AT&T DSL Red DSL Light At Setup

Signed up for AT&T's Uverse package. Hooked the DSL modem up as instructions manual showed, but the DSL light shows red. Internet and activity lights are blank. Power and ethernet lights show green. I have two phone ports. One is orange colored and shows a "D2" figure next to it. The other one is plain. Tried plugging/unplugging from both. No luck. Called AT&T, I have a technician coming over tomorrow between 4-9pm. Will I be charged? Customer service rep said I probably won't be.Also, my e-mail doesn't show the $24.95 promotional price for 6mbps. It shows that there's a recurring charge for $40.

I have a Linksys X2000 modem. Sometimes I see the "Wi-Fi Protected Setup" button glowing orange (amber?) for no apparent reason. The manual says that it "blinks rapidly in amber if an error occurs" but I don't think any device is trying to connect wirelessly at the time. How can I determine if there is a problem?

On Page 16 of my N600 DB manual it says that below the "Router Status Light" and above the "WPS" letters there is a "Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) Light and Button". When I look at my router all I see in this space is a raised rectangular plastic strip. Should I have a light and button there?

I previously asked if I should be concerned that the Internet light on my Linksys E3000 router doesn't light up when I have Internet access. Well recently I had to do a reset and I noticed that during the reset it does in fact light up, but it doesn't come on when the router is done with the reset!

I was trying to connect Ethernet cable to my laptop LAN port, there was solid Green on my Hub and there was no light on my laptop LAN. I have swapped with a none good working computer and Ethernet cable everything works fine.I felt the problems is the physical LAN port on my laptop.

I recently reset my router as I did not know my password and I needed to find out what the WEP was. Now the internet light will not come on. I have followed instructions on setting up the router as if it were new and still no luck.

I recently had a HD failure on my dell e1505. I replaced the HD and installed XP; everything seems fine except the modem doesn't work. It did before the HD crash. The diagnostic program does not indicate any modem at all, as if it were not installed. The Wi-fi light does not come on and it does not work with an ethernet cable plugged into the modem.

Well, I recently purchased a new ipod Touch for my birthday and planned on using Wi-Fi internet for my touch when I'm around the house. My sister had a router that had not before been in much use, the WRT54G Linksys router; so to save money we decided to use that. Well, we plugged in the router on October 7th, (friday) and everything was working -- we had Wifi connection; the WLAN light on the Linksys router was lit up. Now, last night, October 8th, right before going to bed I shut down my computer and I unplugged my computer cable. I did not unplugg the router. This morning, as soon as I turned back on my computer, as soon as it was done booting up I noticed the WLAN button on the router was not lit up. I immediately pulled out my ipod and it said that I was not connected to Wifi. All day I have been unplugging the router/modem, replugging them in, only to find that the WLAN button is still not lighting. The other buttons on the router - 'power', 'internet', and '1' (out of 1, 2, 3, 4) are lit. I have only tried rebooting the modem/router/computer once, which was about ten minutes ago and still nothing worked. Is there any way to get my Wifi back? The router is pretty much brand new, having never really been in use to begin with.

last Monday night, out internet just stopped working completely. We had an older Livebox (Inventel) and after phoning tech support, we were told it was a problem with the router. The problem was with the "@" symbol flashing about once a second. Anyway, they sent over a new router. This was the netgear1000. We set it up and the Internet light stayed red - all the other lights that are meant to be green are green.. We checked the details against what was on the personal detail card they sent over with the router and all of that was correct. It even shows the upload and download speed even though we cannot connect to the internet. When I check the status, it states that the LCP is ready to come up or something along those lines and that the CHAP authentication failed. I phoned them up again and they couldn't solve the problem so it's being moved up to a different department apparently. Anyway, I don't get how it can be an error with the username and password if my old router just stopped working with nothing being changed. The phone line is fine and the tech guy even changed our password.

The green light on my Ethernet port is always on. Even when I unplug the Ethernet cable and shut down my computer. The only way it turns off is when I unplug my computer from the outlet. Also, my computer doesn't receive any internet when an Ethernet cable is plugged in and the yellow flashing light doesn't show either. I know the Ethernet cable is fine and the internet works fine on other computers

We have a fairly new Asus laptop and for some reason we can't get the wireless to turn on any more.It has a Function button method to turn it on and off and any time you use this button it shows the WLAN simple with a red line through it. No matter how many times you press it it does the same thing.I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, ran a security update for the drivers. When I go into the wireless connection and try and turn it on it shows that it has a signal (not sure what to) but a red X next to the connection in windows 7. I can't actually see any wireless signals so I'm kind of at a loss.

The modem is sure working and so as the Ethernet cable since I am using it with another computer. I already had the driver updated but still it's not working. I actually suddenly heard noise in my computer before this happened. OS Windows 7.

I got 3 new TP-Link WA901ND PoE access points for a wireless network I manage. Right now I'm using the stock injectors that came with them because I need to get adapters still so I can use them with my PoE switch.

About a week after getting these units installed and having them work great, I started running into problems. One of the unit's system light was not on, and I could not connect to the access point from my phone, or log into the web interface. I did a soft reboot (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in) and it seemed to work fine, but then I had the same problem, and soon both units were doing it. I thought i might be pushing the distance limit the stock injectors have, but then I started having the same problem with a unit that is 10 feet from the injector.

I recently (Jan 2011) bought a new DLink DIR-600 Router for my home use. It was working excellent for last two months and suddenly last Monday all hell broke loose. I have a WiMax connect and have a POE box. I plugged in the cable from POE box into my router and it used to work fine. But now, the globe indicator on the router box is not turning green. It remains yellow. When I remove the POE cable from router and plug it directly to my laptop, it works fine.

I've been using my Router For 2 months now, It's been working properly since. But yesterday, It was left turned ON and the Power and Globe LED's were orange/yellow. As I restarted the router (unplugged, waited for 1 min.) Only the Power LED was green, all the other LED's were OFF.

I just configured Aironet 3502i and it works ok but no lights. I could see the AP in switch, in WLC, and in WCS and ping ok but when you see it mounted it has no light. I tried to shutdown the port in the switch and I saw it turns green (booting), once it was registered in WLC the light will be off.

I have a question on Wireless AP's. We have 2 controllers, a 5508 that supports 50 AP's and a 4402 that supports 25 AP's. I have mutable AP"s but the one that I'm having a problem with is an AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9.
On the 4402 I'm running IOS AIR WLC4400-K9-7-0-230-0
On the 5508 I'm running IOS AIR-CT5500-K9-7-2-103-0
My problem is when i move a AP from the 5508 to the 4402 everything seems to work, the new IOS is downloaded to the AP and it restarts and shows up in the Wireless tab and users can hook up through it to the controller and all seems to work. The problem is that the LED light on the AO goes out once the load is finished and does not come back on. If I put it back toe the 5508, after it reloads the IOS the light comes back on and works, green or blue as the case may be. If i move it back to the 4402 it doesn't work after the load is finished.

Is there a way to set up Quick VPN on the RV120W without changing the internal subnet? I have just taken over responsibility for a network and I don't know all of the nooks and crannies yet, so I'd rather not change the internal sub net. I've tried setting up a user then changing the LAN settings afterward, but it automatically removed the VPN user when I did so.

When my Toshiba Satellite notebook first begins booting up, the ethernet cable "connected indicator" light is ON, but somewhere around the halfway booted-up point, the light goes out. Once booting is completed, I get the message "Network cable is unplugged". The cable is definitely plugged in, as I also have Ubuntu Linux running on this same machine (dual-boot), and use this cabled-connection ALL THE TIME (for both LAN and Internet access)

I've got tons of fibre in my network. However, tbh, my knowledge about correct light levels isn't great. I generally wait until my router complains about a light level before I do anything. I would like to set up SNMP monitoring for light levels, but I need some kind of baseline.Anyone with extensive fibre experience? What light levels should I be looking at for both multimode and singlemode fibre?

I have Cisco 3560 switch in my network . from there we are distributing connection to our broadband customer in difference area. one location side port are getting glow yellow after every interval which result network goes down. when i replug the port its getting OK.

The send light is steadily blinking. Yesterday I disconnected the cable into my main cable box connected to my tv, so I could move it into a new tv stand I bought, and ever since then I get no Internet connection (tv cable works fine.) I cant see how that made my Internet go out, but maybe it did. I purchased this router, and in reading reviews several people complained how bright the blue "dome light" is. They also pointed out that in the manual there is a way to turn it off. I would like to turn it off, and I have read the manual virtually "cover to cover" (I am after all reading it on my computer), but I did not find any information about this.

I had a malware attack and decided to reload my XP Media Edition on my Dell XPS 400 series. After the disc reformat and reload of XP from the operating system CD, and then loading the drivers CD, I cannot connect to the internet. The plug for the ethernet cable is red/yellow on two different jacks in the house. The modem is supplied by ATT U-verse. The TCP/IP is connected at 400 Mb/s but showing "0" data transfer in or out. The internet connection was working before the XP reload. I did not backup an "image" and so I may have lost my registries? Is there a way to "turn on" the ethernet port?
