Cisco WAN :: Configuring 1841 Router With WIC-ADSL1 Module?
Aug 16, 2011
I only know a little about programming a CISCO router but I know the config I setup is not working...
Here is what I want to do...
The ISP provides us with IP Addresses via DHCP. Our public address is NOT static so the interface on the DSL Module needs to be provisioned to get a DHCP address with a CLASS C License. The IP address of the Router should be 10.0.0.10 subnet=255.255.255.0The LAN Clients need receive their IP address via DHCP EXCEPT for a range of 100 addresses. The lan Clients only need about 40 DHCP addresses.ONE of the Lan Clients (10.0.0.3) needs to have ports 25, 1723, and others forwarded to it.
Below is the config I am trying to use but I can't even ping the router from the LAN.
I have a Hwic 3G-GSM module in an 1841 router. The sim card in the module is configured on an APN no username and password. I have checked all the config from a working router 1841 plus the same module and same vendor Sim card on the APN and all is working. I have configured the second router but it doesn't want to connect at all. If i put the Sim card in a standard 3G modem life is good, and I can connect to the APN and get the static IP address. When I'm trying to initiate the connection from the 1841 the Sim card wont connect.
My config to debug:
sh ip int brief Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol FastEthernet0/0 10.20.20.1 YES NVRAM up up FastEthernet0/1 unassigned YES NVRAM up up Cellular0/1/0 unassigned YES NVRAM up up NVI0 10.20.20.1 YES unset up up
[ code] ...........
I'm not sure if the cellular card is calling the wrong script (d0efault-d0ials0crip) instead of the gsm one configured.
I am configuring new ASA 5520 with AIP module for our network with HA (2 boxes), would be the best practice to configure in order to protect web servers and email server.
i have 2 X 6509 with 6708 & sip-400 with spa 1XOC-48.i need to have a layer 2 tunnel between them.can i have a vpls configuration with that scenario ?, meaning configuring the Xconnect on the 6708 module and the sipspa will do the vpls encapsulation ?
We have Cisco 3945 Router with SM-ES3-24P Switch Module. when we tried to configure routing in Router and Layer 3 ports on Switch module, the inter-communicaiton is not working?
how we can use routing in 3945 with SM-ES3-24P module?
We just received a new C2911 G2 ISR and have been trying to configure the EtherSwitch SM-ES2-24-P module on it. Through the router console, I tried assigning an IP address to the router Gi1/1 interface which I assume is the link to the Etherswitch module but all I'm getting is "IP addresses may not be configured on L2 links" - as per the docs, I should be able to assign an IP address on that "logical" interface link. Any other way for me to configure the ports on that switch module?
I have a CISCO 1841 with a HWIC interface to my ISP. I want to make a ADSL connection and my current running-file is: [code] The problem I have is that the ISP connection is established but then goes down.
We upgrade our Internet service in our India office which required a new router. The local vendor suggested an 1841, so that is what we have. It has two fastethernet ports on it.
The ISP (Airtel) provided the following IP address information:
Public WAN IP : 122.181.23.200/30 WAN IP : 122.181.23.202SUBNET MASK : 255.255.255.252GATEWAY : 122.181.23.201Pri DNS : 125.22.47.125Sec DNS : 202.56.250.5
Can you configure a Cisco 1941 to use an 8 port EHWic module and the 2 onboard GE ports in a single LAN?
I've discovered you can't have the on GE ports associated with a VLan, and I'm when I've previously researched for a solution, bridging was mentioned but I cannot seem to get it to work (or completely understand it)The reason I would like to use all 10 ports on for the LAN is becuase I have 10 devices I need to connect to the 1941?
I have a cisco 2600 router with 4A/S module, can it become the terminal server? If yes, which kind of octal cable should I choose to connect to other cisco routers console ports?
I am in search of a 1 Gig Ethernet WAN module for 2900, 3900 series router.I want to terminate 230mbps link on this module.I found EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU option but as per service provider it will not support to 230mbps link.
Is this module supported in the CISCO2900 routers?I have come across two documents that seem to contradict each other:In this one says:
Cisco 8-Port Channelized T1/E1 and ISDN PRI High-Speed WAN Network Module # –Part number: NM-8CE1T1-PRI # –Provides channelized T1 or E1 connections or ISDN PRI connection # –Supported on Cisco 3800, Cisco 2900, and Cisco 3900 series routers
Is there any risk to install an HWIC-2FE card into a production 3845 router while it is in a powered up state? Is it recommended to power it down first, then install it?
I have a CISCO 851W router in the garage that I want to connect to my Linksys router in the office, which is connected to the internet. The 851W is connected from it's WAN port to Lan port 1 of the Linksys router. Now, currently that ethernet cable is a straight-through cable. Does it have to be crossover? If so, I can fix that.
I want the default gateway for the CISCO router to be 192.168.2.1. I am not sure how to configure that. [URL]
We have 7200 router on which two links from different ISPs are terminated. Right now one link is primary and the second one is redundant. Now we have procured our own IPs and plan to run BGP with both the service provider. Can we configure GLBP on the router so that both the links can be simultaneously used and when one goes down the other takes the full load.
i want to configure the router for internet access for hosts this is the my pub ip x.x.x.174 and mask 255.255.255.252 this is isp given subnetmask internal ip range is x.x.x.20-x.x.x.254
I use the cisco 871 router as a firewall to my home-office. I have configured two vlans for each seperate port. That is, FE0 configured as VLAN 10 ----> connected to Layer 2 Switch, FE1 configured as VLAN 20 ----> connected to another Cisco Layer 2 Switch,FE2 not in use, FE3 not in use and FE4 is connected to WAN.I got 100Mbps speed from the ISP, but I can see that I only get 50mbps even connected to VLAN 10 or VLAN 20.Does configuring two VLANs on Cisco 871 router divides the bandwidth (to Internet) into half?
We just recently purchased a 3945 ISR G2 router and have a SRE-910 module (with two hard drives) configured in a Raid 1. We are running a stand-alone version of ESXi on the service module and I'm trying to figure out how to monitor the status of the Raid on the drives (along with other health issues). SNMP has revealed nothing so far and even opening a support case for which MIB's to use has proved fruitless. All the documents I find on monitoring the modules say to use LMS which is now Cisco Prime. I've downloaded the trial copy, put in the SNMP settings and scanned the router. I get device results and it shows that I have the SRE-910 module installed, but I get no other configuration / device informaiton from the module itself.
I tried to create a new Monitoring template using the NAM health as the base template (which I'm assuming this is the correct template). Unfortunately, when I actually try to deploy the template against the discovered router, I get an 'Unexpected end of list' error which makes me assume I'm still doing something wrong.
I have a Cisco ASA5505 with Frontier ADSL. I broke into their crappy little modem and obtained the settings needed to replace their modem with a 2621 router with a WIC-1ADSL module. I have a static IP from Frontier which is on my ASA5505 and the Dialer interface on the 2621 gets its address from Frontier via DHCP. There are devices behind the ASA which I need access while in the field, IP Cameras, Seed Treater, etc., so I have Anyconnect running on the ASA and can access everything from my laptop, iPhone and iPad from whereever. The issue arises when my laptop is in house and communicating with my parent company and I try to make a cell phone call off the network extender. The call is choppy since there is no QoS and the data is strangling the voice. Since I have control over the 2621, I added another network and NAT it into Frontier without them knowing. I have since placed the network extender on this network as well as a WAP200 that is wide open for my customers when they are in the office. Doesn't fix the problem but...
I have now added Evertek Wireless internet with a static IP also but they use a reservation based on the MAC Address of my interface of the ASA. This plugs directly intot the ASA via ethernet (I would assume their antenna is just a wireless bridge). I set route tracking on the Evertek side and use the Frontier as a backup and all devices on my NAT network still funcion on Frontier DSL and all my nornal data traffic is out Evertek. The issue is that the Evertek Wireless is not very fast or reliable (today in during a snow storm, it could barely keep an internet connection). And I had a problem with Anyconnect using either connection. I got that working. But think that the "ip address x.x.x.x y.y.y.y dhcp setroute" on the Evertek side messed things up from a routing standpoint when I would connect from the outside on the Frontier side. For testing, I switched the tracking around and now the connection on the Frontier side does not work but that is besides the point.
Frontier is going to try out an ADSL/2 connection next week which brings up another issue; all Frontier connections come into my buidling on a single 4-pair wire so if they go down, all my internet except the Evertek goes down. I have a Raven Slingshot coming for installation shortly that cannot go down; it will provide RTK (sub-inch accuracy GPS) to my customers that have auto-steer and auto-shutoff capabilities in their tractors via cellular data modem. So, while they are planting their crops in the field, if my connection goes down, their tractor will not function.
I also had a Cisco UC320W but it died a few days after it went off warranty so I replaced it with a Dell Server running 3CX IP PBX that supports Cisco SPA525G2 and SPA501G IP Phones. There is a 3CX iPhone app that allows me to receive calls while in the field, it uses a proprietary tunnel that I have open on the ASA. With 4-pair coming into my building, I will be left with a single 1-pair for phones so I am considering a SIP provider instead.
Can/should I move the Evertek ethernet to the third ethernet interface on the 2621 and track the Frontier DSL against the Evertek (backup) on the 2621 side and use the ASA to track the ADSL/2 against the 2621? Should I acquire an 1841 (or some other device that suppports the HWIC) with a ADSL/2 card and use HSRP between the 2621 and 1841? Is that even possible?
I have 2 cisco 1841 routers the one is connected to my local network and the other is the stub router and it only has 2 fastethernet interfaces. fao/1 connected to the local network and fa0/0 connected to the internet and to the other router. How can i configure NAT on the fa0/0 which is sharing the internet and local network
1841 & 3845 router. We send 30 GB data on 100 Mbps link. First time we use 3845 router for sending the data and 47 Min are required to complete the data, during this link utilization was 100%. After that we send same data through 1841 router & 46 Min are required for the same. Only difference in data transfer is CPU Utilization of 1841 router goes 30% & 5 % of 3845 router Can we use 1841 router instead of 3845 router ? .
I have got a cisco 1841 router. I need to do many nat. I have got a lots of virtual interface on this router. How many nat inside and outside does it supports ? Can I do more than one nat insdie and outside in different virual interfaces on the same single router.
A client was having some email issue and was requested to change the 1841's LAN and WAN interface MTU to 1400 bytes. i've used 'mtu' command but was rejected and got an error like to one attached. so i used 'ip mtu' instead to make the change.
What's the difference between the 2 commands and if this would achieve the said change. I've checked using the show interface it's still showing MTU of 1500 bytes.
I m trying to make the vpn session using m GRE tunnel between cisco 891/k9 and 1841 router.. there is the fixed ip add with the 1841 router, and another one doesnt have the static ip from the ISP, In this case, im going to use DMVPN, The problem is , after completing the configuration, the tunnel inteface of the 1841 router will be seen like this.
I want to connect my office network through anyconnect software and want to have the access of the whole network at my office, so that I can feel that I am at office. I have got 1841 router at my office. Is it possible to do VPN with anyconnect on 1841 router. Which IOS is required for SSL vpn ?
We have 1841 router (Cisco IOS Software, 1841 Software (C1841-ADVSECURITYK9-M), Version 12.4(9)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)), currently the router up and running on "c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-9.T1.bin" and when we try to upgrade the IOS with "c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-24.T7.bin" its not taking the new IOS. [code]
when I start the router , I can't enter the IOS , and it enther the ROMMON mode , the error display probably is : the flash is invalid.I want to import an new IOS into the flash, but it says the space is not enough.how I confirm the flash is broken? It's any other ways to solve this problem except to change the flash?
In my company, we have two Internet connections, one for VPN and the other for emails and browsing. I have Cisco 1841 router with dual ADSL links, and also it's conntected to ASA and the other PIX. through one physical interface (vlan 1and vlan 2). The PIX firewall is connected to users, and the ASA is for VPN only. How can I seperate the traffic is going for emails and browsing and the vpn traffic. I have got to the point, that the router is configured for both ADSL connections, and I also configured the access-list and route-map in the router, the thing is when both ADSL configured together none of them works.
