I have a question on Wireless AP's. We have 2 controllers, a 5508 that supports 50 AP's and a 4402 that supports 25 AP's. I have mutable AP"s but the one that I'm having a problem with is an AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9.
On the 4402 I'm running IOS AIR WLC4400-K9-7-0-230-0
On the 5508 I'm running IOS AIR-CT5500-K9-7-2-103-0
My problem is when i move a AP from the 5508 to the 4402 everything seems to work, the new IOS is downloaded to the AP and it restarts and shows up in the Wireless tab and users can hook up through it to the controller and all seems to work. The problem is that the LED light on the AO goes out once the load is finished and does not come back on. If I put it back toe the 5508, after it reloads the IOS the light comes back on and works, green or blue as the case may be. If i move it back to the 4402 it doesn't work after the load is finished.
since few weeks i configure my APs on the new WLC5508, and then, the lights are off on the AP, is it normal? however they seems to work fine. What does this light means? FW version: 7.0.22,Is it important?
I previously asked if I should be concerned that the Internet light on my Linksys E3000 router doesn't light up when I have Internet access. Well recently I had to do a reset and I noticed that during the reset it does in fact light up, but it doesn't come on when the router is done with the reset!
I am trying to light up every port light on a 3750g. There is not anything plugged into them and I would like to know (just for fun) is there a way to make every port light 1 - 48 turn on using a command?
We have a fairly new Asus laptop and for some reason we can't get the wireless to turn on any more.It has a Function button method to turn it on and off and any time you use this button it shows the WLAN simple with a red line through it. No matter how many times you press it it does the same thing.I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, ran a security update for the drivers. When I go into the wireless connection and try and turn it on it shows that it has a signal (not sure what to) but a red X next to the connection in windows 7. I can't actually see any wireless signals so I'm kind of at a loss.
I just bought the wireless-g range expander from a computer parts store.... its not brand new, and i don't have the cd. It is picking up the wireless signal and my laptop sees that it is excellent signal strength but it won't connect to it and the "Link" light is red
I've had major issues connecting to the Internet in the last couple days. I can't think of anything specific that was changed. The lights on the front:
Power light - steady on. Circle/triangle light - flashes at approx once per second. 4-circle light - intermittent quick flashes (but mostly on). Wireless light - COMES ON FOR THREE SECONDS EVERY FIFTEEN SECONDS! All the lights are green.
Dir-655 Hardware A1/a2 Firmware 1.35NA
I tried turning SEP off. No luck. To note, the Internet works when I hard wire a computer through the dir-655.
I am having a problem with my ea4500 several times a day the cisco light flashes and I loose internet connectivity. I have tried resetting the router by the reset button and changed ssid name, making two different one for each band, and still I am having a problem. I have read where it could be a firmware update, I have updated (using current version)
Recently, our company wireless AP 1262 connected more than 40+ clients, and sometimes the wireless access speed is too slow. those clients are only for MES data transfer, the date no more than 10K of each stations. So I'd like to know if the one AP can support the network traffic if whole testers transfer the data to Database via this wireless AP1262? and the WLC no clients roaming option for which clients can connect to another AP around. I have checked the WLC and AP configuration. no option for clients roaming to another APs, do you know how to configure this AP's Clients move to another APs?If we setup the new APs in the location, does the clients will be auto connect to this new AP?
We have deployed many 1142 APs on a site. When i have checked color codes , some of thems LEDs are static green which we have expected. But some of them are not giving out any light. But from the controller menu i saw them active and operating. And i can connect that APs but no led is lid.
When i get closer to the AP i saw a Red color which can not be seen from distance (Not Red flashing LED).What the possible error can be ? Is it a factory default mistake or so ?
Everything was working fine. Changed Nothing on the router. Goes out and now wont broadcast a wireless signal, cant manually reset the router, or get into the settings with 192.168.1.1
Currently I am wired through it with my desktop and its working, but not much else.
I switch to a new internet provider. which is wireless[Frontier]. my printer is dell V715w the orange light is flashing. provide detailed info to correct
Yesterday the WLAN light stopped lighting up on my wireless router. The DSL light comes on (green), however, the WLAN light doesn't light up and the 'inetrnet' light stays on red. My laptop is saying cannot detect network, but is detecting other wireless networks in area (so not laptop prob). Did all the unplugging, turning everything off and even pressing the reset button on the back of the router but its still not working. Tried plugging in a USB cable directly from router to laptop and 'internet' light flashed green for 1 second then went back to red and still not working.
I have a HP Pavillon dv6000 laptop, tried connecting to my wireless network this morning but no luck. It will connect fine when using Ethernet cable. Whether the switch is pushed to on or off the light stays orange, when it is connected it used to turn blue. I've included a prtscrn of my device manager...
I have a netgear MR814 router that is not connecting to the internet. A few days ago my wireless was SO slow that I disconnected and did a powercycle (which usually works when wireless drops off now and then) but then it did not connect to the modem anymore. The ports 1, 4, wireless, and power lights are on but the internet light is off. I know it's not a modem problem because I can hardwire the modem to my laptop and get on internet. I've tried a few things suggested on this forum and elsewhere (maybe I shouldn't have messed with it?) but nothing has worked to resolve the problem. When I am connected to the router I cannot access the routerlogin and the ipconfig/release/renew shows that wireless lan media is disconnected.

After a recent lighting strick close by I can not connect to the internet through my router. Stright from the modem works fine. The port light on the router does not come on. I rebooted modem, router and computer with no luck. It's like I've lost my network adapters and I don't know how to get them back. I tryed another E2000 and it's the same way.
Just bought the linksys E2500 as an upgrade for a my Trendnet 150 wireless N router. I have a motorolla surfboard modem with time warner roadrunner cable internet. After connecting the router I have no internet connection. I do not get a light on the WAN connection after the ethernet cable is attached. I know the light works because when I power it on all the lights come on. I cloned the MAC address but this did not work. I have searched the forums for hours and tried different ideas to no avail. My PC recognized the router and I'm able to get to all the settings but cannot establish a connection from the router to the modem. I also tried different ethernet cables to eliminate that possiblilty.
I have a WPC54G ver. 2 adapter I am trying to get to work on a thinkpad T22 running W2kPRO with all the SPs and updates installed. The power light comes on, but the link light does not. I am using a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router. The monitor icon shows in the taskbar and when I open it, it says the adapter is inactive. I have tried several time to download and install the driver for the Linksys site. It seems to install OK, but when I go back and check the Drivers tab to verify that the driver version has changed to 3.20.21.0, it is still version 6.0.0.18.

I am having troubles configuring TL-WR740N. After I connect everything and turned in on, the system Light is ON and the power light is also ON and nothing else. I Connected my laptop to the 1 of 4 LAN ports and the WAN to my modem.
The Internet LED does not light up when I have access to the Internet like now. I think I remember this lighting up in the past and find it strange that an LED light would burn out so early
I have had a Dlink dir 615 for some time now and always had a few issues, but nothing a reboot of the router couldn't solve. This time the problem is persisting, though. The wireless signal keeps blinking and on my laptop it says No internet connection. I've rebooted the router, restored the router, rebooted the modem, and nothing seems to work.
Ive recently tried to update the firmware and everything went as instructed, then the power and LAN light went out. Now I have the indicator lights for the computer and modem, but thats is. No internet or SSID broadcast. I cannot log into or ping the unit, and have tried the hard reset many times, with no effect.
I just purchased the E4200 (hardware version 1).Great router with amazing features.I plugged my WD Elements 2TB, setup my media and FTP server and everything is working fine.
My only concern is about the HD light that is always on, even when nobody is accessing it. I turned off the Auto-scan option but the HD seems to be always reading something...
When this HD was plugged on my computer the light was on during access only.Is it OK? I mean, isn't something that will decrease the HD lifespam? Is there a way to tell the E4200 to not access the HD when nobody is using it?
I have a question, I have an ap (cisco 1130) that began to get the status light flashing orange and light Ethernet and radio are off.I did a factory reset and it was ok ... past 3 days the problem has happened again.I changed the ap with a new but the situation remained.I tested the wiring and everything is ok.the switch port is set up correctly.
Is the process for converting 1260 APs to lightweight mode any different from converting 1140s or 1250s? I've converted several APs to LWAP mode but this is my first 1260. Four 1260s need to be converted.I have one in a remote location that seems to be comatose. Here are the steps I took to convert the AP. Did skip/miss a step?
1. uploaded code to the AP ap3g1-rcvk9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar 2. configured the AP for DHCP. It successfully leased a DHCP address. Controller information is provided via DHCP Option 43. 3. saved the configuration 4. verified the code, successful 5. disabled wireless radios 6. installed the lightweight code using the command archive download-sw /safe flash:/ap3g1-rcvk9w8-tar.152-2.JB.tar.The installation was successful 7. rebooted the AP
After that nothing. The AP has not leased another IP address. The switchport is active. The APs MAC address is registering in the switches MAC address table. The AP is receiveing PoE from the switch. I noticed that this AP is only receiving 6.2W of power where the three are getting anywhere between 8.8W and 9.3W. I am unable to ping the old static IP of the AP too.
I do have 1131 LWAPP in home, i was wondering if i can convert to Autonomous . I read in the documentation, that only way is to use with controller. can i convert without connecting to WLC .
Recently I have installed and configurated an AP 1260, it has already IP, SSID, and ping to the router, but after install the antenna I open the web configuration and see that it has 0 clients connected and the light is always green, indicated as only is configurated with nobody connected.
Tha radio setting is up, 2,4 Ghz and 5 Ghz any issue with the antenna? or i need to configure anything else?
We have a root AP whose status light is showing solid red. We power cycled it and it still shows solid red. According to the Cisco documentation, this indicates a firmware failure. Unfortunately, we did not get Smartnet with this access points and instead opted for the limited lifetime warranty.
My question is: is there any way to fix the firmware via console? Whether it be through xmodem or what not. I ran debugs on the controller and can confirm that the AP is not communcating with the controller.
It is also weird that the mesh APs that were previously connected to this root AP show a solid red on their status lights and green for their RF LEDs. Shouldn't the status LED be flashing green-amber-red?
I have 1042 Light weight AP and i want to convert it to Autonomous mode . i dont find any particular image for this conversion ..when i try to find autonomous image for 1040 its showing "c1140-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA1.tar"........can i use this image ?...
