Is it possible to use ADSL Wireless router (one with RJ11 WAN in) to connect to cable net? If not is there any which can allow me to connect to cable net in future if in case I change to cable net ISP.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect a cat 6 cable from the Ext Nte to the adsl nexuslink 5631 router but i couldn't make the router works for the 2 line i only get one line led on i tried to change the wires colors on the rj11 (4 pins) and even so i cloud not get both led light goes on for tho line and this only for the cat 6 if i hook the old wire i dont know whats kind of wire i think its for inercom or mebe cat3 its works in the ext Bt only 2 wires connected and on the modem side 4 wires is o nthe rj11 plug i tried to do it the same way with cat6 i only get single line and i do it now with (white-orange=pin 1) (blue-white=pin 2) (white-blue=pin 3) (orange-white=pin 4 ) on the plug , on the bt side i tried to but white -blue with blue-white not working even the opposite.i just want to know how to wire from ext-Bt to router using rj11-4pin cua thats what my router use on bonding to lines, btw i have only 2 wire on the bt side because i got 2 line phones on a phone line in the bt?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Linksys X3000 to work with my ADSL connection (provider is Singtel from Singapore). I managed to use Cisco connection application to logon and setup the router OK, yesterday. I even connected my PC to the router by LAN, and also a few devices wirelessly.At the end of the day, I switched off everything... but next morning, when I booted up the router, I found that all my devices cannot access internet. Upon checking the server (192.168.1.1), I found that it does not have a IP from Singtel, although on the router the internet symbol (globe sign) is lighted up.I rebooted the router twice, getting the same results (note: I waited for a long time each time, until the globe was lighted up).I disconnected the X3000, and reconnected my Netgear DGN2000. It worked (and retrieved an IP address from Singtel). I then disconnected the Netgear and reconnected X3000. To my surprise, this time X3000 got the IP address and then internet is working again.

I have been trying to connect a new Cisco 887VA Router to the Internet using ADSL via PPPoE and have been unsuccessful. The DSL line is active and functioning correctly since the current "old" router is connected and working without any problems (the "old" DLink router is connected to an Alcatel DSL Modem). AT&T provides the ADSL service to the office. When the Cisco Router is connected it tries to negotiate a connection via PPPoE on the WAN interface but utlimately fails. The IP for the WAN interface is dynamic.

I have a Embarq 660 Series modem, but i wanted wifi. so i bought a belkin N300 wireless router this morning. And it won't connect to internet. I'm sure i've plug the cable in the right spot. And the EQ 660R ADSL router/modem is working. The belkin package came with a CD, and it's the setup program for the wireless router. but as it tried to form a connection, it said failed to connect to the modem. so does this means embarq 660 series isn't compatible with Belkin N300?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'am a bit newbie at using Cisco products and here is my problem : I have set up a VPN tunnel between 2 Sites (A and B) a few month ago using 2 cisco SR520-ADSL-K9. All was working fine until power failures occured on the sites B (secondary site).
What happened was that none of the ethernet ports were working, excepting during booting, I was then able to ping computers linked to ports Fastethernet0, FastEthernet1, FastEthernet2 and FastEthernet3 but after a few seconds all ports were disabled but my DSL seemed to be working.
So I took back the router home to check it. I managed (I think) to make a factory reset using a serial terminal and following the procedure described here [URL]
Since I did the reset, I thought I would be able to re-use Cisco Configuration Assistant (3.1) to re-configure the router (I am very bad at using the command lines) but I am unable to connect to the router using the supposed default IP : 92.168.75.1 (I set my computer to use 192.168.75.50 IP adress with mask 255.255.255.0). But I can't connect to the router ... even if the Ethernet ports seem to work because green light is on when plugging my cable. connect to my router using CCA ?
For more information, here is what I get when I run "show startup-config" and "show running-config" in terminal console. I guess the objective is to make the startup-config beeing the running-config, but I have no idea on how to do that ..

I only have access to rather slow connections (256 Kbps). But since I have two lines and two modems, I was wondering if I could bond them together and make a faster one. My main modem is a Lynksys WAG120N Wireless-N ADSL2+ Modem Router, which as you can see is also in charge of both wired and wireless networks at my place. The second one is an older D-Link ADSL modem (JUST modem).Since I have an extra LAN port on my Lynksys modem, I want to know if and how I can connect the second modem, and combine the two rates.

I just bought a 30m CAT6 cable which I installed inside the house, now since my router is on the floor above me I bought a 30m cable to be able to have it downstairs. I don't really know if it has something to do with the PC or if it is the length of the cable that is the problem. But when I try the PC on the main floor the speed is 15-20mbit/s and when I try it on my PC downstairs, all I get is a maximum of 10mbit/s. The strange thing is that ping/jitter is the same both upstairs and downstairs?
