Is there any way to make it so that my computer has two internet connections, so to my router it looks my computer is two separate computers, and would this increase my speed, since my router is made for up to 15 connections and has only 300mb/s to give out, so [would]each computer is[be] only limited to 20mb/s? As of now I have a dlink xtreme-n DWA-552 adapter in my computer.
My problem lies with my router shutting off when my computer goes to sleep or is shut off in any way. I even tried unplugging it, which is not good at all for it. I use my router for several other wireless devices so this is bad. I use a Motorola modem that fits to a D-Link router. The modem appears to stay on when I'm having trouble. the route5r is a "DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router"
My home desk top is set up with D-Link Xtreme N Dual Band Router. I have no problems accessing the internet on my desk top computer. I am trying to access my home wireless network through my HP laptop computer. The wireless network status is Limited or no Connectivity. I've tried the "repair" button with no resolution. The wireless connection is set to automatic.
I have a dlink router. Dir615 I believe. After installing hotspot Shield on my desktop, I can no longer connect to my router from my laptop, which I did not even install Hotspot shield in. when trying to connect, nothing happens. the wireless icon on the taskbar does not show that its trying to connect.
I have a new Dlink wireless router. Previously I had a Belkin router. The new one was said to have stronger signal. I am not able to connect via wireless to the router from a PC with Windows Vista. It works fine when I use a cable. Then I am able to connect to Internet via the router. Also, I am able to print on a wireless printer. It is also possible to use Internet from an Ipad with wifi. The Belkin router had a different network, 192.168.2....When the cable is connected I can ping 192.168.0.1 but not when I remove the cable. In Windows Vista the connection has status "connected". When the cable is connected, the ipconfig /all is printed as below. It is a Swedish version. Some translated words:
Trdls = Wireless Ja = Yes Nej = No Frnkopplad = Disconnected
My wireless devices are having a hard time connecting though my router. They see the router and can connect to it but cannot get on the internet. When I go into my router and check Wireless Status to see connected devices the window is empty. Usually if I reboot my router some of my devices will connect but if I leave them idle for any amount of time the connection is dropped. Suggestions. I have Dell 530 desktop running Vist Home Premium and the router is Dlink Dir 615. The desktop has no issues connecting to the internet as it is connected through LAN port
i have a Dlink DSL-2730U (an expensive, el cheapo router devoid of any functionalities, which also offers a way to connect to net as a side feature).basically i need to disconnect / reconnct pppoe without rebooting the router. but theres no button on the wan page for doing so.i noticed clicking on most of the buttons redirect to some non-html urls, like .cmd, .cgi etc, and some of them are common for many routers. e.g. on my router, "reboot" takes me to

Do i need to connect the ethernet wire to my modem then connect my computer to it wirelessly? Do I need to connect the ehernet wire to my modem and connect my computer to it via another ethernet port in the router? Do I even need to connect my ethernet wire to my modem in the first place?
Now I am no techi but I think i have set evrything up ok but when i input my host name in ie all that happens is that it brings up my router admin page. I started the FTP Server at the dlink and forwarded port 80 and port 21 to the ipadress from my NAS, surely i activated it. Port 80 for the webmask Port 21 for the FTP server. If i connected me at my homenetwork and typ in my browser: ftp://"username".dyndns.org the ftp server works, also the webmask from the Sharecenter. If i want to connect me from my work or other pc's, the ftp didn't work. can't ping "username".dyndns.org
I have a WD, 1TB, external harddrive with a USB connection and would like to know if it is possible to get a USB hub with an ethernet connector to connect into the back of my router. Is it possible to do this? If so, what will I need to do? Will I need to give the external drive a static IP address, then partition it?
My desktop internet was working fine earlier today. I bought a new hard drive and installed it without any trouble. I plugged my machine back in and received a "no internet connection" message. I have tried (what I think is) everything: unplugged my modem and router and plugged it back in as if it was the first time with the 60 second pauses and whatnot; tested the connection with my cable modem service provider; unplugged and checked cable connections; did ipconfig/flushdns ... I'm really not sure where to go from here.My wireless configuration works fine, as I am able to connect both wirelessly and wired to the router on my laptop. I cannot connect via the modem or router to my desktop PC.Windows 7 running 64-bit, Motorola Surfboard modem (brand new), Medialink router (also brand new), custom built machine.
getting my computer connected to the internet.I have a fresh install of XP Media Center Edition with SP2. I don't really have anything else installed as I wanted to make sure my internet connection was working to get updates. My computer is a Dell XPS720 desktop I have a DSL connection with [URL] and a Dlink Wireless Router DIR655.I have two portable computers that are on the local network with wireless connections and they are working o.k.On my desktop at the command prompt; I cannot "ping" anything and "ipconfig /all" returns nothing at all.
Our previous wireless router (Netgear Rangemax wpn802) died yesterday so I went out and bought a Western Digital My Net N900. The issue is that now anyone using the wireless signal can't connect to a shared network folder that they were previously able to connect to using the old router.
I'm not able to log into the old router to see any of its settings. I do have access to the server that has the shared folder - I just don't have any idea what needs to be set in order for the N900 to allow me through to the shared folder - whether it's on the router side or the server side.
i just recently built a new computer (well today) and i plugged in a wirless usb adaptor that was about 2 years old and it was pretty fast but it still lagged my game starcraft (i was just trying it out to see how the computer would handle it). I went out and bought a brand new xtreme N desktop PCI adapter and it is even slower, and it disconnects every 5 seconds it seems. I installed it correctly and installed all the drivers, I also have rebooted the computer and it is still slow and wont even connect for a full youtube video. am i doing something wrong or is my adapter the problem (i am doing this on my laptop which is right beside my computer and is still connected to the internet).i cannot wire my computer to my router because it is to far away so that isn't a solution.
I was wondering if the EA3500 would support splitting the USB (buying a USB tree) to allow for both a printer and hard drive to connect at the same time?
I'm trying to get my local MAC address changed for Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx adapter in D620 running winXP. Based on Broadcom advice this should be pretty straightforward. In Microsoft Windows, right-click the Network Adapter in Network Connections and then click Properties. Click the Configure button and then the General tab. Configure the "Locally Administered Address" parameter by assigning a unique node address for the adapter. Netware: The Mac Address is configured by the adding Node=XXXXXXXXXXXX parameter to driver load command line in the AUTOEXEC.NCF file, where XXXXXXXXXXXX is the Locally Administered address.
However after clicking "configure" in "general" tab I see only "Driver Details, Update Driver, Roll Back Driver, Uninstall" buttons, on "advanced" tab I see "802.1p QOS", "Flow Control" "Speed and Duplex" and "Wake up Capabilities", however I CAN'T see "Locally Administered Address".I've tried :
- reinstalling drivers, at the moment using latest from Broadcom, from 2006-12-15 - reinstalling Dell's drivers - installing Broadcom's Control suite
I use a D-Link DWA-552 Xtreme Wireless-N PCI adapter on my Windows XP Home SP3 desktop computer that has been working flawlessly for months, until last night when it suddenly stopped being able to connect.I was just on the web last night doing what I normally do, and all of a sudden out of no where I lost internet connection and I couldn't get it back. I've tried resetting the router downstairs, I've tried restarting and shutting down the computer, and did three system restores (that all failed anyway), and none of these things are getting my connection back. Now also for some reason I can't even open up my network adapter's wireless network manager anymore because it closes itself not even a second after I boot it up.The modem and router downstairs look perfectly fine and all the other computers in the house, even the laptops, can all connect but mine, so something must be up with my network adapter.
I have two d link 604 and want to connect both together so that any pc connected to the repeater can connect to the internet. I am running win xp sp3,p4,2gb,asus p4p800-vm with all updates and firmware of router updated.
This is my first post and I'm not very techy, but our home computer running Windows XP Professional recently lost its connection to the internet and I cannot get it back. This particular desktop computer is connected by a cable to the router. I have two other laptops connected wirelessly through the same router and have access to the internet, however the regular "J&A" network normally associated with the router cannot be connected to. Instead another wireless signal source called "DLink 4 (dlink)" is the connection point. This automacally disconnects when I unplug the router, so I'm assuming the router works fine, but the network is compromised somehow.
I have been putting up with rubbish wireless signal down one end of my house now for quite some time. So I thought I have a spare wireless router and I could put it down there but I am sure ts not as easy as just plugging it and away you go.
Network Setup
Router 1 is a D-Link DIR-655 Router 2 is a D-Link DI-524
I need to know how to setup Router 2 so it basically become just a wireless access point
Having issus trying to connect though SBG6580. Have tried everything, including factory reset and no luck. Called tech support for my ISP and they weren't
I was told that I need to make sure that ssl port 443 is open, I confirmed that it is at port 443 - Connection Check , I'm still unable to access my gmail account, I was wondering if I need to enable anything on my modem to allow that sort of connection to go through, I'm using D-Link DSL-2640B
