Cisco Wireless :: AIR-BR1310G-E-K9 Bridged Usage

Sep 19, 2012

Is it possible to build two separate bridged connections from one "base"?

I'd need to connect to two other buildings which luckily happen to be quite on the same direction (antennawise). how to configure this into the devices I call "base", "building1" and "building2". The first building is about 50 meters and the other about 120 meters away. 11Mbps would be adequate for both. A some kind of encryption would be needed.

Cisco Wireless :: Flash Image For Air BR1310G-A

Dec 22, 2012

I purchased a used AIR BR1310G-A--K9-R from a local high school that was rebuilding their athletic field.  The AP was used for communications for their pressbox staff.  The AIR BR1310G was part of the schools campus wide WiFi network and was upgraded to an lwapp image c1310-k9w8-m 12.4 3c JA.  Our home sits on a large lot and I would like to convert the BR1310G back to an autonomous AP.

In order convert it back to an automonous AP, I will need the original image.  The school used a contractor for their WiFi network and they do not have a backup of the original image.  I do not have a service account with Cisco so downloading the autonomous image from the Cisco website is out.  What are my options for either obtaining an image file or using the current managed image without a WLC?

When Check Internet Usage Log On Wireless Company The Usage Is Totally Off?

Apr 3, 2013

however recently when i check my internet usage log on my wireless company (Rogers) the usage is totally off from what my bandwidth tracker shows me. So i decide to turn off my wifi and see what happens, there has always been this weird wifi connection appearing whenever my wifi appears, then afterwards when i turn off my wifi the suspicious wifi connections disappear. is this possible that someone is using our wifi? i might just be overreacting but it has brought me to concern that if the usage continues my family will have to end up paying over $30 for extra internet use. it is very frustrating me because when i check my DHCP client table it only shows 3 connection, ethernet - my desktop which is not turned on, 2 wireless connection - my laptop and my sister's laptop.

Cisco Wireless :: WET610N Bridged To WRVS4400N?

I am have a lot of difficulty getting my WET610N to connect to my WRVS4400N.  I have tried almost everything.  I have some older PC's, as well as my PS3, that we use to use on the network and they only connect B/G.  I have tried auto DHCP and static IP on the bridge.  It seems that the only way that the bridge works is by using the WPS function that the business class routers do not have.

Cisco Wireless :: Replace 352 Bridged Network With 1552s?

Mar 20, 2012

I have a question concerning replacing a 352 bridged network with 1552 mesh access points. Theoretically, imagine a centralized 352 with an omnidirectional antenna that is linked to multiple 352's with yagi antennas in a hub-spoke fashion. If this central 352 is replaced with a 1552 access point, will the existing Yagi's be able to talk to the 1552? I understand that the Yagi's AP's should be replaced with 1552's as well (thus forming a mesh network as the 1552s are designed to do) but for the sake of theory please assume the 'spoke' 352s will not be replaced. I have the understanding that the 1552s communicate over the 802.11a for the backhaul so I'm thinking this would cause some issues with the 352's.

Wireless N Router (DIR-655) / Can't See Media Server In Bridged Network

Aug 9, 2011

I have a wireless N router (DIR-655) in bridge mode connected to a TWC combo modem/wireless G router. I have Tversity media server running on a computer connected to the TWC, but my PS3 which is connected wirelessly to the TWC combo can't see Tversity. What am I missing? Do I need to forward some port from somewhere? FYI, I'm set-up this way so my N router can deliver full N speed, and my G devices connect to the slower TWC router. Everything sees the internet with no problem. Also, to note that devices connected to the D-link can see Tversity, but devices connected to the TWC cannot see Tversity

Linksys Wireless Router :: Guest Access Breaks If E1200 Set Up As Bridged Wireless

Sep 23, 2012

I want to set up an E1200 as a wireless access point for guests, and ordinarily I'd be happy to connect it LAN-to-WAN and have it create its own subnet, but I need to connect one office PC to it also because connecting the E1200 to the main gateway displaces that office PC from the last Ethernet port on the main router.

So I disabled DHCP on the E1200 and connected it LAN-to-LAN.  The modem is at a fixed, non-configurable address of 192.168.0.1/255.255.0.0 and the main router is at 10.0.0.1/255.255.255.0.   I set the E1200 to a static IP of 10.0.0.12/255.255.255.0.The E1200's primary wireless connection works fine.  The guest access connects, but it does not prompt for a password and web pages generate a "failed to load" sort of message.I temporarily connected the E1200 as the main router and re-enabled DHCP, though I kept the static IP of 10.0.0.12/255.255.255.0, and in this configuration the guest access worked.  I observed that it connected via 192.168.33.1/guestaccess.cgi (or something very similar to that).

Xbox 360 Unable To Obtain IP Address From Bridged Wireless Modem Through Ethernet

I'm trying to connect my Xbox 360 to Live by bridging my computer's wireless connection. I've done this before for a friend in a different city and it worked fine, and I felt very proud of myself for doing so. However when I try to connect here, the modem won't assign my Xbox an IP address. I've been into ipconfig/all and tried to manually assign the same IP address to the Xbox but to no avail. Same deal with the alternate MAC address option.

To speed things along here's the readout from my ipconfig/all:

Linksys Wireless Router :: Vigor 120 Bridged With EA4500 Extremely Slow Connection

Feb 1, 2013

I've set up PPPoE on my EA4500 router with a Vigor 120 modem in bridged mode and it says an internet connection is established, but the connection is extremely slow on all my devices. When I run the speed test within the EA4500 firmware it appears fine, but I cannot load any web pages on my laptop or other decives because the connection is so slow. The connection is slow with both wired and wireless connections. I've tried changing the MTU settings with no success. I've also tried using a different router and connecting the modem directly to my laptop and using PPPoE within the laptop and these both work fine, so I think it's clear there is a problem with the EA4500 router itself.

I'm just using the Vigor 120 to authenticate and connect to the internet itself, with the router in DHCP automatic configuration mode. I think this is causing a double NAT.

Cisco WAN :: 867 Half-bridged Mode?

Apr 18, 2011

I'm a Cisco newbie and I'm in the following situation:

1>The router (867) must connect to my ISP in 1483 bridged (2684 bridged) mode, LLC, VPI/VCI 0/35
2>WAN IP will be assigned by ISP (DHCP)
3>No username and password required to establish the connection
4>MAC-Cloning is advised, not required
5>Firewall behind 867, WAN IP should be assigned to WAN interface firewall, connection established by 867
6>867 router will be used as a switch, so no NAT required. NAT will be setup on the firewall
7>Connection type: Analog (annex A)

The required setup can be fixed by configuring the 867 in half-bridged mode, but I don't no how and I don't know exactly how to config the 867 in bridged mode.

First, it's even hard to setup a good bridged config.

Cisco Routers :: Configuring RV220w With Bridged Modem?

Mar 8, 2012

I'm having trouble getting my RV220W router to work with a DSL modem.  I pre-configured the device and shipped it to one of our store locations.  I came to find out that the site had an "Advanced" modem (according to the carrier) and I had to have them "bridge" the modem.  Prior to having the modem "bridged" I was able to have the user plug the RV220W into the modem, and the computer that was hard-wired to the router was pulling the correct set of IP addresses, however, my VPN tunnel was not working because the WAN address that the RV220W was receiving was 192.168.2.12 instead of the staticly assigned IP address from the ISP  After bridging the modem, the user is able to access the RV220W but he does not have internet connectivity.  According to the carrier, this is because we need to enter their PPOE username and password into the RV220W.  My only problem is that my on-site person is not very technical, and although I have access to one of our other sites with a working RV220W I'm not able to find where I enter this PPPOE information into the device.  get this thing setup so that the customer is able to get connected to the internet, and that my RV220W is pulling the correct staticly assigned IP address from the ISP?

Cisco Routers :: RV120 Bridged With DSL Modem / Router?

Oct 15, 2012

I am working overseas for a small company, trying to get an RV120 VPN router to connect to our network back home. Part of the problem is that I have to use a DSL modem here which is also a router, and so the WAN IP given to the modem is not the same one used by the VPN router.

Do we need to create a bridge between the two routers so that the VPN router can use the WAN IP from the ISP instead of a DHCP address on the local network? Or is this the wrong approach?

Cisco :: 5508 Virtual Machines With Bridged Connection / No IP From DHCP?

May 31, 2011

We are experimenting with virtual machines running on some laptops here as part of a future deployment.Equipment in use:

-5508 WLC
-1262 LWAP

The actual operating system has no issues connecting to the wireless. When you start the virtual machine on any client machine (OSX, Win 7, Win XP, anything) it is unable to get an IP through an external DHCP server when the VM is set up to use a bridged connection. This works fine with Autonomous access points and over cable all mapped to the same VLAN. Helper addresses are configured on the VLAN.Is this a limitation of the WLC where it cannot provide more than one IP address per MAC? Is it a limitation of CAPWAP? Or is there an option to turn of DHCP snooping (which I suspect to be the cause of the issue)?
