troubleshooter the error says "unable to configure ip address" or something along those lines. I have reinstalled the network adapter, changed firewall setting. View 1 Replies View RelatedWRT610N router with v2 firmware stopped working correctly. It loses wired connection via LAN ports.My home network has one PC connected to LAN port 1 and two PC connected via Wi-Fi.Recently unexpectedly the PC with wired connection lost connection.
The symptoms are the following:
- The DHCP local network address is obtained not every time.
- The router (192.168.1.1) not usually responds to ping (returns "host is unreacheable) and I even unable to connect to router's web interface.
- The led for the 3rd LAN port on the front face of router is always on while nothing was ever connected to this port.
- Wi-Fi clients (Windows XP) obtain DHCP address for 30 seconds then report that connection is limited and in a few seconds report that everything is
- The internet for both type of clients is almost not accessible (Wi-Fi is better)
Sometimes (but very rarely the wired connection works fine.
I suppose in my case this is a hardware problem. Can this be repaired of fixed somehow?
The other day I went to a friends house, came back home, booted up my PC, and my wireless network adapter wasn't working. I've tried everything to fix it.It's a D-Link DWA-525 802.11n Wireless PCI netowrk adapter. On device manager it just says 802.11 Wireless LAN Card with a yellow exclamation next to it. And when I check what the error is, it's either error 31 or 52 at different times, depending what I've tried to do to fix it.I tried downloading the driver for it off the D-Link website, nothing happens at all when I install it. I tried taking it out of my computer and plugging it in. I tried enabling it and disabling it on device manager.I noticed one thing, when it's in my computer the green light at the back that says activity next to it isn't on.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have run three computers on my wireless network for a few years now, and have an HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless printer that has worked seamlessly on all computers. That is, until I secured my router. I had an open wireless connection that I changed to secure (WPA) a couple of weeks ago and have been unable to connect to my printer wirelessly to print. It will print if connected to USB. The first day I was able to enter in my WPA key just fine, but not since. It doesn't appear to be finding my connection. Oddly enough one of our computers (a laptop) is able to print to this printer so I am not sure. All computers are running Windows XP, I believe with SP3. I use a D-link wireless router. I have tried using the HP solutions to no avail and have checked in the documentation that came with the printer.As an aside, I now appear to also have another wireless connection which is a "computer-to-computer" connection, I believe an ad-hoc connection?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am beginning to get many emails from users who have recently upgraded to OS6 and saying now they cannot connect to our open access wireless network. We use a separate server that users must agree to a user agreement page and they say they get it, but after agreeing, it goes blank and they cannot connect. I am using mostly Cisco 3502's with the 5508 controller using 7.0.112.0 IOS version. Nobody in our IT department has yet to test OS6 yet.

I'm having a networking issue that I cannot resolve.My DirecTV HD DVR receiver (HR21-700) shows a working connection to both my network and internet. However, the STB services port (range of 27161-27192) will not connect through my router (linksys E4200) automatically or manually (Dtv error code 301). By connecting the receiver directly to my modem, the STB services port will connect as it should. I also have a XB360 (LAN), BluRay Player (LAN), two PCs, & Wireless Bridge connected with absolutely no issues. Each are manually configured with a static IP and the proper ports forwarded.I am STUMPED and FRUSTRATED to say the least.Other than the manual setup of these devices, my networking knowledge is not very broad.Are there any settings or configurations that I may be overlooking?The uPnP is enabled, NAT is enabled, and all firewalls are turned off.

I have an external drive connected to a mac mini which is shared on the network. When transferring folders to or from that external drive, our internet connection stops working until the transfer finishes, then comes back up. I've tested this in a variety of ways. Any transfer of data from shared folders in any combination of devices causes internet to stop working both on wired and wireless devices until the transfer is done, then they all work again. My company have a Cisco PIX 525 firewall which is cater for NOC internal data network and also voice network, the subnet for data network is 192.168.2.0/24 and the subnet for voice network is 172.16.2.0/24. someday this NOC firewall was faulty. I was migrated the data network from this NOC firewall to the other temporary firewall just at the moment. And the voice network i migrated it from where it orginal at NOC firewall to a VOIP system which actually having a connection with my temporary firewall(This temporary FW only to take the traffic of data network). After the migration of data network from old firewall to temporary firewall and also the migration of voice network from old firewall to PABX system. The subnet for data network remain the same as 192.168.2.0/24, but the subnet of voice network i edit from 172.16.2.0/24 to 192.168. 3.0/24.Now when i want to use one Cisco router 2600 to replace this temporary firewall then facing problem at the voice network....The data network after migrated from temporary firewall to new 2600 is ok, users can browsing. But when i trying to at the same time when the data network been migrated , it will affect the voice network which still located at PABX. ..user cannot make call...I was thinking reason because this voice network which currently in 192.168.3.0/24 is tight to somewhere on the 192.168.x.x at the old firewall internetwork. So, when i migrated the data network over to new router, it will also cause the failure of voice even thought after i migrated the voice system to new router.So when i do the disaster recovery back to the temporary firewall for both data and voice. The voice is resuming to normal.
