Before I purchased the E3200 yesterday, I contacted Cisco Sales support and asked specific question about SNMP support on E3200. I was told that E3200 does supports SNMP.. However, I do not find any setup / nor any documentation on how to. Does E3200 supports SNMP? I would like to monitor my router using SNMP traps.
View 4 RepliesHouse has 2 floors. I want to install 2 E3200, one on each floor, but both with the same SSID/Password, etc. so internet connection/streaming throughout the floor is seamless.
Both floors have network wall sockets ready and they all lead to the same modem/router so all devices plugged lead to the same network.
PS. both E3200 have been update to Firmware Version: 1.0.03
SSID is not being broadcast from an e3200. I split the wireless networks and assigned a new name for the 5Ghz band. The broadcast SSID button is enabled for both networks. (2.4 & 5). The idea is I want to stream video on the 5Ghz band. Nothing seems to see it though, TV other PCs, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI changed the 5 GHZ SSID name using Cisco connect on my E3200 router as was expecting to see 2 available wireless networks on my laptop, but it seems that only the 2.4 GHZ is still broadcasting as it was before. When I connect to it with my laptop it shows it connecting with 802.11n, so I would think that my laptop would see the 5 GHz SSID if it was broadcasting. I am trying to take advantage of the dual band feature and connect the 5 GHZ to my blue ray player for real time video streaming.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently, I bought the E3200, and tried to configure its ports for gaming. Yet, whenever I would hit save settings, it would say my settings were saved, then return me to the settings page. But the settings would be blank. I tried downloading firmware from the website (which should say September 28), yet it still says I am running the firmware from September 1st, even after I applied the upgrade and followed through with the 50 second reboot process.
So, I guess my final question for any tech savvy person out there is "What is wrong with my router/firmware?" I am running the browser config in the most recent Firefox on the same MacBook I used to install the router, and haven't changed any settings other than the SSID and password.
I have a dwa-556 adapter and dir-655 hub or router. I've read up on the 2.4 and 5 Ghz settings and decided to give it a try. Setting MODE to 11n(5 Ghz) g and d the Device Mgr resets the Network Adapter and I then check my Manage Network to find that the Wireless Adapter is now gone. Both d-link pieces of equipment support 5 Ghz. xmit.

I am an IT professional that is installing my first extended range wireless AP in my companies warehouse. I am very excited!
Now I have set up many a linksys and repeater wireless networks, so when I was looking into the Aironet 1240AG I thought ?No Problem!?
And at first, it is not!
I have the AP and antenna set up here in my office before I take it out and mount it in the warehouse. And I can get connected to it, no security for now, no filters, I just want to connect and make it work.
I stay connected for maybe 3 minutes, I can get to the internet, I can ping all my servers. Full connectivity. But then for no reason the connection fails and I cannot reconnect.
The error I get in the log is
Interface Dot11Radio0, Deauthenticating Station 0006.2510.bbe3 Reason: Previous authentication no longer valid
So strange! So I have reset the AP to factory defaults and then set the SSID, and I can connect, again for a second, then nothing.
I have tried with multiple wireless cards, even laptops. Thinking maybe the problem was on the computer side.
I have a problem with current (1.0.06) firmware on WRT120N. Few hours after restart DHCP server stops assigning IP addresses. Another restart resolves problem, but only for next few hours.Computers and other devices "see" my wireless network and they are able to connect to it, but the process stops at requesting IP number.There was no such effect with original firmware (although there was another problem with 2200BG), so I want to downgrade.where can I find previous versions of WRT120N firmware?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using a WUSB600N wireless adapter with my WRT610N router for quite some time and it has been very stable for quite some time. A few months ago, I switched to a new computer, basically the same model (both computers ran Win7 64bit) except with more hard drive space and two extra cores. I then moved the old computer to the router for a direct connection, moved the new computer in the same exact place as the previous computer, and set up the WUSB600N on the new one. However, on the new computer, my connection has been extremely unstable. Sometimes the connection works fine, but other times there are long periods of no connection (though the computer tells me that I'm connected) and download speeds are horrid during this time period. What is causing the instability after only getting an upgrade to the previous computer?

I did the firmware update on the E4200 router about 2 weeks ago so my son could use his xbox when he got home after 4 months of being away. Everything seemed to work OK as far as I could tell....but when he went to sign into xbox live and watch Netflix, it will load to 98% and stop. A friend of his came over with the new Slim xbox 360 with built in wireless and it will connect fine on its own, if we hook up one of the 610N's to it, it will load to 98% on Netflix and stop again with error code R8152. Both of my older xbox's will hook up and play on xbox live, just not work with Netflix.
I also noticed, it shows the WET610N as a hard wire on xbox and will not search for any wireless networks, I have 2. The newer Slim xbox360 will search out both networks on its own if you allow it to use its internal wireless. This only happened since the firmware update. And this equipment was working fine before this. Is there a way I can restore the previous version of firmware?
I've run into this before, but I can't figure it out this time. Running Windows XP SP3 on a Dell Vostro 1510 notebook with a Linksys WRT54G router wireless. Using Dells Network Assistant for management, so I cannot get to Windows wireless connection management directly.I have a connection to the internet with a Security Key. When I bring up a browser (Firefox or IE) I cannot resolve to a web site. There is a Cisco login screen that is forced. It's from a previous wireless connection on a different network at a different location.

Unfortunately this combination does not work anymore. I don't get an internet connection on my WRT610N anymore. I therefore have to connect all computers (LAN and WIFI) to this EPC3925. Especially for the WIFI I'm not fully happy. My IPAD2 sometimes does not want to connect, a problem which never occurred when connecting to WRT610N.
I probably need to change a setting, but where? In the EPC3925 or in WRT610N?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy download speed has decreased to about 1/40th of its previous speed, while my upload speed remains the same. Speedtest shows that my connection is equally strong as it was prior to the slowdown, even though I can't even get anything close to my original speed.Fully detailed version: About a week ago, my download speed decreased from 2 megabytes/s to about 50 kb/s. Prior to the speed decrease, I did not install or update any programs, so it's probably not an interference from some wayward program. I've likewise not encountered any suspicious activity on the computer, nor have I visited suspicious sites, so it probably isn't a virus either. There are several odd things, however. While my download speed has dropped so dramatically, my upload speed is exactly the same. According to a Speedtest.net check from August, my download speed was 8.5 mb/s and my upload speed was 4.14 mb/s. Currently, it is practically the same, at 4.09 mb/s. What is really strange, however, is that according to the Speedtest from today, my download speed is 9 mb/s, even though I can still not exceed 50 kb/s.I tested IDM (download accelerator) on some of my skydrive files, since download accelerators allow for multiple streams of data simultaneously. I was able to download around 500 kb/s, which is still not even close to what I used to be able to reach from skydrive with IDM before (~2000 kb/s), but still much higher than if I only used one download stream (~50 kb/s).
Additional info: Browsing speed and video streaming is also much slower than usual.
I made a new connection with a password. And I have deleted the old connection on the "Manage wireless connections" But the old connection still appears on the Wireless connections. I don't want my neighbors to connect to the old one since it has no password, and I can't figure out how to delete it.

I have buildings geographically dispersed that are configured with multiple vlans in interface groups so that I can maintain an addressing scheme of dhcp assigned addresses per building. Each building is also further grouped as AP groups. I'd like to know if by assigning the same wlan ssid to each of the AP groups, will I maintain addressing integrity for each building? I'm thinking it will work.
Do the buildings have to be outside AP range of each other to avoid problems?

I was handed a firewall ASA 5520 but without external flash, I want to confirm that the ASA at least boot from rommon mode boot must have the external flash connected? I connected to power and I connect it by the console port it did not show any boot.Additionally I can confirm it is possible that you can connect a flash of a previous ASA model, say a 5510?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just flashed this router with DD-WRT about a week ago inside the webui that was provided. It all went well but I wanted to go back to the original factory firmware so turned it off for 20 seconds, and held the reset button for 10 seconds to reach the emergency-room. I re-flashed it with the firmware I got from d-links website and all went well. So I tried to go to 192.168.0.1 that did not work so I tried the ip that I gave it before it was flashed and it still remained x.x.x.254. I also turned off dhcp server since my isp's modem provides that and other services. But when I looked into the logs it would keep starting up dhcp server every minute which would lead to all kinds of problems.
Edit: The ip/subnet are set to 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0. It seems to start this as soon as dhcp is disabled.

I am in the process of moving our office and part of the task involves relocating our existing wireless access points. They are all 1242AG's running the c1240-k9w7-mx.124-10b.JDA3 IOS. I would like to change the security on the access points to WPA 2 but that selection is not available. I think upgrading the IOS will solve this problem but I am not sure. So I guess I have two questions:
1) Does this Cisco model support WPA 2 ?
2) If so what IOS do I need to load to make WPA 2 available?
I purchased quite a few of these APs as they listed the ability to function in WPA2-PSK mode, but on initial configuration I see that this may only apply to standard AP mode? Is there any way to configure WPA2-PSK on an AP541 to AP541 bridge? Unfortunately, this is a must have for our client. If not, what would allow for this with an external antenna port?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with Cisco WLC 2106 (SW: 7.0.98.0) and LAP1262. The client roams to new AP, associates with the new AP and authentication (WPA2 with EAP-TLS) runs fine until WPA2 key exchange.
The first WPA2-Key-paket from AP (1 / 4) is sent twice. On a closer look at those packets with Wire shark, i've found out the first is encapsulated into a 11n-frame (A-MSDU). The resent frame isn't. This figure shows the first WPA-Key-packet:
The next figure shows the 2nd key-packet, without 11n-encapsulation: The problem, that occurs a very long roaming-time with about 5 seconds. As you can see on second figure, the second wpa-key is sent 5 seconds after the first.

Client: Tablet PC with Intel 6230 agn
Controller: Cisco WLC 2106
AP: LAP 1262
Controller SW: 7.0.98.0
Encryption: WPA2-AES
Authentication: EAP-TLS
This problem occurs just on 5-GHz interface with 40 MHz channel bandwidth.

This office does not have a RADIUS server so I would like to set them up to use WPA2 with a pre-shared key. However just how this is accomplished is not immediately apparent. I have attempted using both the command line interface and the web interface, but I get errors in both places. It doesn't seem like it is all that difficult, we're just talking about a few lines in the configuration file.
