Recently I purchased AIR-WLC2112-K9, but when I logged in I saw that system shows only 6 APs supported (I made print screen in addition). I'm running IOS v. 7.0.116.0 and I saw that there was some problems with earlier versions of IOS, but not this one.
View 5 RepliesWe replaced a WLC2106 with a WLC2112 and the 2112 can't authenticate anything. Both WLCs have the exact same configuration on them. We are using a RADIUS server to do MAC authentication. Both WLCs have been set to use no delimiter in the MAC filtering.
When the 2106 is in place, we have no issues and all allowed devices can authenticate without issue. However, when the 2106 is removed and the 2112 is powered up, every single device fails authentication and is put on the exclusion list. When we check RADIUS, it tells us the devices fail because they are locked. We unlock the device's account, and 5 minutes later the 2112 has screwed something up and they are locked again.
I'm in the process of trying to get a used LAP1142N access point connected to my already established WLAN. We currently have 7 active LAP1142N, our controller is a AIR-WLC2112-K9, and I am only trying to add one additional access point. I say this access point is used because we purchased it used, given it's not out of the box and hasn't ever been active in my environment. So far what I've tried is initially connecting the access point on to my network (powered over Ethernet) and consoled in from my desktop. With this, I was able to see the previous configuration so I ran a write erase/ reload. The AP shows a solid green light, but doesn't receive any configuration from the controller even when plugged directly in to the controller (on ports 7 and 8). I'm new to wireless, but familiar with Cisco CLI and web interfaces. I can't necessarily tell if this AP is set to autonomous as opposed to lightweight, but that could be the problem. Otherwise I'm lost. I've attached text files with the boot from CLI and show run from CLI.Let me know any additional information you may need. End note, I'm recieving DHCP (you can tell from boot), but it's not the same subnet as my controller or other active access points.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a wlc2112-k9. I have succesfully setup a WLAN with 802.1x authentication and dynamic VLAN assignment. The issue I have (and maybe it isn't an issue and just the way the controller works) is that if the vlan interfaces I have defined are connected to different ports from which the default interface for the WLAN it doesn't work.So for instance, I create my WLAN and set the interface to the management interface (which is connected to port 1). I then define all my other vlan interfaces that could be returned by my radius server.[code]
Port 1 is configured on the switch on vlan 21. If the radius server returns a VLAN ID of 102, 104 or 106 my client successfully connects to the WLAN but it gets put on VLAN 21. However if I move the vlan interfaces above over to port 1 the client correctly gets put on the correct VLAN.All ports on the switch are configured as trunk with the native vlan set to the corresponding value that is set on the WLC.
Is this just the way the controller functions? That it can't assign a client to a different interface that is connected to a different port from the default one setup when the WLAN is created? I would have just though that if the radius server returned VLAN 102 that it would find that interface and connect the user session via that interface regardless of the port it is configured on.
I'm having a problem configuring local EAP Authentication using CA (Windows Server) and LDAP server. I followed the URL:

but it seems that CA has no effect. Any wireless client who has his own LDAP account can access to the network.What I want is just allow some wireless clients to access if they have approved CA before.
I am implementing wireless lan controller for a customer's site. This site uses Cisco WLC2112 and AIR-LAP1041. I configure via start-up wizard and WLAN security configuration. The client joining via WLAN seems to work fine, able to browse Internet. But when adding a shared printer or sharing files, the machine's unable to find the computer name. When test pinging, it replies when pinging by IP only. This is not happened when using a LAN wire.

I have an issue with Cisco 3560V2-24-PS which it indicates not supported in DFM. I can see the device working properly when I do snmpwalk and snmv3 test and device credential test. In fact I can see chassis view of this device.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 4410N set up on my network. I'm using 4 VLANs on my network, of which, I use my default VLAN 1, as the "public" VLAN which we use to give our clients free WiFi. I would like to have two SSIDs visible from the access point, one unsecured and connected to VLAN 1, and the other secured with WPA2 and connected to our office VLAN on which various servers and resources are available. My preference is for both SSIDs to be visible, as there is not a major security issue and as the only IT person, I do not have time to configure every computer which uses the network with the SSID, but I'll do that if I have to.
I set up the 4410N with it's first SSID using our public WiFi name and did not put any security on it. I went to the VLAN page and set it to use VLAN 1 as both the default VLAN and the VLAN for the first SSID. Then I went back to the Basic Settings page and added a second SSID and chose "Enabled". I went to the Security page and left most things as default (Wireless Isolation between SSIDs is enabled) and changed the security settings for the office SSID to WPA2-Personal. Finally I went to the VLAN page and set it's VLAN to 4.
When I go back to my computer, or from other wireless devices, I only see the public SSID, not the office. I do see on my computer (Win7 x64) an "Other Network" option, but the signal strength on that network is significatnly weaker than that of the public SSID. Also, if I try to connect to it using the office SSID name and the password I set, it doesn't connect.
Am I completely misunderstanding how multiple SSIDs are supposed to work? I am working from a lot of assumptions here.
PS I have no clue if this would affect it, but in the interest of listing all possible factors, the 4410N is powered via PoE and the switch port it is connected to is set to 802.1Q with 1-4 set as the VLANs.
After posting this I discovered that in the Wireless Status page, both SSIDs are listed, but only one (the public SSID) has a MAC listed. I assume I need to add one somewhere. Where should I do this, and what's a "safe" MAC to use that won't conflict with anything?
I have 6 of the 1252 APs that suddenly no longer will associate with any of my 3 4400 controllers. I've verified the power injectors are up and good, shut the port on the switch, and even moved from one power injector to another. Also, in WCS there is a picture of what looks like 3 disks stacked on top of each other, and I don't know what that means.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have an issue in which some of our public IPs will not work from outside. We have a couple of subnets/29. We allow traffic via access rules and they point to internal servers (nat to nat). So I requested an ARP table from our ISP router. The table shows that the non working IPs have a differect MAC address than the working IPs. Our ISP blames our equipment (CIsco ASA 5510) for this. I spoke to Cisco support. They looked at our configuration, and tested it. They say our configuration is correct and the ISP's equipment is doing it.

As you can see above, the IP ending in 205 has a different MAC address ending in 4cd9. It should end in 4cd8. This seems to happened randomly with all IPs. Like if I restart the ASA. Some of the IPs will not work, and will show a different MAC address.We then have to wait a couple of hrs for them to start work again.

I need to delete a device from CiscoWorks but I cannot find it in the Common Services->Device Management search. I can find it by IP address using the Network->Object Finder . It has an IP address, hostname, display name, and "managed by" information in the search results. Supposedly its managed by:
RME
IPM
DFM(listed twice)
However, when I click on the device link , it has almost no tools available (limited to ping) and no device information. I'm hard pressed on how to delete the item withouth having it in Common Services so that I can select it and then click on "delete" . how I can purge this device?
I have a router 2811 and shows high CPU utilization 90%, it is observed that this happens when the traffic increases, the router also has firewall enabled services, QoS, DHCP, ACLs, NAT. As my router could not determine what is appropriate for my use, and how it could choose a router that meets my needs.

I replaced a 1760 router with a new 2901 router and all seems to be working but for some reason the txload on interface g0/0 and interface multilink1 show 255/255 even though there is no traffic going over to this router. I have dual routers at this location and at the moment I have all traffic going over to my other router a 2821.

After upgrading to 7.2 on my 5508 WCS, the 1310 APs will no longer join. After a call to TAC they said the 1300 and 1400 APs are no longer supported on WCS. Is there any plan to add them back as supported in future releases?I was thinking I could downgrade my backup 5508 and change the APs to autonomous. Or is there some easier way to make them autonomous?
Also, as a low cost outdoor AP, I guess I am reduced to putting 1262s in a NEMA box with outdoor antennas. The 1552s are way too expensive for the quantity I need. Is there some other inexpensive outdoor AP that will replace 1300-1400 series?
we just purchased 2 asa 5585-40's and tried to add them to our lms 3.2 system and we were informed by cisco tac that they were not supported in lms 3.2. since we don't having funding for an upgrade, any work around within lms that could allow me to add the devices so i can use lms for syslog and to fetch the firewall configs on a regular basis, instead of having to setup a seperate syslog server and having to tftp the config's everytime i make a change.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a pair of physical ASR 1002 routers, called ASR-1 and ASR-2. I setup HSRP on both ASR-1 and ASR-2 on both g0/0/0 and g0/0/1 interfaces, nothing complicated, just straight forward HSRP.
Now Cisco TAC told me that HSRP is NOT supported between physical ASR routers. WTF!
Furthermore, they told me that HSRP only supported within a single ASR because of multiple routed processors. In other words, you can setup HSRP with a single physical ASR but not with two physical ASR routers.
HSRP can not supported with two physical ASR routers?

My problem with ASR 1006 as i tried to use the feature IRB ( integrated routing and bridging ) but i find that this feature is not supported i assume it may be a problem with IOS version or may be i made he configuration not in the proper way

Can a 2504 wlc use a vlan ids of 190X? I have found that it supports 512 vlans but I have not found any restrictions in the id used.Vlan id 190X is distributed by the isp (they have the ASAs in their central site) so if it is not supported I must prepare a vlan transfer between switches.
