View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 1841 deployed as my NAT device towards internet. NAT is setup so that internal addresses can access WWW. I also have some NAT translations opening speciic ports from outside to inside in the form: ip nat inside source static tcp A.B.C.D 443 A.B.C.D 443 extendable.
Now have an outside address/port setup with a public DNS reference and using NAT from outside to get access to the corresponding inside address. It works when being outside the LAN.
Now to the problem: From the LAN side of the router - i cannot access the public name. I can ping it - but my browser dont find the webserver behind the name. Someone told me it should be setup as "local firewall domain" - and i should set this up as "source NAT".
I just purchased a domain name, that I have forwarding to my WAN address. I want to be able to access my home websie via this route. I have an ASA 5505, how do I get the ASA to point to the home server when the WAN IP address is entered?

All these two connections are connected to the same Cisco switch 3750, after the switch then go to Cisco ASA firewall which has no access control rule for this 10.2.2.13 and its subnet, and then the firewall connect directly to the application server. We can ping, remote desktop access and telent port for the application to the target server by using 10.2.2.13.We swapped the cable connection of the ports from one another and try the application again, the IP with 10.2.2.13 is still fail and IP with 10.2.2.14 is OK.We then change the IP from 10.2.2.13 to 10.2.2.12 or 10.2.2.155, all are OK. We changed back to 10.2.2.13, it is failed again. The switch is in running real time production and so we cannot power cycle or reload the switch.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been working on this for hours and getting frustrated! This router has been set up for over a year with no trouble, but recently had trouble connecting with my wireless devices and was kicking my wired (ethernet) laptop off when it is usually on all the time.
Now, my wired connection works through the router, the wireless devices all connect to the network but do not have access to theinternet. From the router's setup page, when I enter my PPPoE information and go to status and connect, it tries to connect a few times then gives me the error message 'cannot get IP address from PPPoE server"
I have tried updating firmware, resetting, restarting, recycling power, chat support with ISP and chat support with Linksys. Have verified my username and key and those are correct otherwise I'd have no internet access at all. I do have wired access but not wireless. The wired connection does go through the router.
Bridging - my modem is a bridging modem only, so it shouldn't be that.
My router,EA4500 is blocking just one I.P address,(a game server), and I am unable to connect to the server. I have tried this on 2 different computers, reinstalled the Cisco Connect software, reset to factory defaults and it is still blocking me from getting on this server. When I by pass the router and plug directly into my modem the Server shows up fine and I am able to get on but when I put the Router back it blocks it and does not show up at all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt took a while of troubleshooting since I've never ran into this problem with my wireless router before. But finally I figured out that my router will not assign the proper DNS server addresses when assigning through DHCP. I upgraded from 2.10.02 and still the same issue.

One technician said that this is the providers problem, but I don't think so. When I restart the modem everything works.I have a Netgear WGR614 v9 router.I use ESET 5 security. Btw, connection drops on all computers connected through the router, so it's not my firewall.
I have a 3911 router with a 1242 AP. The problem that I have is that when the user is trying to connect, the user get the OS Ip address 169.254.168.154 and I see that when I do the "show dot11 association" command, but when I do sh ip dhcp binding on the router I see

The router is seeing as if the router gave the ip address to the user, but the reality the user was assigne the OS ip address 169. I did "debug ip dhcp server events" and I got the following:

View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried to configure my wifi router recently to secure my internet connection. I wanted to add a MAC adress filter, but I had to leave before I could enter them all. I thought that I wouldn't have to enter my own MAC adress since I'm directly connected to the router with a wire, but it looks like I should have entered my MAC adress, because now I can't get access to my router by typing the IP adress, as usual. I tried to reset it, but it doesn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to configure a TP-Link L-WR740N to act as an access point using the instructions here as a guide. As stated in the guide, I've been changing the IP address of the TP-Link router to a new address that lies outwith the pool of available DHCP addresses in my combined modem/router but with less than resounding success. After rebooting the TP-Link router, I am unable to access the set-up interface - the newly allocated IP address doesn't work, neither does the original IP address work. What is happening here? If I change the IP address to one that lies within the DHCP pool and reboot, I can access it ok with the new address. However, that obviously clashes with the set-up instructions.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have changed from a DSL internet service to a Comcast cable system. I have setup my E4200v1 router as an Access Point, to extend coverage in my building. It works fine, but I can no longer log on to the unit using its' IP address 192.168.1.1. The browser returns the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." If I want to tweak the settings the only thing I can think to do is to push the reset plug, back to factory settings and go through the whole process. Is there a way to discover the new IP address of the reconfigured router? I left the default address as it was when I made the changes to AP status.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a wrt54gs v7 and a wap54g v3.1. Both have latest firmware on them. I set the access point to act as a repeater and entered the mac address from the router (It said to use the lan mac address. is that right?). I have them set on same subnet with static ip addresses. They have same wireless ssid and password with one using channel 10 and the other using channel 2. I can receive an ip address from the router and connect to internet. I cannot get an ip address from the access point. I tried a static ip on the computer and it will connect, but I don't have internet. Am I missing something in the setup? Can this access point act as a repeater for this router?
