I am about to configure a brand new AIR-WLC2106-K9 V05 and didn't manage to find what is the deafult IP address configured on the device. I need it so I could start Web GUI management session.
View 4 RepliesI've just bought an AIR-WLC2106-K9 and 3 x AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 and I'm having a problem getting the AP's configured.
Firstly, the controller did not discover the device when it was on the same sub net, I had to plug it straight in which is no good for wireless-n due to the 100Mbps port speed on the controller. Secondly, when I am editing the AP through the controller webpage, none of the details are saved after applying changes (static IP etc).
I followed the Cisco quick start guide for the controller to get the basic config, radius server details etc in. It is running software version: 4.2.61.0
I am trying to get a controller to work on my network. output from the switch arp table.

The switch see's it but i can not ping or access it via web or telnet.
we have the WLC and 2 x Aironet AP's that is powers over PoE. The other day is was reloaded and since then the AP points are Blinking Red, according the the Aironet manaul this means some sort of boot error? They are also not appearing on the WLC from the GUI or CLI running a show ap summary. Interesting though I can see them via CDP, however they are not picking up IP's as they are listed as 0.0.0.0. After checking with colleagues I was told these were set statically.
Is it possible that the points not having IP addresses is a sign of a corrupt boot environent? I would have though they would not have appeared in CDP if they were corrupt?
I did not set this up in the first place so a little puzzled at the moment? Nothing has changed on the config bar using a different NTP server on the network?
I have a WLC2106 and AP3502i. The issue that I am having is the radio for 5GHz is not showing up in "Wireless > 802.11a/n" (see attached screenshot) I am not exactly sure what was the problem. When I went to 802.11b/g/n I do see an entry for 2.4Ghz radio, but nothing on 5GHz.
I have the AP plugged directly to my 3550POE, and when I used the command "show power inline" it says that the switch is providing 15.4W and there is still 345W remaining on the switch. The LED on the AP is solid green. I issued a no shutdown on dot11radio1 and the status is up/up, but there is still no entry under "Wireless > 802.11a/n"

These are only occuring for clients that are disconnecting....
They can reconnect after a WLC reboot....
We have swapped APs.....
I have seen this error in other forums but it says not to worry about it. There has to be a connection between this and clients getting disconnected. We have anywhere between 10-50 clients on the system at any one time.Is this a client issue (nic firmware, version) or is this an error in the controller??

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have bought EA4500 router recently in preparations for the Singapore fibre broadband upgrade.
But for the time being I'm using it to connect to my current Linksys WAG200G ADSL Wireless Gateway.
Here's the issue I'm currently facing. I have set my EA4500 router default IP address to 192.168.1.10 to aviod conflicts with my gateway which is using 192.168.1.1. But everytime when I connect my router to the gateway, the router's default IP address changes to 10.179.159.126 or some other random IP address by itself whenever I try to change to back. However, I'm still able to surf the internet and stuffs with that current settings.
Is there something that I could do to prevent the IP address from changing by itself? And will the same thing happen again when I upgrade to fibre broadband?
I get the following error whne enabling 802.11a network on a AIR-WLC2106-K9. Country is set to ID (Indonesia),>config 802.11a enable network802.11a network not supported for this Country CodeYet, on a AIR-CT2504-K9, set to same country code there is no problem. Is this a WLC model or version issue? WLC2106 is on version 6.0.199.4 while the CT2504 is 7.0.220.0

I have never dealt with these before. View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen the ethernet cable is plugged directly into my laptop i can input my user name and password and connect directly without a problem. But as soon as i plug the cable into the router, the activity lights turn off like its not plugged in on the other end...which it is. So when going through the setup process, both using the cd and inputting the information on the web based setup. It does nothing, the automatic setup says the cable isnt plugged in. When using the browser setup i can click connect as many times as i want and it does nothing but say disconnected.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 64-bit with the very latest AE1000 driver (3.0.10.0). I have a Netgear WNDR3700 with dual band support. I replaced a D-Link DWA-556 PCIe 2.4 GHz card with this USB unit because I was seeing interference with my keyboard and mouse (Logitech Bluetooth). When the AE1000 works, I can consistently connect at 300 Mbps and the speed is great.Unfortunately, every so often, the connection to the internet drops and Windows 7 must do a wireless adapter reset in order to regain access to my network. During this time no other machines connected on the wireless network report any disruption and neither the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WiFi profiles are connectable with the AE1000.I've tried switching from the built-in USB 2.0 ports on my motherboard to the USB 3.0 daughtercard to no avail. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. However, I started seeing this issue literally the day I installed this thing. The problem happens sometimes a few instances in an hour but then won't happen again for another few hours.In Event Viewer, I'm pretty consistently seeing:The TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service was successfully sent a stop control. View 9 Replies View RelatedI saw some other mentions online of intermittent internet connectivity using the factory-installed Intel Centrino wireless-N 1030 card on various new Dell computers running Windows 7, but didn't see any resolution to the problem.
I can connect directly to my router via an ethernet cord, but trying to use the wireless card gives me intermittent connectivity. I will pretty quickly lose the ability to load a new page if I'm browsing with IE or Firefox, and can regain it (temporarily) by disconnecting/reconnecting or letting the wireless manager troubleshoot, during which it resets the wireless adaptor. Doing a continuous ping of my router gives me anywhere from 30-70% data loss and lengthy round trips (I am currently one foot away from the router). Other (ancient!) computers work fine on my router; I have updated the router's firmware/reset it many times, etc). I didn't specifically go download a new driver for the wireless card, but going into its properties and having it search for an updated driver results in it reporting it already has the most up-to-date driver.
I spent a lot of late nights talking to Dell support, and their eventual fix (after a complete reinstall from the factory setting partition) was to set up my home network as a WEP, which I'm not happy with due to it's poor security compared to WPA2/WPA. This appeared to resolve the connectivity issue (why??). But I feel like I should be able to use WPA2 security with a brand-new laptop. So I changed it back to WPA2/WPA and tried installing all the critical updates that Windows Update could find, including SP1, and then looked at some continuous pings of various webpages and of my router itself.
Then I noticed my ping round trip time was awesome and they were 100% successful while my computer was plugged in with the power cord, but this unfailingly changed to reporting unsuccessful pings and having 1000ms round trips as soon as I disconnect the power. Seems like the on-battery power settings are starving the wireless card?
Also, I'm sure my initial intermittent connectivity (before the complete OS reinstall) was still occurring while plugged in with the power cord, so I'm not sure if the reinstall fixed some aspect of the problem, or whether the appearance of success while plugged in now is just temporary. Perhaps my card is just bad and I need a new one? I'm using the factory default power settings and the factory-installed wireless card (and I couldn't choose a different wireless card when I built my laptop)
I have a brand new E4200 constantly losing internet connection (both wireless and wired). I have a ADSL connection to the internet, last router I had did not have the same issue. I also have a Cisco ASA 5505 for work connected to the ADSL modem and is not experiencing any disconnect issues. All computers connected to the router is losing internet connection, local lan keeps working. The internet connection gets back again after a 10-15 minutes or when resetting / turning off the router.
I have tried the following;
Changed ethernet cables
Disconnected the ASA 5505
Turned off wireless
Upgraded the firmware
Reseted to factory settings

We have around 15 users who are using that server as file server only. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get Airprint to work in our network. Topology is a 255.255.255.254.x network that has mostly wired with wireless all under the same subnet. Airprint will not discover printers if on the WLC2106 WiFi network but if the iPad or iPhone is connected to some small Linksys WiFi router, it works.
What should be enabled or disabled on the WLC2106 to get Airprint to work?
hrome threw me a DNS lookup failed. I go into my network settings and I noticed that I had limited connectivity. It would switch between no network access and no internet access every few seconds. After a bit of fiddling around, I got it to connect through assigning myself a static IP. This isn't exactly convenient because I use this computer on multiple networks. When I try to have it on automatic IP, I get no IP address or default gateway when I do an ipconfig /all. It would appear that my router quit assigning my laptop an IP for no reason whatsoever. DHCP is enabled on the router, and all other devices work fine. What could possibly be the problem here? I'm 99% sure it's not an IP conflict either. It's not being MAC filtered because I'm on the thing right now posting this through a static IP. It's not my A/V because it's worked great in the past. Perhaps I should also mention it occasionally says "unidentified network" instead of the SSID

I have a Cisco SG200-08p that's acting up. After setting up 2 larger 200 series switches I pulled this out for its config. I changed the default password and assigned the new static IP address of 192.168.0.103, that's it. The settings applied and worked normally but after rebooting the switch it reverted itself back to the default ip of 192.168.1.254, it retained the new password. After this happened a few times I upgraded the firmware to the latest version, reset the device to factory settings and applied the new address again to have the same problem. It doesn't matter if I reboot the switch in the management interface or physically. Is there a problem with having a zero in the third octet (that would be lame)?
