Cisco :: Will AP1252AG-N-K9 Works With WLC 5760

View 1 RepliesI just cannot locate it. Customer purchasing two 5760 WLCs:
1 AIR-CT5760-500-K9
1 AIR-CT5760-HA-K9
I am looking for info on how to configure these 2 WLCs to work together. How do you inform the production WLC that a HA WLC is available to sync with? Do WLCs have to be L-2 adjacent, or will HA operate at L-3? How does this HA setup work? etc.
The ISE compatibility Matrix (June 5, 2013), does have a row for WLC 5760 in its tables.
The WLC 5760 Release Notes says it is compatible with with ISE without specfying which features. Why is the WLC 5760 missing from the ISE Compat Matrix and how can I get specific ISE feature support (ie CoA, DACL).
I am performing a new install of a WLC 5760 and 3602i APs. I have limited experience in setting up WLCs. I am hitting a brick wall in getting the AP to join my WLC. My primary document has been this deployment guide:url...I have also sifted through many of the relevant portions of these guides: url...
I went through the setup wizard and followed the instructions in Ch. 2 to the letter (or at least I think I did). I have DHCP options 43 and 60 configured per the 3600 series Getting Started Guide.I believe my AP discovery process is sound because I see activity when I power on the AP and perform debug capwap ap all from the WLC. I have highlighted lines that I think are relevant. I have attempted to find the answer on my own by searching the Internet for these phrases. [code]
We are looking at possibly adding a second 5508 controller to our network and running in HA mode. I see now that there are 5760's available that run on IOS. Is there any way we can integrate a 5760 into our existing network instead of going with a second 5508? I would prefer to invest in newer hardware whenever possible.

I have three of these AP that quit associating with the controller after a power loss. I have dismounted one of them and it has an Amber light on ethernet LED and Green Light on radio LED and off on status. It does not respond to reset and nothing happen when i console into it. What might have happened to this AP? It's barely two years. I have tried different power injectors and direct power and still behaves the same way.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have an AP located on a German site which is supposed to connect to a WLC which is in Germany as well. Our network however is spread to France as well where another WLC is located. Now, the AP can not be convinced to connect to the German WLC. Despite our efforts (e.g. manuel IP configuration, reset to factory defaults) we don't manage to bring that AP to the German network - this is by the way the only AP, all other approx. 200 work just fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm setting up a VPN in order to share files between two locations. I'm not sure it's the best solution, but he insists on using his Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall via a clientless VPN. His set-up is a simple residential cable modem (Motorola SurfBoard/TimeWarner) set in DMZ mode, the Cisco ASA, and an Ubuntu server.
The Clientless VPN is set up, as are the user groups, and bookmarks. I'm able to browse to the firewall's internal interface IP (https://192.168.1.1) and log in to the Clientless VPN portal, and from there, I can access all of the plug-ins I've configured (CIFS, VNC, etc). The problem is that I cannot connect from outside the local area network.
I think it's something very basic that I'm missing, like a NAT rule. I've tried adding some, but they always seem to interfer with the NAT rule allowing users to connect, via the internet, to the Apache web server (port 80) running on the Ubuntu machine behind the ASA Firewall.
Like I said, I'm not sure this is the best solution for him. Using an ASA seems like overkill for something that can be accomplished with some software, but he and I are both fans of Cisco, and, as I said, he is adament about using this set-up. If it comes down to it, I'd like to be able to honestly tell him that I exhausted every resource in trying to find a way to make this work for him before giving up and going to "Plan B".
I am fairly new to Cisco IOS, yet I've managed to get it up and running on a Cisco 1841 to act as a router and firewall between WAN and LAN. Everything works *except* I am unable to ping or make any other connection from the router itself to the WAN. It will ping or telnet to the LAN, all LAN to WAN traffic is functioning properly, NAT is setup and functioning, WAN to LAN and inbound firewall is working, yet I still cannot ping or telnet from the IOS interface to anything on the WAN side (I've tried using different source addresses)
I am hoping there is something obvious that I overlooked, perhaps IPS is blocking the traffic? Do I need a specific route entry for the local device? I can post entire config if necessary, but would rather not if there is an obvious solution.
We are in the process of upgrading from ACS 4.2 to 5.3. Most things seem to be working but we are having some major issues with the Rancid configuration tool. I can log into devices using CLI login with the credentials that Rancid uses but Rancid fails login.
This worked fine with our 4.2 implementation but not the 5.3. Presumably I need to make a chance in the expect scripts because the new ACS server sends a different string but I have no idea what it is supposed to be.
We have a PBR configured on a 2911 router (15.1-4.M2). The PBR is being used to send specific traffic across a S2S VPN instead of an MPLS connection. If ip cef is enabled, the router sends the traffic across the MPLS. If ip cef is disabled, the traffic goes across the S2S VPN. I checked to see if there were any bugs in the code they are running about this and nothing came up. It almost like CEF enabled PBR isn't working on this device, even though it should be enabled by default when ip cef is turned on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a PIX-525 with an UR license. I was trying to get my VPN to work from my iphone over the weekend but to no avail. I then changed the interface to the inside to see if my iMac could connect and bingo! It worked. I then tried to connect via inside interface with my iphone and it worked.
I connected a PIX-515e and, using the same settings, can connect to the outside interface via my iPhone.
Now, to answer the pressing questions, yes I changed the server IP address in my IPSEC client settings to reflect the outside and inside interfaces as I was testing each one. I was using a preshared secret. Yes, the secret was entered correctly and they all matched...yes, the tunnel name was entered correctly. I was using local user database for authentication with username/password (i.e. no certificate authorization to make things simpler for debugging). I changed the syslog to debugging and I see absolutely no errors when trying to connect my iphone to the outside interface (i.e. turning wifi off so I'm on my 3G data network). The only thing I see is where my iphone hits the outside interface and it does a teardown (or whatever its called) but that's it.
Why would this work like a charm with my PIX-515e and not my PIX-525? Could the VPN accelerator card in the 525 be at fault? The 515e does not have the aecellerator card. why I can esablish a VPN connection on the inside interface but not the outside?

Im asking above question because we will need to enable ip-sla on the mentioned router. as i read on the cisco webside, it says Cisco-ISR-1921/K9-IP Base support only IP-SLA RESPONDER feature nothing else.If Cisco-1921/K9 does not support the above commands , should i go for ordering Cisco-1921-SEC/K9 ?
My provider is Time Warner and I have their Wideband 50 MBs. This requires me to have a Motorola Surfboard router/modem (so no stand alone modem)
1. No applications such as google talk, steam, my ftp client or basically any computer application that requires internet for some of its functions. (all on my desktop PC connected to LAN)
2. The internet would partially work. I could get to some websites but it would often fail to load
3. Other computers are able to connect to the LAN and it work without an issue
I can only connect to the development server when I am logged into the VPN (Cisco VPN)I do most of my work on my desktop, which is running XP sp3. While logged into the vpn there, I can reach the SVN and FTP servers fine, but I cannot connect to the development website to view anything.I also have a laptop that is running windows 7. When I connect to VPN on that, I can connect to the website just fine. It is all from within my house so using the same router / cable modem / internet service. Both have installed the latest Cisco VPN softare, and use the same profile to connect. The differences are, windows 7 vs Windows XP. Windows 7 is running Microsoft Security Essentials and XP is running Comodo.
However, even when I turn off Comodo on XP I still can't connect to the website. (Just FYI, I also have XP as dual boot on the laptop and tried connecting from it but no go). I am getting absolutely no assistance from the company I am working on, so really can't ask them anything, I guess it is something I have to figure out myself. But it is frustrating me. I prefer to work on my desktop and it is set up in with all my development tools etc in a nice environment, where the laptop is noisy and slow and not a preferred work place.
I've got a bit of a query regarding how spanning tree works on L3 switches? So say we have a few 3550's connected together and spanning tree has converged and everything is looking ok. We then introduce routing into the network, does STP still operate in the same way or is this layer 2 feature now redundant because routing has taken over?I just couldn't figure out if STP still operates at layer 2 to prevent loops and routing sits on top to route the traffic?

One is hosted with Embarq and works fine, one with Comcast is not, the 2nd with a local cable provider is also fussy. Whats up based on the debug from the 1841? I'm getting little debug off the peer ASA from ISAKMP or IPSEC. You can carry the ASA's from one site to the next and the problem does not follow the boxes. This was working fine for several months, but now its not, and no.. the config did not change.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm very new to cisco devices but we recently acquired a catalyst 2911 device for our co-lo cabinet and I am trying to get a site-to-site vpn connection working between the facility and my offices network as well as a remote access VPN for me to use in case I have to fix something while outside of the office.
The office's gateway is 66.119.163.2 and the device is a TZ210 with it's LAN network being 192.168.1.0 /24
The co-los gateway is 204.244.50.254 and the device is an ASR 2911 with it's LAN network being 10.0.10.0 /24
The S2S VPN connection is up between the two locations and the 2911 device and the servers within it's LAN can ping and RDP to the office's machines. The office network can only ping the LAN interface IP on the 2911 which is 10.0.10.1 but not the servers in the network. the site-to-site VPN was set up with the CCP wizard.
How can I allow the 192.168.1.0/24 network to see the 10.0.10.1/24 network and why do I only currently see the gateway?
If need be I can post my running-config file with the preshare keys redacted.
