Cisco Wireless :: 1200 DAS Mobile Access 2000 Doesn't Support

Apr 2, 2012

The client currently has DAS solution integrates with cisco ap1200 which has been eos. As per my knowledge DAS mobile access 2000 doesn't support. 802.11n, is this correct? We are planning to separate the dad environment with cisco. Basically positioning new 3600 n indoor AP to replace existing eos 1200. What are the pro and cons of separating two brands and solutions? Other cabling. The client having coverage issue and adding an amplifier and cable loss may add more issues to existing environment.

Also, based on experience 80211n AP are required is higher density vs 1200.What are your thoughts or best design option to separate das from WLAN environment?

Select AT&T and click Load."  Unfortunately, Network selection is not an option.

How do I do it?  This modem is compatible with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks.

Cisco VPN :: ASA 8.4.4.1 Mobile AV Support For Dynamic Access Policies

Sep 12, 2012

We just upgraded to ASA 8.4.4.1 and the latest CSD image, 3.6.6203.  We currently have a DAP set up to scan one group policy for a secific AV but wanted to start implementing this for all group policies and including several different flavors of AV (so anyone could connect from anywhere as long as a pre-approved AV is installed).  We are going to allow about 20 different versions of different AV's and I've tested a couple already and they're successful.

My issue right now is trying to allow (or deny) AV that is installed on an Android tablet (and potentially Apple devices).  The tablet has avast Mobile Security installed, and even if I select Vendor: Alwil as a whole, it still does not recognize it and denies the user.  I have tested on a PC and it works fine.  Is there something that I am missing or are mobile AV programs not included in the DAP policies?  Is this going to be considered for future versions of CSD or ASA or are we going to continue to consider Android and Apple devices "secure" and not in need of an AV?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Nexus 7000 And 2000 FEX Support With VPC

Apr 20, 2012

if vPC is supported between a single 2232PP FEX and two 7000 switches running 6.0(1)? I have been researching this for an implementation I am doing for a client and was able to determine it was not supported with earlier versions of 5.0 when the FEX is connected via vPC as I described above, but I can't find anything related to version 6.0(1). I have done this for other clients with 5000 and 2000 switches, but I don't have too much experience with 7000 switches.

Cisco Wireless :: IPad2 And 1200 AP - Can't Access SSID

Oct 19, 2011

I've got an iPad2, which works without issue at home (1130 AP/ASA5505), but at my office, we have a 1200 series AP.  It's hit and miss, but other people who bring iPads in have noticed the same issue--our internal SSID is non-broadcast.  Even though the SSID is previously configured and works on occassion, there are times where it won't even see the SSID at all to connect.

This happens with iPad and iPad2, iOS4 and iOS5...

LIke i said, works fine on my non-broadcast SSID at my home on an 1130 AP...

Lately, new 1131 APs that have undergone the same process, are not joining the controller. They are discovered but then the close the connection. D-Link DIR-655 :: Router Doesn't Support Network

Jan 19, 2011

I have decided to buy a new wireless N enabled wireless router after my house was cleaned out by some robbers. After a long investigation I decided on the D-link DIR 655 as it suited my basic needs the best and since I haven't decided on a broadband supplier yet this should sort any and all possibilities no matter what I choose...

After an equal amount of investigation I decided on a HSPA+ USB dongle only to find that the router does not support the network I have purchased it on. It thenalso seems that it doesn't support the E1820 Huawei dongle either... so fine... I go and buy a Huawei D105 tht should technically be able to connect via the WAN port and would act as an internet gateway. Brilliant.

Now I have tried everything.... static IP on the D105 with a static IP setup on the 655. Connects fine... according to the web interface but NO INTERNET. When I connect my laptop directly to the 105 via CAT5 it works beautifully. DHCP on the D105 with the same on the 655. Connecting... Establishing Link (Please Wait...) FOREVER without ever getting an IP on the 655 (according to the web interface again) ... must be the D105 thats faulty so again plug in the laptop and within milliseconds the IP is assigned and Internet is blazing along again.... The D105 is not Wireless N so I cannot use it as my primary AP and only allows 5 simultaneous wireless connections (that is reserved for my cellphones). Why should I anyway?? the DIR655 should work fine....

Even after having taken it to D-link support at huge cost and effort I still don't have a working rig.... Seems the consultant plugged the D105 straight into the LAN on the 655 and then set his laptop to the same static range to get it to work... SURPRISE - I know that works since plugging the laptop straight into the 105 does the same thing.... But this is not what I want... I want my 655 to be the primary DHCP server for my network and control the allowed workstations that are allowed access to the internet with a working gateway. Bridging is apparently also not an option as that option has been removed so I cannot even bridge my main subnet onto the D105's internet sbnet... What am I to do....

If the 655 3G setup supported more than 2 dongles I might hve been able to use that and not spend anouther R600 on the D105, if the WAN port actually worked in either static or DHCP modes with the D105 that also would have solved the problem and lastly if all else fails and there was still bridging I could hack my own setup together to do what I want. Seems like I was wrong in selecting the D-link product.

Then to make matters worse I find another product with double the features online for half the price that integrates the 3G capability into the route and support more than 2 different models. including all the new Huawei dongles....

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 4507 Extreme Networks Black Diamond Switch That Doesn't Support STP

Jun 28, 2012

We have a customer that has a fiber rum between 2 building. They want to have 2 seperate fibers active that terminate into the same switch on each end. (redundancy).

In building A they have an extreme networks black diamond switch that does not support STP.In bulding B they have a Cisco 4507.

We will ahve to use a layer 3 routed connection due to the fact their switch in building A does not support STP.Our tech does not want to use static route becuase he does not want to setup IP SLA for the redundant connection.

Will RIPv2 work for this scenario and failover to the other fiber if needed? The hop count is the same for each fiber path..

Cisco VPN :: ASA5540 Access Using Mobile Device

Nov 7, 2012

My client has a PC that can use a SIM card to gain access to the internet.  They have an ASA5540 and are running IPsec VPN.

When accessing the VPN while the PC connects to the internet via use of the SIM card, he connects successfully to the VPN but is unable to access anything on the internal network.  If he connects to the internet using wireless or wired, he connects successfully to the VPN and is able to access everything on the internal network.

Is this a limitation of the Cisco VPN Client?  Perhaps something missing in the configuration?  Or do they still require the mobility license (though I thought that was only for AnyConnect)?

Cisco Wireless :: 2x 1200 AP Directly On 2106 WLC?

Jun 9, 2012

I got my final assignment from school, and my teacher asked me to configure 2 Access Points (1200 series) directly on a Wireless Controler (Cisco 2106). I can't ask my teacher for any questions, cause he doesn't know how to configure it also, THAT's why he's asking me to do it.I've learned a lot of things about the default static interfaces (the "management" and "ap_manager" interface), but i can't seem to fully understand how to configure it.I want to use the Internal DHCP server of the WLC. How I can get those 2 Access Points working on the WLC. I only seem to get DHCP issues.

This is what i've done:

- Leave the configuration of the "management" and the "ap_manager" default (172.16.1.30 and 172.16.1.30). Bound to port 1

- Made a new interface "AP1" with IP-Address 10.0.0.10 (/24), default gateway 10.0.0.1. Primary DHCP server: 172.167.1.30

- Made a new interface "AP2" with IP-Address 192.168.1.10 (/24), default gateway 192.168.1.1. Primary DHCP server: 172.167.1.30

- Made 2 DHCP scopes within the 192.168.1.0 and 10.0.0.0 networks.

For some reason, when i boot up both AP's, the won't get any DHCP address.
