Jun 2, 2013I am using 10Gig link to connect distribution and access switches. Since we are terminating the cables at multiple locations, we are also doing the link budgeting. The CISCO SFP 10G-LR module data sheet shows two values for the transmit power one of which is maximum power .5dBm and another is minimum power -8.2 dBm. Which value should I choose for the link budgeting.

I believe this can be accomplished by IP routing, but have no clue on how to do it. What I would need to input into the 3660 to make it work? Right now the 3660 has the factory default setup, I haven't configured anything on that yet.

Right now I have two Belkin routers for each network. In addition I have a Cisco 2600 and 3660. I know they are old, but they seem to be in operational order. Can I use those to combine to two networks? The only thing I want to maintain is the speed on the gig network, from the router to the PC's and devices.

Mar 20, 2005I am troubleshooting interface resets on a 3660 connected to a 3550 over Fast Ethernet. I have hard coded both sides for full duplex and 100Mbit. The 3660 is incrementing interface resetes about 4-6 times a day and the 3550 is clean. I have noticed this in other similar configurations as well.

May 26, 2013I have a good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking. I have a Cisco 3660 router I'm wanting to use in place of a WRT54G router with my Charter cable internet service. I saw a youtube video where a guy demonstrated how to use a Cisco 2600 series router with home broadband service. I followed the video to setup my 3660 router. I can ping the LAN side (192.168.1.1) with no problem, the DHCP functions as it should. I can see activity on the on the WAN port indicator but no internet access. I have attached .doc file that shows the "sho run" info. My network will be setup as follows Charter Cable Motorola Surf Modem - ethernet to MM fiber converter - MM fiber over to Sun Microsystems cabinet fiber closet - MM fiber card (on Cisco 3660 router FA6/0 WAN interface) - LAN interface FA0/0 - Cisco 3524 managed switch. One of the gigabit MM fiber ports on the Cisco 3524 feeds a 3Com Superstack 12 port gigabit fiber managed switch. My two Dell 2950 servers will be on the Superstack gigabit fiber backbone. The Cisco 3524 10/100 ports will have a Cisco access point, two IP addressible battery backup units, two Dell Desktops, and a LG Blu Ray player.

I can establish an outbound connection to the receiver and the connection shows up on the machine. After the connection is established I can send data and it is received by the receiving application (I observed this using a socket test application, data actually gets through the firewall) However I need to send an acknowledgment back on the same session to the sender. This cannot be transmitted and shortly after I try sending the connection is closed with error 10060.

There will be 2 offices each with 40 access points. The wireless will need to support roaming voice traffic. Will I have any issues with flexconnect and 30 access points? I'm aware that you can only have 25 aps per flexconnect group but I dont know if this has any limitations such as dirty roaming? Also is tunneling traffic back to the WLC ok for voice and video traffic as the traffic will have to travel back from the data centreto the local offices ?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Can't Configure Data T1 On 1760 Router
Nov 18, 2012For the past few days I've been attempting to configure a data T1 on a Cisco 1760, but I'm stuck at:
Serial0/0 <our ip address> YES NVRAM up down
To provide a bit of background. This router used to be configured with a T1 via Frame-Relay; which worked fine. Now we recently change offices and providers, and the provider did not offer any information as to which encapsulation type to use, and if Frame-Relay which DLCI to use, etc.
Now I've been trying to setup the T1 connection and testing various settings such as encapsulation HDLC and PPP, but no luck. I also played around with the line codes and framing; which resulted in the following framing sf int down, line prot down, framing esf int up, line prot down. Regardless no luck.
Now I've been following several guides and examples mainly the following: [URL] In this guide they make mention of a WIC-1DSU-T1-V2, but as you can see in the show diag snippet at the bottom; we have a WIC-1DSU-T1 version 1.5. I dont' know if this poses a problem for us.
Throughout the entire process I've seen a few irregularities for example:
1. Router(config-if)#service-module t1 cablelength short 110ft

The IOS doesn't recognize any command with service module t1 ca , and the only recognized command with C is clock.
2. If I enter the following list of commands under the serial interface:

Cisco Wireless :: RV120W Firewall / Router Corrupts Data?
Jul 22, 2011I just recently replaced an older linksys pre-N router with a RV 120W. I thought this would be a good choice as a more professional router. I installed this router last week and things seemed to be working normally for web browsing, though I was receiving more incomplete pages and broken graphics. Yesterday, I tried to watch a youtube video a friend had sent me and it would not play. I tried several other videos from youtube and other sources with the same result: stalled videos, partial played videos followed by a spinning wheel. It was late, so I figured something was going on with Comcast and went to sleep. This morning, I was trying to download Anti-virus updates. The updates failed multiple times. I then tried some videos again with the same results. I tried downloading .ZIP files from several sources, and while the file completely downloaded, each and every file was corrupted and unusable. Before I called Comcast to complain about my Internet being flaky, I unplugged the Comcast Arris TM502G device from the Cisco router and plugged it directly into my computer fully expecting the problem to persist, but the problem immediately dissapeared. The immediate evidence is that the problem lays with the Cisco Router. It appears that I can't make any changes on the Comcast device as it has a comcast public IP address and does not seem to have any web or telnet interface to change the settings.
- On the Cisco router, I disabled every non-essential service: VLAN, QOS (bandwidth profiles), IPV6, etc
- I updated the FW to the newest version the day I installed the router
- I power cycled the router
- I power cycled the comcast device
I need to resolve this issue as soon as possible, but I'm not sure what to try next, and I'm confused about my support options after trying to navigate Cicso's support pages. It offers live chat, e-mail support, etc, but everything I go into requires a contract number.

Sep 23, 2012I am hoping to have my internal data NOT sent via the router.I'm trying to figure out if data from the Windows PC to the Ubuntu PC goes via the N750 AND the router or just the N750.It should be noted that the N750 is set up as an access point with DHCP/NAT disabled. I have read that switches (and I assume this "access point") can store the MAC Addresses of computers to cut out the router, but I'm not sure how to make sure that that's happening.

Jan 28, 2012How can I tell if the ATT Data Service on my iPad is going through an ATT Carrier Grade NAT router or proxy server? Why I can't tell.
1. iPad does not have an interface that shows the assigned address on the Data Connecton or access to any terminal commands.
2. The reported ATT (Cingular) address is 166.147.103.208 if you use a What-Is-My-IP type of service. On a Verizon (not ATT) iPad I can ping all the way back to the iPad and turning the iPad off stopped the Ping Response . . . but there is no answer when I ping the ATT iPad 166.147.103.208 and Trace Route to the iPad stops answering at the border of the ATT network.
3. If I make a page request on an IIS web server from the ATT iPad, the web server logs 166.147.103.208 (see above) as the source address and logs the iPad as the source device, but 166.147.103.208 could still be an ATT proxy, not the iPad because some NAT routers change the source IP address to themselves.
We want to use an ATT Hotspot as the the permanent always-on home internet service where there is no other option (except satellite). We need dynamic DNS at the home, and that requires a routable public address on the ATT-hotspot. We are guessing the iPad and HotSpot would be using the same ATT network.So how can I tell if the iPad has an ATT address that can be reached from the internet (no proxy's or carrier grade NAT routers)

Jan 10, 2012 I have a 1.5 TB USB hard drive attached to me E4200. Configuring it so that multiple computers have access and can read and write their files is quite simple. I've followed the instructions and had no difficulty.
My problem is this, after about a week's time has passed any file that has been on the hard drive for more than a week become undeletable. Any attempt to modify it or remove it pops up a message saying I need permission from a specific user (always the user that I am currently logged in as!) to perform the operation on the file.
When this starts to happen, the device is, otherwise, perfectly functional. I will still be able to create new files and delete any newly created files from the drive without difficulty even when those files are in the same directory as the files that the device will no longer let me edit. Examination of the file properties dialog shows that the files that the device refuses to allow me to delete are identical in every way to any new file that I create. Yet newly created files are removable but these older files ... are not.
I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that the HDD mounting feature of the device just doesn't actually work as advertised.
FWIW: all my computers are using Windows 7 with the latest build. I do access the device from these computers wirelessly.
