View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a SF 100D 5 port switch. I currently have a New dell PC connected through a wall jack to an existing router, and wanted to add an ethernet printer. When I connect everything to the switch, I can only get a link light on the printer (Not the PC or router). I did connect to the router with a tempory cable across the room, and did get a link light, but it will not work through the wall jack, which the PC does connect to the existing router through the wall jack. Also, I cannot get the PC to connect to the SF100, I tried using the same cable, that did work on the printer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTo setup SG300-20 as CORE switch and SF100-48 as Distribution switch.SG300-20 will have 2 VLAN(DATA and VOICE)
-192.168.14.1/24 DATA
-172.168.0.1/24 VOICE
SF100-48 will also have 2 VLAN(DATA and VOICE)
-192.168.14.1/24 Desktop/Laptops
-172.168.0.1/24 IP phones
Problem is when I tried to assign IP to any VLAN's the switch will just hang and loose my connection the light will stop blinking it will steady and i unable to access the switch until i turn off again?
anybody with 2 x rack mount kits for a SRW208P that they don't want? I need to rack mount these devices but my predecessor very wisely decided to throw them out and Cisco does not sell the racks as a separate SKU.

Cat5e connection to basement HP 1810G-24 switch All of these devices are connected via a single Cat5e cable that was installed when the house was built. I had to re-terminate both ends of it when I moved in because the existing terminations were done very poorly. I have no idea how or where the cable is routed, nor what the quality of this Cat5e cable is. It did pass a test using my cable tester.
This single Cat5e is connected to my main HP switch in the basement equipment rack. Both of these switches have mini-GBIC ports that can utilize SFP transceivers and fiber. I priced out 2 MGBSX1 compatible modules along with a 30M multimode fiber patch 'cable' online at under $150. Although it would require at least a couple hours of work (including digging around in the attic and crawl space and drilling some holes), but running the fiber to the basement is very doable.
My question to my far more experienced forum members is if the performance gains would be worth the effort? My server is in the basement, and despite having an Intel GB NIC in my PC I am seeing read speeds of ~23MBs and writes of ~49MBs to/from my it. My server has teamed GB NICs (802.3ad LACP Layer 2) connected to trunked (LACP) ports on my HP switch.
Our router 2821 reboots each time vpn traffic is called : - vpn connects without problem - as soon as you launch rdp, ftp or anything else traffic => the router reboots itself Consequence : no more phone, no more internet during the reboot process. A call can be cut when it happens.

We have a vehicle with an AIRONET1300 wirless bridge and an outdoor antenna that looks like the AIR-ANT1728 for wirless point to point between two vehicles. I say looks like because I have no documentation as to what it actually is.
We have a 2800 router/HWIC-3G-CDNA-S 3G card with the small indoor antenna 3G-ANTM1919D for remote access to the cell phone towers.I want to buy a larger antenna for the 3G and move it outside of the vehicle.
My question is if I buy the 3G-ANTM-OUT-OM can I mount it outside on the same pole within inches of the AIR-ANT1728 ?
It seems one operates in MHZ and the other in GHZ but i'm not sure what mouting two strong itms like that together will do.
The datasheet contains the following regarding rails and brackets:
Cisco ASA 5512-X, 5515-X, 5525-X, 5545-X, 5555-X spare rail kit - ASA-RAILS=
Cisco ASA 5512-X, 5515-X, 5525-X brackets for rack mounting - ASA-BRACKETS=
The word spare seems to imply that it comes with a set of rails. Does the ASA-5515-X come with rails and brackets, or must both of these be ordered?

I have two 3550s and two 2950s. I would like to put these on a rack. Where can I buy a rack? I can't seem to find them on new egg because I'm not sure what the steel frame part is called. And how can I get the steel holders that go on the sides of the Cisco devices to screw them onto the rack?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am considering running stacked 3750 L3 switches as the edge of the network, which will connect to the ISP. The ISP would hand off two lines with one to each switch and two lines to each client zone. Does running HSRP, running port channels, or running routing protocols seem like the best option for redundancy?
Lastly, will the 3750 provide all the QoS I should need for restricting each client zone's bandwidth both up and down? Could I get away with a lower model and still get these features?
I misplaced a set of the rackmounts and it doesn't look like this will take any other set that I have around.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the 2509-RJ Access Server installed and am able to access it via telnet within my home network. However, when I try to access it remotely, it fails each time I try. I set up a domain through dyndns.org specifically for the rack, the same thing I use for RDP to access my home computer remotely. RDP uses port 3389, which I opened up in the firewall and directed that port to my computer's internet IP. I tried opening up port 23 for telnet acccess to the IP address of the access server, 192.168.1.150. I believe the problem is with the dyndns.org domain I set up. The one I use for RDP has my public IP address attached to it. I tried doing the same thing for port 23 and routing that to the access server and it fails.

So I have some rails from an old telecom rack that I am going to build into a four post rack. It's about 24Us. How deep would I need to make the frame so that it supports full length servers like a Dell 1950 or 2950? 40 inches?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to know if any has the Nexus 7009 chassis installed into a 600 wide rack with the sides fitted and if they are experiencing heat issues?
My client will be replacing their aging 6509 chassis with 7009 devices, but the physicals dont tally with the install guidelines for the 7009 series chassis. The current install of the 6509s does not tally with the recommended install guidelines for those either, but they have not expereienced any heat issues...
The 7009 will be fitted with 2xSUP2E, 3x48portSFP-F2E cards and 2x10GSFP-M2 cards with 2x6K PSUs. I am genuinely concerned they may cook these devices, but space restrictions look like vetoing the upgrade to 800 wide racks. Likewise moving to 7010 chassis may prove tricky due to existing other installs within the racks limiting vertical space.
I have a 300 series switch with VLAN1 untagged, VLAN 15,5,100 tagged. I want say ports 1-12 to use one uplink/trunk and 13-24 to use another uplink. All ports should have the same default VLAN1 and be tagged for 5,15,100. I'm trying to ease the load on two wireless uplinks(one is a Cisco 1242AG and the other is a UBNT PowerBridge.) I don't want to add another switch. Model: SF 300-24P

Configuration ESW X:
port e1 : ACCESS PORT on UNTTAGGED Vlan 2
port e2 : ACCESS PORT on UNTTAGGED Vlan 2
port e3 : ACCESS PORT on UNTTAGGED Vlan 3
port e4 : ACCESS PORT on UNTTAGGED Vlan 3

Each Vlan can't communicate between the two switch, I think they're a problem in my vlan/port configuration?
I would like to configure a switch to act like a Hub. I know about the mirroring port configuration, but unfortunately is not enough for me. Is it possible to do that with the switch that I have (i.e. SG 200-08) ? If not do you know a switch on which I can configure it like a hub (that mean no flow control between physical ports).
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave deployed a few of these - and am truly frustrated that I cannot see then in the topolgy, let alone actually manage them. Why such a ubiquitous switch is not supported.
Even the SmartPort utility is useless - CCA (3.3.1 and earlier) gives an error saying a port is incorrectly configured (I pluggged it into an exp port on the UC560 as I gave up trying to get a working uplink to an ESW-540-24P).
The Smartport port function wants the exp port (on the UC560) to be configured as a "Phone/Desktop" - if I try to change it to a "switch", it refuses to accept it saying the "Macro is unsuitable - or similar"
I am trying to setup an ACL on SG 300 switch. I want to create an ACL that enables hosts on our guest network to obtain IP addresses from a server on our "internal" network but they should not be able to reach any other resorses on that network. I set it up as follow, but it does not work the way i want. I have also bind interfaces to the ACL.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a SF 200-24P Cisco switch that seems to be rebooting constantly, When i connect it to mains power it seems to go through a startup cycle, in this order - i have tried this with no network devices attached and the same thing happens
1. Fan starts - continously runs
2. Very quick flash of all RJ45 ports.
3. After about 30 seconds, any network devices connected have an acticity light
4. After about another 45 seconds, all ports light up including the activity and POE orange LEDs for about 5- 10 seconds then go off.
5. About 10 seconds later the ports all light up again and stay on for about 5 seconds.
6. All ports go off and the cycle keeps repeating continously.
I have tried pinging the switch without success.I have also tried disconnecting all devices from each port with no success. At no time does the system LED on the left light up.I have tried resetting to factory default with reset pot on the left side. This is a brand new shipped switch from our cisco supplier, could it be DOA?
