Netgear WNR2000 router.
Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard connected to router through wireless.
Windows 7 Desktop getting internet through the MBP ethernet.
I can't figure out how to be a part of my "Home Network" with my Win7 Machine so I can see other computers in my house, use my networked printers, etc. I can only see the MBP it is connected to in network panel. I want to be able to stream the movies on this computer to my iPad which is connected to the wireless router.

Oct 3, 2012I have been using a cable modem gateway - Netgear CGD24G from Charter for two years. I just bought Netgear R6300 wifi rounter in order to upgrade the speed and range for my internet. My goal is to upgrade 802.11g to 802.11ac. Is there any special way to setup it up? Or do I need to contact Charter to replace a new gateway?

Apr 21, 2011I am having problems with my linksys wireless G ADSL gateway WAG54GS router. I am on Windows Vista/Internet Explorer. When I set up the router to work on the internet when I first bought it (several years ago), something must have gone wrong in the installation because it works only when connected to the computer by the lead, and NOT wirelessly.
While this is fine for general internet browsing etc on the main computer, my problem now is that I cannot connect anything else to it (such as my Playstation 3) because the router does not work wirelessly and I do not have the WPA key that the PS3 asks for. Is there any way can fix this without doing a complete reset on the router?
[ALSO: the router also periodically goes wrong, e.g. loses connection for no reason at all - I often have to disable and then enable the internet connection, or turn the router off for 15 seconds then switch it on again, and then it's fine again. I live in a rural area though, so it might be because of a poor connection. Our telephone connecton isn't very good either and sometimes goes wrong.]
Netgear 7550 B90 - Upgrade Gateway From 2wire Wireless G?
Oct 2, 2012I have at&t DSL.I NEEDED to upgrade my wireless gateway from the 2wire wireless-G gate way that I had.I also have a Netgear WNDR-4000 750N Wireless Dual Band Router.
I know I needed an at&t modem to run my DSL, so I purchased (before reading reviews) a Netgear 7550 Wireless Gateway from at&t (they did not have any "N" single user modems (if there is such a thing).I have read through other posts that it is possible to connect the two and I would not need the 7550 for anything else but a modem (disabling broadcast).
The question is ... do I REALY need to do all this or can I just get away with the 7550?Or will the Netgear WNDR-4000 750N Wireless Dual Band Router, if installed and used, fix some of the issues that other 7550 users have said in other posts?
Wireless ... I have 3 gaming systems, two PC's, a tablet and 4 smartphones.I will be using 3 wired ports ... 1 gaming system, PC, and a blue-ray.
And yes, my 2wire wireless-g gateway ran all these ... not efficiently or reliably, but they all did run.
I have not received the Netgear 7550 yet, just trying to get some opinions on which setup would be better.

Netgear WNDR4000 Wireless Does Not Work When Secured
Oct 23, 2011I recently bought a Netgear WNDR4000 router. The wired network is working fine, but the wireless network is giving me problems I don't understand.
I am using the following equipment to connect to the wireless network:
- Samsung Galaxy S2 mobilefoon (supports N speeds)
- Asus laptop (supports G speeds)
With both devices I want to connect to the 2.4 Ghz (b/g/n) wireless network with the following settings:
- Channel: auto
- Speed: 145 Mps max.
- Security: WPA2-PSK [AES]
- Preamble modus: long
- Fragmentation length: 2346
- CTS/RTS: 2347
Latest firmware has been installed.
Here is what happens:
- When resetting the router to factory settings I can connect with both devices mentioned (security is not enabled)
- When setting the WPA2 security key for the first time, I can connect with both devices.
- When I try to connect with either device for the second time I cannot connect, messages (from mobile phone):
The nework SSID is visible Trying to connect Connection broken Network remembered
And then a loop is present that keeps trying to connect, but almost never succeeds. Maybe once in a hundred attempts. When a connection is made, it works fine for as long as the connections stays present. After the connection is broken, it all starts over again. The 5 Ghz network is behaving exactly the same (only tested with my mobile phone, laptop doesn't support 5Ghz network).
I have lowered the speeds and tried different channels, but behavior stays the same.

Linksys Wired Router :: RV082 Gateway 2 Gateway VPN Can't Ping
Jul 26, 2012We have a VPN setup between two Cisco RV082 routers, the VPN status shows as connected however I can't ping the other network. I am unable to ping between routers, let alone ping computers behind those routers.
We have 2 branches, branch 1 is on a static IP and branch 2 is Dynamic. I am able to connect via QuickVPN from Branch 2 to Branch 1 and remote desktop to computers, however have yet to VPN/remote desktop in the opposite direction.
To me it seems like a firewall issue at branch 2, but what's causing this. Also they are currently running 2 differnet firmware version not sure if this would cause a problem.

I have called Netgear to explain the issue and was on the phone with them for 45 minutes.They did get the laptop to work but my desktop still does not. They told me it was a browser error. If I disconnect the ethernet cable from the router to my computer everything works perfect.I tried to reinstall the CD that came with the router and as I try to get through step 2 it says no router detected.I think this is my hold up but I have no way to know how to fix this. I have been able to successfully establish a gateway to gateway vpn connection between them both, and I can remotely administer each router through the VPN connection, but I am unable to ping computers from one side of the connection to the other. For example, a computer in the 10.10.1.0 subnet can't see / ping / communicate with a computer in the 192.168.1.0 subnet.
