View 1 RepliesI replace our aging rv082 routers with wireless rv220w routers. The gateway to gateway vpn works great, however I am no longer able to manage our print servers port 80 management page. I can ping any host with success, and I can manage hosts that have a port 10000 or 8000 web interface - but no port 80 ones... I had no issues when using the old rv082 routers...

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got a never used AT+T Wireless Router (2701HG-B Gateway) from a friend to use with my laptop and comcast broadband connection. I have windows vista, and use IE as my main browser. Can I used, or is it set up to only work with an AT+T connection? I do have all the software discs that came with the unit, but haven't run them as they seem mainly for setting up DSL connection with AT+T.
I've had trouble connecting to my own internet and have no wireless. I'm using my neighbor's wireless and it's really slowing her's down. I've tried restarting my laptop (it usually works) and then reinstalled the device under "device manager". It's not the cord, I've checked with my neighbor's laptop and it works fine.I use a Sony Vaio VGN-NS140E with Windows Vista SP2.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a hand-me-down laptop the other day. Wireless (WLAN) works fine, but I can not connect via ethernet.
It gives the "Limited or no connectivity" message, even if the ethernet cable is unplugged (no "a cable has been unplugged" message)
The laptop is plugged in to an EWIRE modem/router. Desktop connects fine via ethernet, as does my PlayStation 3 console via wireless. So I don't think it has to do with the modem/router. It's a Compaq from 2005 or so. Windows XP Pro SP3.

I have a general knowledge of fixing the typical internet connection problem (obtain DNS automatically, repair connection, unplug modem for 20 seconds, etc) but I've never been this stumped before.
I have a Dell XPS M1530 with Vista 32 bit. When i plug in a cable i get nothing, no error, and the comp does not recognize that a cable has been plugged in. I think that this started after my Hard drive failed and Dell replaced it but i'm not positive. No errors (? or !) in Device Manager and I can't find the Marvell 88E80XX 10/100 Ethernet Controller in device manager. I have attempted to Reinstall the drivers. The wireless is still working. I have one Light to the right of the port that is on all the time solid but no flashing with the cable in or out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having some problems with my Ethernet connection lately. The problem started early last week. I'm currently relocating, so I unplugged my laptop from the Ethernet connection I had at my old place. At two different locales, I have tried to use an Ethernet connection in order to get better speed (the wireless at the first locale was non-existent and at the second it is extremely slow in my room). I have done so with two separate cables that I have tested on others' computers and found that they are perfectly fine. That, of course, leads me to believe that it is my computer and is either a hardware or software problem (here's hoping it's the latter).Anyway, my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1720 (purchased in 2006). About a year ago, I updated to Windows 7 from the pre-installed Vista. Never had any problems (as I said, everything was fine up until about a week ago). The installed card is a Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller. Everything under Device Manager indicates that the hardware is working properly and has all of its drivers installed, but nothing is working.I have tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers (albeit by allowing windows to find them automatically), but the result is the exact same.I have checked the port and found that there is no debris or obstructions. My computer hasn't been dropped or mishandled in any way.

View 2 Replies View Relatedif I can use the encrypted port as unencrypted ethernet ports? url.. Each individual port on the Cisco Nexus 5010 switch is numbered, and groups of ports are numbered based on their function. The ports are numbered top to bottom and left to right. There are 20 to 28 ports on the Cisco Nexus 5010 switch, depending on which GEM is installed.
The 20 fixed ports form group 1 and are named 1/port_number. Ports 1 through 16 are unencrypted Ethernet ports. Of these, ports 1 through 8 are 10-Gigabit Ethernet and 1-Gigabit Ethernet-capable ports. Ports 17 through 20 are encryption-capable Ethernet ports.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am moving a very small branch office to a new location, but we have a centrally controlled IT infrastructure team in Europe. I would like to implement a hosted VOIP solution without impacting the current network setup (i.e., VPN/Firewall) or asking this IT team to change anything on the existing LAN Network except the IP address/gateway. The VOIP system will have its own cabling.
Here is the configuration I would like:
• Cisco 861 as main gateway to the Ethernet from the ISP’s modem
• 2 static public IPs from the ISP, one for the VOIP network and one for the LAN
• Cisco 861 acting as NAT/DHCP for the VOIP system on one static public IP
• My company’s Juniper device on the second static public IP managing NAT for the LAN
I have a diagram here to map out what I am considering:
Two options I have seen:
• Setup Proxy ARP on the Cisco router, allowing the Juniper device a transparent (and unsecured/firewalled) route to the internet to get the Public IP and manage the LAN (seen in picture)
• Install an additional switch (with proper QOS prioritizing VOIP) at main entry point of location, and have both routers behind this (to minimize configuration of the Cisco router).
When I create a virtual switch on hyper v, i lose network connectivity and the default gateway is missing I have to manually put the default gateway in and disable and re enable the network adaptor each time the server restarts in order to get network connectivity. I am running windows server 2012 Hyper V Virtual Ethernet Adapter loses default gateway server 2012

I am quite a bit rusty from my days of networking. I am trying to setup my lab so I purchased 3 cisco 2501 to study for my CCNA, my question is? I have 2 serial interfaces and 1 AUI for ethernet on each router. How can I configure the Ethernet interface, if I don't see it on the configuration. From the CLI command I issue the command show ip int brief. But It only shows the 2 serials but no E0 interface.
PS. I do have an Ethernet Transceiver connected to the AUI port on the router with a straight through cable going into a 2950 switch.
Is it possible my Laptop Ethernet port is dead? After I got home today I noticed that the store that passed by caused a short power outage. I knew this because several electronic devices that rely on constant power were reset.Next to be noticed was that my computer had no connection to the internet, and my Ethernet port has a constant orange light on.I proceeded to perform a full network restart for my modem, router, and computer. This solved the internet connection to my router. My roommate was able to connect via an Ethernet cable to the internet on any of the routers ports, but I was still unable. However,I was able to connect to the wireless on my computer. Unfortunately no matter what port, or cable I use my Ethernet port still is unresponsive to it all, and still has the constant orange light.you.Specs:Manufacturer: Gateway

The green light on my Ethernet port is always on. Even when I unplug the Ethernet cable and shut down my computer. The only way it turns off is when I unplug my computer from the outlet. Also, my computer doesn't receive any internet when an Ethernet cable is plugged in and the yellow flashing light doesn't show either. I know the Ethernet cable is fine and the internet works fine on other computers
