I built a PC a few months ago skelton case, Asus P6 Mobo, 6 Gigs PC16000 RAM, 500 GB HDD, Windows 7. Built it for gaming but since then i have been having weird ntw problems. I am getting internet from the apartment above me and even thoug my PS3 is located 3 ft to the left of the PC and it gets awesome connectivity My new PC (with 5 bars and supposed 72mbps speed) remains unable to access most web pages. I recieve errors such as "No ntw connectivity" and Browser errors like "Fire Fox is unable to access server (<<Something like that).
I am able to ping websites (google) and my gateway (192.168.2.1) from this computer but unable to ping myself (127.0.1). I have tried reinstalling my O.S Cleaning my registry/browser files, defragging hdd, statics IP'ing and a freind even recommended removing Norton as he could only imagine that it was causing the slowness of my internet but nothing has lasting affects. The fullsystem scans I run on Norton Internet Security 2011 all come back clean.
Currentlly im typing this out on my 5 year old laptop. Far worse technology then my new PC and yet its far more capable on the internet.
I just bought a new router and i'm not able to access the internet on one of my laptops even though on the laptop it shows that its connected with full bars, it doesnt have this problem with the other routers i use. Also all my other computers are able to access the internet on this new router.
I just got a new 2011 Toshiba Satellite L755 laptop with Windows 7, I also have a 2006 Compaq Presario with the original Windows Vista. We use a DIR-615 router for WIFI connection on both. The old Compaq will keep a connection with no problem and never looses a connection. The new Toshiba will keep 3 bars of signal but will not keep a constant connection to the internet. Do I need to upgrade my router, which I bought the one I have about 3-4 years ago, or could it possibly be a problem with my new computer?
Just bought a new Cisco e1200 router last week. When i first hooked it up, it was giving me extremely low (significantly lower than my old router) downloading speeds. After switching the networking mode from "mixed' to "Wireless-G only", the speeds went back to normal. I tried "Wireless-N only", but it didn't work after that. Seemingly, my computer does not work with Wirless-N?
It's been running okay now, but 2 things happen occasionally: When playing a game, I experience lag for a period of 5 minutes, or sometimes 20 minutes. It goes away on its own. Never happened with my old router. When surfing the internet, pages will refuse to load. The connection bars shown at the bottom right hand corner of my computer display a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. This goes away on its own after about 4-5 minutes. These problems come randomly every 3-4 or days, maybe a bit longer.
I bought a brand-new Inspiron 15R laptop from Dell and the DW1510 Wireless N WI-FI card will only connect at a maximum of 72mbps. I've tried the laptop with two different N certified routers a (D-Link and Belkin). Routers are configured correctly for N speed and within 10 inches of the laptop.
The speed I am experiencing is nowhere near the 300mbps connection speed possible.
i'v recently bought a WAG120N for my home and set it up after that i checked that my wireless link speed on my laptop is 72mbps instead 150mbps after a few googling ive found that 150mbps is only avalaible on 40MHz radio band but in setup page i only found 20MHz.
What a yellow star on top of my wifi signal bars mean. It says i have excellent signal but when i put security key in to connect it tells me it cant. My other pcs connect and run with no problems.

I have an Acer Aspire M1100. When trying to download the lates wlan drivers from support.acer.com they can't be installed because they require at mos the XP version of Windows (I have windows 7).
I have 2 laptops with wireless N adapters that will connect at a maximum of only 72Mbps. I've tried changing the security mode to WPA2 Personal, channel width to 40 MHz only, and 20MHz only. I've changed the network mode to N only. I've updated the drivers on the adapters and ran the update on the E2500 router. I get the same 72Mbps if the laptops are right next to the router. How can I get the connection speed faster?
I just acquired a used E2100 from an auction, when I plug it in I see an "Unnamed Network" with full bars in wireless, but can't connect since I don't know the ssid/password.When connecting with cable, with ipconfig I get a 10.10.10.108 ip, the gateway is at 10.10.10.99. Yet I also cannot access it.I have tried the reset button at the bottom, holding it for over a minute, pressing it quickly, holding it for 30 seconds, holding it and unplugging + replugging the router, but nothing is working.I have also tried the CD that comes with it with cable and with wifi only, but it does not find the router. I have deleted my default wireless network settings, had my wifi on, was not connected to any networks, yet the CD could not find the router.When router is on, the WIFI led blinks around once a second, while the LAN led blinks randomly like it should.
I have used wireless routers in the past...but have just purchased a Cisco E2500. When attempting to set it up using the CD I am asked to assign name + password.....I do this and but the ?? is unable to find the router. This despite the fact that it is 8 ft. away and showing up with 5 bars on my networks available display. When I attempt to connect without going thru the setup it asks me for the password which is part of the setup process..

not getting advertised 150Mbps speed , only getting 72Mbps installed the latest firmware TL-WR740N_V4_130104 and the performance is so bad that i cant even use skype anymore , the main reason to buy this router was to move from 54Mbps to 150Mbps but not sure what is wrong , how to achieve that 150Mbps speed

How can I implement security to keep Internet and non-internet vlan computers from communicating with one anothers? Both computer vlans will need to communicate with printer
Everything in my network works as a charm. Every host in my vlans can access and ping the internet with no problems. But, my main router does not ping the internet (Pinging either ip "173.194.71.104" or domain "www.google.com" do not work). I don't know how is that possible since my hosts can ping the internet. I have a laptop that I take to work, and would like to set things up to use my home internet connection from elsewhere. I have a Sony Vaio running Windows 7 Home Premium. Yesterday I accessed the Internet at the office over a Cat5 cable. Last night I accessed the Internet at home via my USB Internet dongle (actually an O2 mobile phone). Today neither works. I have also tried to connect to the Internet via Wireless and that does not work either.Needless to say my desktop (using the same Cat5 cable) works. My mobile phone can access the Internet on it own. And others can get the wireless to work.My Vaio can connect to all three; however, all three say "No Internet access".I changed nothing between last night and this morning. I have scanned through the list of Windows Updates and nothing has been downloaded in the past week. I have turned off my firewalls (in both McAfee and Symantec Endpoint Protection). I have run the three NETSH reset commands with Administrator privileges. I have rebooted my machine numerous times. Nothing works.
I am connected to my network wirelessly and I have Internet acces (according to the symbol at the bottom right) bu the Internet doesn't work. At the moment it keeps fluctuating between giving me interne and not I am using Skype to tell me if I have Internet ( when it's green I do when it's grey I don't) I have tried many things on forums like obtaining ip automatically or obtaining a fixed ip. I've tried renewing the ip and all this doesnt work.
I use my android as a mobile hotspot to connect to the internet on my laptop. My laptop says it is connected to the internets.d has a strong connection but will not load any page on internet. I suddenly can't connect to the internet using IE or Firefox every time I try I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". My connection on my wireless picks up great and shows signal strength as excellent. I took it to a place that was offering free check ups and they said that I caught a virus which I never seen any sign of catching a virus when it worked and that it had wiped out one of my hard drives and they could fix it for $229.00. My laptop is not connecting to the internet, I know that it is not a router problem as my mine PC and Notebook are connecting with no issues.I have removed all router devices as had an new once once it was last working.I tried this morning to set it up again without success. I have compared to setting with my pc and have found the difference is with the IPV6 connectivity.
I have a desktop computer that I have used for years and it has always worked just fine. We have AT&T (DSL, not cable) and it used to connect just fine but then I moved out, left everything plugged in exactly as it was and when I came back it wouldn't connect.It connects to the LAN but not to the internet. When I go in cmd to type ipconfig the DNS suffix is blank on that computer but says gateway.2wire.net on my wireless laptop. I eventually disabled UPnP on it because that's what alot of people were saying fixed the problem but it didn't fix anything. My network has recently started acting very odd. Everything works fine as long as i use only 1 internet using application at the time but my whole wireless network brakes down when i start up 2 internet using applications at the same time. Let me elaborate.
I come here today with a problem that has been plaguing this laptop forever and a day. You see, about two or so years ago on this very laptop, it was just another day where I booted up my laptop and was going to get a good day of wasting time on the internet underway. I tried to open Firefox, and I got prompted to download an apparent update for the browser. Obviously I went along with it because it seemed pretty routine and identical to how Firefox had updated in the past.
After the update was all done and dusted, I found myself unable to connect to the internet through Firefox. I would just get a constant stream of "Unable to connect" messages. I thought it might have been a problem on my end since back then I had rather wishy washy internet. So I let it settle for a while. Later on that day I talked to a few of my buddies over Xbox Live and asked if they'd had any similar issues with the new Firefox update because at the time, we all used it and hadn't quite jumped ship to Chrome just yet. But no matter who I asked, I always got the same response "I didn't get any update." Which as you can imagine, confused me quite thoroughly.
My computer it connected to the internet wirelessly but i cant broswe the web or play video games online. I am an avid world of warcraft player but it tells me i cannot connect to the launcher. The laptops that connect to the same internet work just fine though. I have tried to connect through an ethernet cord with no luck.
