Mar 7, 2013I recently purchased a Wi-Fi repeater (Siemens Gigaset Repeater WLAN SE365) to boost my wi-fi signal throughout my house without having to drill through walls of concrete (with a boost in phone wi-fi in mind on the top floor of the house). I was advised to buy one specifically with the make and model of my router in mind, as connectivity might be an issue if these don't match up. I own a Siemens Gigaset SX55 router so there should be no issue there (I can use the repeater on 2 different frequencies, not sure which one is best, 2.4 or 5 ghz). The instruction manual told me to connect the repeater to my pc once (through use of an Ethernet-cable supplied) so I could alter the settings of the repeater to match with that of my router (same SSID, protection method, channel). Whereas naming it the same as the router by modifying the SSID and using the same ASCII WEP-protection password as the router were doable, I could not find an option to change a channel.
At this point the instruction manual was fresh out of ideas and told me that I had set up the repeater as it should be installed. After unplugging it from my pc and plugging the regular ethernet cable back in for internet (There is wi-fi coming from the router downstairs but also a cable through the house to the pc) I was ready to go and seeing the wi-fi bars on my phone jump up to maximum made me extremely happy. Unfortunately the phone (and the app Wifi Analyzer) did recognize the full signal but when trying to open sites or apps that use internet it responded as if it had no signal whatsoever

The TV has two modes of setting up access to the Network Neighbourhood DHCP IP (AUTO) and Fix IP (Manual) I can't get either to connect and I suspect I have to change something on the Router.When I select auto setup I get "On: DHCP not ready!" when I set the fixed IP I get "On: Can't get any IP" The TV handbook is no goog, there are 3 things to be set 1) IP address but it does not say IP address of what - Router, Desktop computer or TV. 2) Network mask is no problem. 3) default gateway does not specipy if this should be the IP address of the Router, WAN or desktop computer. I have tried every combination of each and always get the same result. The router has Full internet Gateway Device IGD support enabled.

Jan 5, 2013I use to be running on firmware 1.0.2.4 with ProtectLink-Web working great, but then it expired. Some time later I updated the router to 1.0.4.17 and purchased a three year subscription to ProtectLink-Web, followed the registration link on the router, obtained an activation code, followed the activation link on the router and activated the service, however it didn't activate on the router.
I try to activate again and Trend Micro's site just says that it's already been activated. I contacted Trend Micro support and they see the activation attempts on there end and they said everything should be working. They recommended a factory reset which I performed and then attempted activation again, and again their site says that the service has already been activated. And yet when I go to Cisco ProtectLink Web > License > Summary it just says: "Please activate ProtectLink License to display the license information" and wont allow me to access the features. What is going on? Could the firewall be blocking the service? I didn't have this trouble the first time I used ProtectLink with f/w 1.0.2.4

Oct 28, 2012I'm trying to activate parental control for the F5D7231-4 (2000). When I go to the parental control screen, I only get a button to subscribe now (see image). When I click the button, I am sent to the Belkin UK website. I cannot find out how to get the parental controls activated on the U.S. site. I am running the latest firmware (F5D7231-4_US_5.01.11 ).
Update: I looked at the source code for the page in the router...it's referencing a website : [URL] that no longer seems to be valid. Or is this a problem in the firmware ?

There's no DHCP server in our school and uses below :

255.255.0.0 Subnet
192.168.1.254 Gateway
210.220.16.7 DNS address.
So I seted these settings on the configuration page, but when I connect to the WAP4410N wireless, I can't connect to the internet. Problem reporter in Windows 7says there's IP adress problem on the access point. ...but the ip address is correct. I did everything on the manual ....
Second, AP-1131AG. I entered with console cable and changed the ip address. And I enabled wireless radio(default:disabled) but I cannot find SSID with wlan. I added SSID on SECURITY-SSID manager. It says 'interface on' on 802.11a/g, but it is the same. I can't find SSID. other labtops can't, too.. tried using vlan. FAILED....

The problem is that I don't have the mesh option to configure indoor mesh inside the controller. In chapter 9 of Wireless LAN Controller Configuration Guide, Release 7.0.116.0 says that I have to go to Wireless Menu and select the AP. When I am inside the AP general page, the guide says I have to go to the Mesh tab, but that tab doesn't appear in the controller GUI. Do I have to use another image in the controller? Or do you have to use an special mesh code or something like that? Because in the download page of the controller it only appears the 7.0.116.0, two more new versions but there is nothing about mesh image.
