View 24 RepliesJust recently got a new 881W router. i have downloaded the 2.4 software upgrade. I go into the Office extend AP login and i get just a enter button. when i click on the enter button the AP page does not come up.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have finally got my office extend AP to connect to my companies 5508 controller by enabling NAT on the management interface and can see all the cooperate SSID's. However when I try to connect to the SSID my client either gets a local IP address from my home router or then cannot get any IP address.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with internal and external clients. When we have the nat ip configured on the controller we cannot connect internal ap's at all. When we take the nat ip out it works fine. We are on code 7.0.220. I have tried the following command <config network ap-discovery nat-ip-only disable> and it did nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an 1131ag AP attached to our 5508 as an OEAP over the Internet. Everything with the corporate SSIDs is working correctly, so no issue there. I was wondering if a local ssid can be configured on the AP, similar to what can be done with the OEAP600, in order to provide wireless access to the Internet only? On the WLC, on the H_REAP tab, there is a button labeled "Reset Personal SSID"
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am setting up office extend with 1142 APs on a 5508 controller. All seems ok and I see my SSIDs on the remote AP. However when I try to connect I don't get a dhcp address and the connection fails. When I look at logs and some debugs I see dtls keepalive failures and the AP is actually disconnecting and re-associating with the controller.
View 24 Replies View RelatedIf we have a mixed environment of 4400 and 5500 controllers will the office extend features still work or will we have to run a seperate wireless domain from the 5508 for the aps that we need office extend on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a situation where a user needs more than one office extend AP in his home. My office extend controller is a 5508 running 7.0.220.0. Are there any issues NATing multiple OE APs to a single address? My initial lab results indicate that each of the AP's associate with the controller and establish a DTLS tunnel. I see the SSIDs get pushed to the AP and then it seems to restart the process never being fully operational. Is there a workaround that will allow me to run mutliple OE APs?
View 12 Replies View RelatedWe're looking at deploying both office extend and also a guest wlan. Both would require a WLC in the DMZ.My question is can one 5508 WLC be both a guest anchor and have office extend APs on it at the same time?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow the ACL Ports/Protocols which must be opened (in- and outbound) to enable a communication between a CISCO Office extend AP and a 5508 WCS.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have attached a diagram of the current topology. At present, we have two 5508 connected to our core. We also have a 4402 behind the firewall (DMZ) just purely for guest access. So the staff users connect to the access point which in turns connects to the Staff WLC 1 (if this fails then to Staff WLC2). any guest user connect to the access point which in turn connects to Staff WLC which anchors to Guest WLC which then provides access. Since the guest is behind the DMZ they can only access the internet and not out internal network.
Now we want to office extend our network - we want our users to use 1132 AP at home to access the Infrastructure. is there a way we can do this without disturbing the existing infrastructure. On reading Cisco website, i know the best practice is to use 2 5508 (one behind the firewall and the other anchored to this access the internet network ) i thought since we have a Cisco (dmz) switch (48 port) and only the 4402 (Guest WLC) is connected to it, maybe purchase another 5508 WLC and connect to the 48 port Cisco (dmz) switch. will this work?
I noticed that the 3600 access point series will get an add-on module to support 802.11ac. This standard will support more than 1 GBit/s.But the 3600 series still do only have got one GBit port. Any extended information about 802.11ac in the upcoming Cisco portfolio?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on my CCENT after getting my A+. I have an old 3600 router and I am following CBT Nuggets to configure it. CBT Nuggets seems to have an IOS that supports VLAN and IP Addresses and it looks like mine only goes up to Token Ring so it doesn't mirror the instruction. I know it's an old router but is there a software release (like the 12.4 maybe?) that would allow me to follow the CBT Nuggets more accurately so that I can set the switch up for IP Addresses and VLAN instead of limiting me to token ring?

will the ezvpn fall back to the primary vpn server , if primary back on line, on ASA? The Reactivate Primary Peer feature allows a default primary peer to be defined. The default primary peer (a server) is one that is considered better than other peers for reasons such as lower cost, shorter distance, or more bandwidth. With this feature configured, if Easy VPN fails over during Phase 1 SA negotiations from the primary peer to the next peer in its backup list, and if the primary peer is again available, the connections with the backup peer are torn down and the connection is again made with the primary peer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a few Cisco Aironet 3602i. The minimum WLC version to support these is 7.1.91.0. I am planning to upgrade to 7.2.103.0. The minimum WCS version to support these WAP is 7.0.220.0 and the next available 7.0.230.0. Checking the release notes for both of these WCS versions, there is no mention of support for WLC versions listed above.

Am I missing something here ? What versions would be required on WCS and WLC to make all the three entities (WLC, WCS, WAP) inter-operable ?
Can you use a Cisco 3600 to do a P2P bridge? Using the MAP's ethernet port to connect to a remote LAN? On that remote LAN can you have lightweight APs that connect to a controller on the RAP side?
View 13 Replies View RelatedThis is one I am having a hard time finding an answer for. How many clients can a 3600 AP support? For 150 clients on one of these, what would the throughput be for each client?
If my calculations are correct, the device can deliver 420 Mbps, which gives each client roughly 2.8Mbps. Is this correct?
if the mounting bracket for 3600 AP is the same as the 3500/1140/1040 mounting bracket? I'm suspecting it's not as you can get modules that fit onto the back of the 3600 APs.

It times outs on TFTP server when you hold the mode button (a 3500 is working fine doing the same thing).
I try the old school way of archive download-sw but it isn't fast enough before it re-dhcp's because it can't find a controller. "*Mar 1 01:17:51.123: %CAPWAP-3-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC using DHCP IP. Renewing DHCP IP..' Even if I set a static IP address.
Is there way to disable the join process while I upgrade the software? I guess fire up a controller for it to join. I hope I don't have to have a controller to convert these.
I have an AP group on a Cisco 5508 WLAN controller. Currently, it is populated with 13 Cisco 1142 lightweight access points. When I try to add a Cisco 3602i access point to the group, I get the following error in NCS: Error: OfficeExtend requires primary, secondary, or tertiary controller management IP to be set.I am using DNS to allow my AP's to find the controller and they work just fine. Is there a reason I can't add the 3600 series AP's to the AP group?

before doing that I'd like to know if I will loose my configuration on the controller i'm concerned about that because the release document is not clear:
- We highly recommend that you back up your controller's configuration files prior to upgrading the controller software. Otherwise, you must manually reconfigure the controller.
- For busy networks, controllers on high utilization, or small controller platforms it is advisable to disable the 802.11a/b/g networks as a precautionary measure.
- Step 5 Disable any WLANs on the controller.
- Step 19 Re-enable the WLANs......
- Step 22 If desired, reload your latest configuration file to the controller. (reload config after reenabling wlans?another controller another question .....: a cisco wlc 2100

I´m trying to test anntenas in a AIR-CAP3062E-A-K9 the problem is that when I´m below the AP the speed is weak, the AP es with a WLC, so I was wondering if do you know a command or a form to test the anntenas or the Radio.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 5508 controller with a bunch of 3600 Series APs. I did all the basic config on the controller and added all the APs through distribution port #1. Now I was trying to config a second interface ( port #2) and use it for the Guest SSID on a separate VLAN. After I rebooted the controller, it dumped all the APs. I would like to know if this is normal, If I need to enroll the APs everytime I reboot the controller.

The following image was downloaded: ap3g2-k9w7-tar.152-2.JA
The release notes say: Site-Survey Only Mode for 3600, 3500, and 1550 Access Points You can install Cisco IOS Release 15.2(2)JA on Cisco Aironet 3600 and 3500 Series access points and on 1550 series outdoor access points to perform site surveys. This release runs on these access points with limited functionality. You can manually adjust these settings on the site-survey access points:
• Channel on each radio
• Transmit power on each radio
• Enable and disable the radios
• Manually set basic and supported transmit rates
• Enable advertised cell power in beacons to client to enable DTPC for doing active surveys
• Enable and disable SSID broadcast in beacons
• Enable open authentication
My Question is: Where can i find a instruction for downgrading an AIR-CAP3602i to Autonomous 3600 AP? Is it complicate to get the AP running, or what do i need for "downgrading"?
I want to use the flexconnect in the same network where the wlc is located. Normally we will do it for over WAN and branch office. But I want to use in the same main office to avoid more bandwidth utilization on my distribution layer. Wlc is connected on Distribution switch.I want to do local switching in the access layer switch.
The below is the sample topology. But real topology contains nearly 200 AP's(3600 series) and 20 access switches and so on.....So there is a chance of 200 AP * 350 Mbps can flow on the distribution layer. So ,
1)If I use flexconnect any issues will be occuring?
2)Does it cause any impact on VOWLAN?
I am trying to build a bridge between two of my access points. Both the access points connected to the wireless controller. I have changed the AP mode to "Bridge" after changing the power to custom.
The access points have both rebooted - but never "joined" the controller again. I have checked on the following pdf.

One thing I can see - if I run a ping to the last IP.. every now and again I get a single response then it drops again. Via the console on the access point I can see it's getting to the controller, getting its name then reading something that caught my eye
