Cisco WAN :: ASR1002 - Show Policy Map Interface With Nested Class-Maps

Jul 18, 2011

I have a requirement to provide stats on a per-department, per-destination basis between sites. If I take Voice as an example I have 5 child classes referring to the 5 departments each matching EF and a particular access-list that matches the department's subnet. I tie these 5 child classes into a parent Voice class-map.

Now when I issue a "show policy-map interface" command I see stats for the parent class-map only whereas I would expect to see a breakdown for each of the child classes which is what is required.

I am doing this on an ASR1002 running 3.2.2.

Cisco :: ASR1002 SNMP Statistics For GRE Tunnel Interface Statistics

Mar 28, 2013

We use Cacti to get interfaces statistics of a ASR1002 router (version 03.04.02.S.151-3.S2).A new GRE tunnel has been created, but unfortunately we are not able to get basic interface average during the day. What is surprising is the fact the graphs are built on the night only.

It seems as soon as we exceed some level of Bandwidth (~ 700-800k) the tool does not get the information. The OID I try to get are ifHCInOctets (.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6) and ifHCOutOctets (.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10) and some other interface statistics for both 64 and 32 bits. [code]

Attach NAS Without Router?

Oct 15, 2012

I just upgraded to BT infinity Fibre optic boradband... I now have a modem downstairs with a wi-fi router attached, however I don't have any space nearby to put my NAS... The modem and router have to be downstairs due to the cables. I want to connect my NAS to my iMAc which is upstairs, but also to my Macbook Air...

The iMac is upstairs and that is where my old router was, so I have my NAS up next to the iMac. I was thinking that maybe I could get a wi-fi extender with a built in ethernet port and connect the NAS to the extender... or maybe connect the NAS directly into the iMac...

Cisco :: 1242AG - AP Cannot Attach To WLC In Particular Conditions

May 22, 2012

I am struggling since many weeks for an issue in my Wireless infrastructure.

I have an LAP (1242AG) in one B site that I would like to attach (in H-REAP mode) to the WLC of site A(5508 v6.0.199.4). The topology is as follows:

MPLS - Site A - MAN - Site B.

When Site A is fully connected, all is fine, my AP of site B can successfully join the WLC of site A.

However, when the WAN interface of the router of site A is disconnected, the AP cannot associate successfully to the WLC. For us, it does not make any sense during that time, the AP of site B can successfully ping the WLC of site A and the traceroutes show the exact same path.

I took some debug on the AP and the WLC while the AP's was trying to associate to the WLC (when the WAN link of Site A was disconnected) and also when the AP could successfuly join the WLC when the WAN link of site A was reconnected.

Sharing :: How To Attach Notification To File

Nov 25, 2011

I'm on a network in an office where each person's computer has different specs, some PC, some Mac. We all share files off a common drive, either using it directly, or, copying it to our local machine to work on it then return it to the shared drive. I'm looking for a way to attach a notification to a file to let everyone know it has been "signed out" by someone, to avoid two people taking the same file at the same time.I looked at a simple program called Shediko Badges, which puts a badge over the icon, by right clickingon the file and choosing a badge from a menu, and undone just as easily, however, it can't be seen by everyone else on the network. This is the sort of thing I'm looking for, simple, cheap or free, that somehow marks a specific file without changing the name. It could be a colour change, an icon change... whatever, ideally with several options, for example where a different colour could be assigned to each person in the office, similar to the coloured labels on a Mac.

D-Link DIR-825 :: Can Run A Cable And Attach Antennas

Jan 12, 2013

My DIR-825 is not in an ideal spot so I am thinking of getting an extension cable for the antenna (probably for both), drilling a little hole in a wall and mounting the antenna in a more central location. It really is just on the other side of a wall, maybe 5 feet total for distance, but in an open area where the signal should reach more of the house.

Can I run a cable and attach the antennas five feet away from the device itself? Is there anything I should look for in an extension cable?

Cisco WAN :: ASR1002 With Full Bgp Table(s)

Jun 19, 2011

I've inherited a project building an internet connectivity solution for a large corporate. It has its own AS and its own PI space. They are putting in 100Mbit connections from 5 different Tier1's , taking full internet routing from each. Cisco ASR1002's have already been specified and purchased for the job. I'm not familiar with the ASR platform at all - is it up to the job with full routing tables? multiple instances of full tables ? (not likely to put all 5 into one box!)

Cisco WAN :: ASR1002 Dynamic NAT Entries Are Not Released

May 31, 2012

we are using an ASR 1002 for dynamic NAT (with route maps). I do have a Problem with the usage of the NAT pool it self. The total NAT Translations for the pool are:

#sh ip nat stat
[Id: 1] route-map natted-host-01 pool nat-pool-01 refcount 136
pool nat-pool-01: netmask 255.255.254.0
start XX.XX.202.0 end XX.XX.203.255
type generic, total addresses 512, allocated 88 (17%), missee 0

If i now look into the NAT translation Table i do get less entries:

#sh ip nat translations filter map-id dynamic 1 total Total number of translations: 43

Only a deeper look into the QFP gives here the right values:

# sh platform hardware qfp active feature nat data The ouput count matches the values I get if i isue a sh ip nat stat

My question is how is it handled internally.

We do have a problem too, with raising usage of the pool over the time.Once allocated Pool entries are not released after a period of time. And no NAT translation occur for that used IP NAT pool Addresses.

The timer on the device are set:
ip nat translation timeout 300
ip nat translation tcp-timeout 900
ip nat translation pptp-timeout 900
ip nat translation udp-timeout 120
ip nat translation routemap-entry-timeout 900
ip nat translation max-entries 750000
