I'm having an issue with McAfee Antivirus remediation. I'm using Cisco NAC 4.8.2 and it seems that automatic remediation is not working.Is there a webpage where we can check which AV can do automatic remediation?

We're trying to disable access to certain resources via a NAR, and finding that some users are not in the ACS dynamic user database, despite that, at one point in the past, they have used it.
Am I correct in assuming that a user that has never authenticated via an ACS-controlled resource would not be in the database?
Is there any way to provide QoS using Cisco Routers and switches and MCafee FW? ( I don't mind the model of the devices, I just need to know if there's a posibility).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Cisco AG3560 to run my wccp re-direct and have a McAfee for my web gateway. My IP for the web gateway is 10.1.252.19, and my wccp router is 10.1.3.10. For whatever reason the web gateway is able to see the router and the "here i am packets" but I cannot get anything to redirect to it. My wccp config is below.

I have 3 computers on my network. The main computer is protected by mcafee. The other computers can not access the public folder on this computer. I know that the problem is the mcafee firewall because when i switch the firewall off the other computers have full access to this folder. This problem started with a mcafee upgrade. I read other forums and tried to do the "command prompt" but when I try to run as administrator it tells me "The specified service does not exist as an installed service". View 2 Replies View RelatedPretty much immediately after that I was unable to connect to internet via wireless but could still connect via ethernet cable. I have tried searching the internet and my computer to see if I could fix myself, as I'm sure there's probably just some settings somewhere that have been altered - but I'm completely bamboozled!! One thing that I noticed when trying search for settings etc is that I cannot add any wireless networks, or select my wireless network (in the network and sharing centre) so that I can select 'diagnose and repair' - my laptop just doesn't pick up anything!I have an eMachines E525 laptop with built in wireless (Atheros AR5007EG wireless network adapter) and operating system is Windows Vista Home Basic SP2.
Also, not sure if related, but on start-up I get an error message saying 'Microsoft Windows Search Indexer stopped working and was closed. A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. My network drive is not working if i install antivirus. It shows 'access denied". if I uninstall, i can access the network drive.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFew days ago the wireless in my son's Dell Inspiron 620 went bad. It does connect to my old router (WEP), but speed is terrible and connection goes bad after some time. I can also see my modern router and enter the key successfully (WPA2), but it won't connect. Connection to both routers went well for months before, and still goes well from all other devices in the house.
I read the issue with McAfee that was posted late August and followed the steps. Connection in safe mode didn't work. Then I removed McAfee from the PC, no difference. Then I restored the PC to a couple of days before the issues began, removed McAfee again (as it came back through the restore), no difference.
I reinstalled the drivers of the Dell wireless card, no difference.
I am having some trouble with the antivirus software.I had AVG antivirus installed but I thought it was causing some problems.So I unistalled it and downloaded a trial version of Bitdefender.Got it installed and found out I can't browse the web via Firefox. So I was trying to go through all the settings in Bitdef. but no luck.Uninstalled BD, rebooted the comp, still no internet. I did clean the registry and spyware as well.But the weird bit is that somehow I can browse the internet using old IE8 (64bit only. 32bit is not working?).I was also trying to re-install AVG but it could not complete as the connection with their server was blocked.It seems like something is blocking everything apart from 64bit ver. of IE8.

what I did do was manually set my IP address for my laptop for my wireless. But I no longer needed to do that so I set it back to Automatic. But every minute or so my IP is changing back to 192.168.0.12 which I did change it to, although it is on Automatic. This is my guess to as what it is doing as I have no connection to the internet after about a minute. ipconfig also displays my IP Address as being 192.168.0.12 as well.What I have to do is disable and then reenable my wireless to get it working again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Buffalo WHR-G300N router & I am having probs with assigning a static address to a nas device.I have set up the static ip address i want to use in the nas When I look at the dhcp leases in the router, the device shows up as having an automatic assignment with a different ip address to the one set in the nas.If I manually assign the ip address which I want to use, or, if I edit the automatically assigned entry, the old one stays as an automatic assignment. This means that I then have 2 ip addresses for 1 mac address.When I try to access the nas, with only the automatically assigned address present in the router settings, I can still access it using the ip address I have manually assigned to the nas, even though the manual ip does not show in the router.How can I delete the automatically assigned dhcp lease & just keep my static one??
