3. Does the DFC3 card is embedded in the line card physically?

We are running on IOS Verison 12.2 (33SXH2A) i.e. VSS.Blade model number is WS-X6748.
The WS-X68xx series line card has a fabric of 40Gbps and a 16 Port 10GE has a 4:1 oversubscription rate. The WS-X6908-10G has a fabric speed of 80Gbps and has a 1:1 oversubscription rate.
If I mixed the 68xx and 69xx series line card, do I get 80Gbps for the 6900x and 40gbps for the 68xx line card? Or would the 69xx series line card be downgraded to 40Gbps?
From my understanding, the 68xx series has a DFC card and thus the fabric speed operates independently.

As a result we are not able to enable the VSS functionality. We are looking to replace the existing line cards with the following:
1. 1 x WS-X6716-10G-3C
2. 1 x WS-X6724-SFP
3. 4 x WS-X6724-GE-TX
What are the requirements in terms of IOS and Roman.

Is it possible to use a 10GE interface on a sup720 and an interface from a 671610GE line card and create a port channel. I haven't found specific documentation on CCO stating you can. I have found the QOS queuing is differnet between the sup and line card.

I am writing with regard to a high memory utilization that we have on a pair of line card WS-X6748-GE-TX and WS-X6724-SFP for a VSS 6500. I am enclosing a little part of the "show tech"of this VSS 6500 where is possible to see the high memory utilization of the line cards 1/1, 1/2, 2/1, and 2/2, in despite of having some ports in state connected. We are configuring a twice-nat to send traffic for scansafe, its on a asa5505 ve 8.4(3) on a remote location for the customes. The nat redirecion is working but we also have a VPN tunnel to the corporate network. Through the tunnel we need to reach a http server. The problem we are having is that when we add the scan-safe nat, all http traffic gets redirected to scansafe, includind the traffic to the http server on the corporate network.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have got a big problem with our NAM (WS-SVC-NAM-1) - it does not boot. We have got a second one and in an other chassis. I changed the chassis, and RAM and Flash from the other one. RAM and Flash are ok.
We checked the disc (hardware) with an Ontrack-tool -it is OK.

As long as I have been doing this stuff, I have never had a clear understanding of all of the 6500 boot images and statements. The more I read online, the more I get confused.
1. What is the boot image "boot-mz" for? Where should it be placed (i.e. bootflash)? what command do I need to issue in order to use the boot image I want?
2. What is the IOS rommon image for? I thought the rommon image was the boot image but apparently these are two different images. Where should it be placed (i.e. bootflash, sup-bootflash, etc). What command do I use to ensure that I am using this IOS rommon image?
On cisco and am having some issues with intervlan routing. I have followed the vids and manuals but just can seem to get this working. I have the following network lab set up.

The network gods recently updated our 6500 and upon reboot, the FWSM booted to CF:1 maintence partition,which caused an immediate outage. On the router, I ran the following command to set the default FWSM boot partition to the configuration with:Router#boot device module 4 cf:5 However, it appears the "show boot device" command has been replaced with "show bootvar" which doesn't show me which partition the router will boot the FWSM to. Is there a command I can run from the Router that will actually confirm the boot partition for the FWSM if the router reloads.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy wireless connection takes about 5 minutes to actually work once I reboot my windows computer. Once I start it, the wireless indicator in the bottom right corner of the screen shows that it is loading, but then freezes and doesn't let me use most applications on my computer. Then all of a sudden it will so a wireless signal and connection and everything works just fine. On the other hand, when I use the function key on my keyboard that turns off the wireless card before I restart my computer, the wireless stays off when I reboot. Then I turn it back on using the function keys and my wireless will connect automatically. Why is it that the wireless card/connection won't start up quickly if I just leave it on like people always do normally? Why is it that I have to toggle it on/off all the time for it to work connect quickly?
