Keep Getting Disconnected From Dlink DGL-4500 Router?
Oct 5, 2011
Our router is a Dlink DGL-4500. Over the last 15 minutes I've been disconnected and reconnected about 5 or 6 times. This happens every so often. But even without it I get disconnected several times per day.I need to be able to stay online and for some certain programs to run, if they get disconnected I will have to reconnect manually and I can't do this if I am not near my computer.I think the problem is specific to my laptop. Most of the time I stay online ok, except for the lapses I've mentioned. I asked someone else in our house if they have been getting disconnected and they say they haven't. Here's an IPconfig and in the next quote box, I did an IPconfig/all>C:esults.txt, which I've posted the content of[CODE]
I have a DGL-4500 D-Link router as a base. And a DAP 1522 Ethernet Bridge I use to connect 3 devices and another router I am looking to host a media Server for the house(on the bridge).
Is there a way to have the router reboot every day automatically? Every few days no one on the network is able to use the internet until the router gets rebooted (which has to be done by unplugging it at that point, since I'm by then unable to connect via the web interface), and having it automatically reboot every day at a time when everyone is usually sleeping would be very convenient.
I have been putting up with rubbish wireless signal down one end of my house now for quite some time. So I thought I have a spare wireless router and I could put it down there but I am sure ts not as easy as just plugging it and away you go.
Network Setup
Router 1 is a D-Link DIR-655 Router 2 is a D-Link DI-524
I need to know how to setup Router 2 so it basically become just a wireless access point
I have a US Robotics 5462 router and a D-Link DCM-202 cable modem on Comcast. I've had this router for years and initially configured it for wireless access using a Windows XP system (this router requires you to configure it via Ethernet and 192.168.2.1). That computer stopped working last year, so I got a new computer running Windows 7.When I first got this new PC, I could not connect to my router via Ethernet (just like I can't now), but I was still able to connect to the wireless network I had previously set up, so I was satisfied.
A year went by, and last week I was suddenly unable to access my wireless network, so I did a factory reset on the router, erasing my previously configured wireless network and requiring me to connect the router to my computer via Ethernet to reconfigure the router. I tried to do this, but despite all of the correct LEDs being lit on the router, I could not access 192.168.2.1. A little poking around on my control panel revealed that my LAN was being labeled as an "Unidentified Network" and there was "No Internet Access." I tried to make it a private network, but that didn't fix the issue.
I searched around for a while and read some advice to try running ipconfig. When I did that, I saw "Media Disconnected" for my LAN adapter. I've tried a few of the possible solutions already with no luck. With the same computer and the same Ethernet cable directly connected to my modem instead of through the router, I *CAN* get online. That's how I'm connected right now. Also, I have no problem accessing any wi-fi networks.
I have an iBoss router at home that is secured. Occasionally, I'll noticed, I am no longer connected to the iBoss router and connected to an unsecured router named linksys?
Using the manual settings under Status/Router and clicking the Disconnect button (by Login Status), the page reloads, and say I am disconnected.
Without any input from me, about 30 seconds later the page reloads and say I am connected.
Clicking disconnect, closing the tab and testing my connection proves that I'm not actually being disconnected at all. I cannot force this router to manually disconnect.
Is this a firmware bug or is there another setting else where that prevents me from manually shutting down my connection?
I have a E2000 for a half a year now.We have been on hollyday for 5 days so my routers has been shutdown.Today it happend 3 times that my complete LAN disconnected for no reasonI didn't have any wired or wireless connection.

I owe a SG200 26 port switch and it works fine so far.Amacintosh computer (mountain lion) has been added to the wired net. Everything works fine t first, but there's a sudden disconnection issue. It seems that the macintosh computer is not able to communicate to the switch, and the macintosh prompts a lack of cable connection. None of the lights on the switch are on.If I plug the macintosh cable directly to a router ethernet port, it works properly.
I have two routers, a Telkom Mega 100WR and a Belkin F6D4630-4 v2. First I used the Mega 100WR and it randomly disconnected, then Belkin (which is new) and that too randomly disconnected. The funny thing is, both of them use to work.
I have external hard drive connected to E3000. It is formatted as NTFS and working fine. However if I disconnect from router and connect to PC usb port directly, I get a message that hard drive needs to be formatted.
I will be working from home half the time and am trying to get set up. So here it goes:
Took PC #1 home and hooked everything up. Could access Internet.Had to bring PC #2 home because #1 didn’t have the programs I needed.Hooked #2 up, no internet access.Tried different network cable – no access.Tried different router port – no access. (router port light doesn’t illuminate, neither does port on PC)My personal PC that uses the same router has internet access.Hooked #1 back up as a test – could access internet.Hooked up #2 again, did a Run, cmd, ipconfig and got “media disconnected”I brought #2 back in for a PC tech to look at. He hooked it up in his office, had internet access.Took it back home and hooked everything up.The port lights illuminated on startup; but after it got to the desktop, lights are off.Tried ipconfig again, "media disconnected”. IP address doesn’t display.
All the while I have internet access on my own PC, plus when I hook up #1 to the same port using the same cable, I have internet access, which led me to believe it's something wrong with PC #2.Tech is saying it’s a problem with my router (Cisco E2500), which I restarted too.
I want to share PC internet (PPPOE connection) on my linksys wireless router (E3000)Problem : When i directly connect internet wire in router, pppoe connection frequently gets disconnected. So what i wanted was to share my pc internet on router.I have two lan card on windows 7 installed PC, 1st lan card is connected to internet cable and i can access internet on pc, second lancard is connected to wireless router. So basically what i want is to share pc internet ( PPPOE ) on wireless router through DHCP connection type.
I have a Linksys router (model BEFSR41) and I all the outputs going to two computers and two gaming systems (X360 and PS3). I have had the router for over a year and it works fine, but I recently decided to attempt to have my 360 access the media on my computer by linking the two together through the Media Center. To do this, I needed to enable my router to allow UPnP (according to Microsoft help). When I did enable this, the router would disconnect me every 2-5 seconds from the internet, then would reconnect me right away.I have no clue why it was doing this (it occured across all of my devices) so I just disabled UPnP and things went back to normal. How to fix this so that I can have a consistent and stable connection when I have UPnP enabled?
I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop with Windows 7 and a PC with XP. The Laptop has Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card, i think it supports 802.11g. My PC has DLINK DWA 525 PCI WIRELESS card, this supports 802.11g and n. The wireless router is Belkin Surf Wireless Router (F7D2301zb).
Now, the problem i'm facing is when PC is connected first and later when laptop is connected, the computer gets disconnected. Laptop works fine. I have to restart the router to connect both.
Is it due to the difference in 802.11 G and N of Laptop and PC ?
I needed a faster router because of expanding peripherals. I bought the EA 4500 because I was told that it was the top of the line and the next thing to sliced bread. I needed a VPN to use with this router but when attempting to subscribe I found out that it was not compatible to with VPN and that I needed a firmware,,,DD-WRT, Tomato or PF-Sense compatibility.....Further research indicates that none of those firmware can work with the EA 4500.
I have already successfully upgraded the firmware to DD-WRT with no problems. What I want to do is have the D-Link DIR-601 Router set as a Repeater Bridge because I am trying to expand my wireless signal to dead spots in the house.I have NO SECURITY enabled on my NetGear Router and I am still unable to successully setup the D-link DIR-601 Router as a Repeater Bridge.
For reasons that are slowly pushing me over the edge of insanity, I have to reset this dumb router!!
I press the stupid little button on the back of it, the lights go out, one amber one comes on etc. etc. but when I go to 192.168.0.1, everything is still the same!!
Like the passwords are still there and nothing has changed! I thought resetting it was supposed to wipe all that stuff out so you could start from scratch? Also pulled the power cord in and out a zillion times but no way it will reset!
As an aside, I am having no end of problems getting my iPads (2) and iPhones (2) to connect to the wireless network! The "Network Discovery" button will not stay checked and though I have done all the Googling and been into Services to start things running, no way it is going to work!
But I digress, how do I get this fool of a router to reset properly?
I have a dlink router. Dir615 I believe. After installing hotspot Shield on my desktop, I can no longer connect to my router from my laptop, which I did not even install Hotspot shield in. when trying to connect, nothing happens. the wireless icon on the taskbar does not show that its trying to connect.
I reset the router and now it doesn't have a default gateway address. It stops on the check for network status when trying the install wizard and says it can't install it.
I purchased a D-Link DGL-4500 to replace my aging WRT54G around a year ago, only to find it nowhere near as reliable. It's been collecting dust since.I'm wondering if there is a way to use it as a wireless bridge so I can connect it to my home network and then use it's ethernet ports to provide network access to several devices.
I have purchased a Dlink DWR 131 today. I did configure it as per the instructions. Initially my iPhone was able to detect the wireless network. Then I switched off the device and turned it on later and it stopped working. It is not damaged for sure, since http://192.168.0.1/ is still accessible from my laptop and I am able to connect to internet through LAN cable. But the wireless network is not working. Even my laptop doesn't detect the network neither does my iPhone. I suspect this to be some configuration issue. I have tried using different SSIDs. Also, MAC filter is disabled. I also tried using different wireless channels. I even did reset the router but no luck.
i have a dlink dir-628 and it not working problem. the power light, local network led and even the dlink logo is blinking. it was working fine yesterday but it just stopped working randomly, i tried to reset but that doesnt even work,
i want to set up my wireless router it is currently set on a static ip but i want to set up in pppoe(username/password) mode i set up once in pppoe but internet is not working?
I have a PC connected to the internet via a d-link 615 router and a cable modem. The PC is hardwired to the modem and the laptop can connect wirelessly via the router.I own a HP 6280 Network MFD and would like to locate this in a separate room to the PC.I own a Linksys WAG54GS mobem router from my last ADSL connection. Can I site the wireless router with the MFD and use it as a wireless hub?
Need installing dlink router dir-615 version b2. I tried installing it but when i try to use my browsers, i'm redirected to my isp's web page, and i can not connect with skype.
I have a new Dlink wireless router. Previously I had a Belkin router. The new one was said to have stronger signal. I am not able to connect via wireless to the router from a PC with Windows Vista. It works fine when I use a cable. Then I am able to connect to Internet via the router. Also, I am able to print on a wireless printer. It is also possible to use Internet from an Ipad with wifi. The Belkin router had a different network, 192.168.2....When the cable is connected I can ping 192.168.0.1 but not when I remove the cable. In Windows Vista the connection has status "connected". When the cable is connected, the ipconfig /all is printed as below. It is a Swedish version. Some translated words:
Trdls = Wireless Ja = Yes Nej = No Frnkopplad = Disconnected
This is an ongoing problem and I am wondering if a firmware update is called for. We have had the router for some time and to the best of my knowledge nothing has been done to fix the problem except the old "unplug for 10 seconds" routine. There are now four users on the home network with multiple devices.
