I am trying to TFTP an image to a Cisco 2504 WLC. The management interface is 10.1.1.1 /24 and I have my PC connected to a port on the WLC with the IP address 10.1.1.10. However, I still do not have connectivity between the PC and WLC.
View 3 RepliesI have a Cisco 5505 that had its disk erased (erase:disk0) and now I am trying to load a new image (822 or 813) from a tftp server.
From the ROMMON prompt I have configured the relevant parameters and run a tftp command.
The tftp transfer seems to complete successfully but then it gets stuck on "...loading".
I have tried different versions of IOS and I always experience the same problem, even though, with older versions of IOS (7.x), the device manages to reboot itself but then it crashes with the following error:
"Error : Uncompression of the image failed. invalid compressed data--format violated"
Could it be an hardware related-issue or a licensing problem maybe? or am I missing anything obvious?
also, with regards to the license: once restored, how do I get my 50 users license back?
I am doing image upgrade on Catalyst 6509-E. During TFTP image transfer to sup-bootflash I always see !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!o!!!!!!!!!! "o" out of sequence packet. Although the image size seems to be correct at the end but there is always some "o" packets.
I am assuming not, but I haven't tried loading with the image after seeing this.
I'm have upgraded our ASA5510's from 7.0.8 to 8.4.3 and now I just need to do the ASDM, but get this error? The bin file has been uploaded: [code] Device Manager image set, but not a valid image file disk0:/asdm-647.bin.

When I type in the commands copy tftp flash and enter all the necessary information, the router sits for a minute or so and then times out. View 16 Replies View RelatedI'm looking at adding a Cisco 3750-X switch running c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE1 (IP base license) into a stack of 3750-G switches running c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE1.bin Given that the version and feature sets are the same I don't forsee any compatibility issues. Would there be any reason why a universal image wouldn't stack correctly with other switches running the single .bin file?

I held the mode button on ap and powered on to get to rommon. The ap has no ios so it goes to rommon anyway. ap light is blinking red.

I have WLC 5508 in my office and i am asked to backup file configuration from WLC but when i remote WLC to get the upload configuration file via tftp it doesn't work.
But when I try to use direct connection ( point to point ) with WLC and my laptop i can get the upload configuration file. is there something wrong, actually i have connected with that WLC i can ping and telnet that device

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to convert two Aironet 1141n access points to autonomous stand-alone units. I have connected the console cable and I can see the unit giving information in the console window, but I cannot type any commands. When I try to get the unit to upload the c1140-k9w7-tar.default file by holding the mode button in for 20-30 seconds, it shows it is examining the file, and then states that the connection to the tftp server has timed out. My windows firewall is off, the interface is configured as 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.0 and the tftp server is showing that.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble TFTPing a configuration from my 851 Router to my computer through a IPsec VPN tunnel that this router is connected though. I am able to telnet and ping all devices on the far-end with no problem. I can TFTP a config from a switch behind this router, no problem. I am guessing this problem is related to an ACL on the router. I am also having trouble connecting to this router using the Cisco Config Professional. Discovery will fail, with connection could not be established or HTTP service is not enabled. I have enabled HTTP service. The CCP works fine when I am on the router's subnet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI struggle with how to install an IOS into an AP. And I am still not very clear on how this is to be accomplished. I have an 881W and have downloaded what I believe to be the latest IOS for this AP (ap801-k9w7-tar.152-2.JA). Problem is that I have not really found a good or at least clear set of instructions in how to load this IOS into my AP, so I have not done that yet.Does the IOS that is currently installed into the AP remain after an update or does the new IOS overwrite the current IOS. And how does one recover from a, heaven forbid, faulty installation. What is the fallback from that. How I can update my AP. Because, right now, I am most certainly hesitant to even attempt an upgrade.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a used AIR BR1310G-A--K9-R from a local high school that was rebuilding their athletic field. The AP was used for communications for their pressbox staff. The AIR BR1310G was part of the schools campus wide WiFi network and was upgraded to an lwapp image c1310-k9w8-m 12.4 3c JA. Our home sits on a large lot and I would like to convert the BR1310G back to an autonomous AP.
In order convert it back to an automonous AP, I will need the original image. The school used a contractor for their WiFi network and they do not have a backup of the original image. I do not have a service account with Cisco so downloading the autonomous image from the Cisco website is out. What are my options for either obtaining an image file or using the current managed image without a WLC?
I have a couple 1130AG switches. I'm trying to pull an image file from the flash on a Cisco Air AP1131AG. The file is c1130-k9w8-mx.124-23c.JA4.tar. The issue that I'm seeing is, I do not see a copy command to go through the tftp process. I've tried to use tftpd32 and enter the IP of the AP as the remote host, but that is not working either. Do I need to connect an ethernet cable straight to the AP in order to use Tftpd32, or can I use a console cable?

I've got a fully working 877w that I'm trying to get to boot from tftp, but I just can't seem to get that going.I have a tftp server running and can copy images back and forth without any trouble.I have this in my config:boot-start-markerboot system tftp c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T2.bin 192.168.1.200boot-end-markerDuring the boot process I get an error message that says there is a missing or illegal ip but I really don't see how that can be as my tftp server is 192.168.1.200 just like my config says.

I've looked through the documentation for loading the autonomous image on a 1552E WAP that has the lightweight image on it. All the documentation I can find mentions using the "archive" command at the command line. It doesn't appear to like the archive command.
I've seen in the documentation that it also mentions the software is loadable through the controller, but I can't figure out how to do that.
I currently have the 1552E connected to my 5508 controllers running 7.3 software. how to load this autonomous image on to the 1552E? I'm planning on using it to do site surveys with the 1552E.
i just bought a 5508 wireless controller that was delivered yesterday .I powered it on yesterday and was able to make basic configurations of management interface ,time and zone settings.I was also able to get to the GUi and console after the configs and it was alright. When I got in this morning it ran for about 2 hours and all of a sudden starts shutting down after every % minutes and comes back again.

Do i need to upgrade WISM1 to 7.2.111.3 before i export the configuration and import it into WISM2? Or can i just export the configuration from WISM1 on 6.0.199.4 and import directly to WISM2 which is on 7.1.111.3?
I have a 5508 WLC connected to 2950 Switch and the LAP 1262 connected to the same default VLAN. My AP's are able to join the controller since they are in the same broadcast domain but They are NOT able to download the image from WLC. When I am looking at the wireless TAB of WLC.. it says... Downloading Image.

On the WLC I've set DHCP address pool, everything seems fine after ap download image -> reboot -> hit "Enter" to start blar blar blar... however, after a few second the WLC will initial upgrade image again and again. it's like a non-stop process.
Attached is the start up message, as you can see, i captured it after the ap successfully boot up, and WLC initial another cycle of image upgrade.
btw, my network is flat, WLC & AP all in the same network.

- 2 x XP (on which i installed Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.3.0)
- 1 x Ubuntu (running GNS3 with a c3600 Router)
The problem is that the phone which is not in the same LAN with the tftp server cannot register.
1) Can a phone register to a tftp server from another LAN ?
2) If the answer for 1) is yes, what am i doing wrong (you can see the details in the attachments)? I mention that the ping works well anywhere in the LAN.
I have a questions on an Ip phone when getting the firmware from the TFTP server (e.g. CME) after bootup,- After the registration with CME, the IP phone will getting an auto config file which is the Default.xml file. - The CME will acts a a TFTP server which contains all the IP phone's firmware for different models like 7970 and 7640 in different directories.- The CME have configured with the directory path for all the IP phone when the IP phone come to TFTP and acquired the firmware.Let say I have a phone registered is 7970 and what is the mechanism that governs that my 7970 is not downloading the wrong firmware from the TFTP? Let say it might wrongly downloaded the 7640 firmware? Who take care of this? The phone itself? or the CME will tell the IP phone to take only the 7970 firmware via the Default.xml file?
View 1 Replies View Related i am gettinfg the following error while copy the configuration from 6590 to tftp server %Error opening tftp://x.x.x.x/yyyy (Timed out)
1) The file is getting created in the TFTP server but it is empty and a Zero Kb file
2 ) I can able to ping to the FTTP server from the switch
3) I can able to ping to switch from the tftp server
4) The same tftp server is working wih all another Switches (i have checked with anothed TFTP softwares also but the same problem)
5) The switch is in the different subnet, the switch is having several SVIs. Also Configured the command "ip tftp source interface vlan361" (This interface can able to ping from the tftp server and also can do extended Ping from this IP to the tftp server)
6)The communication between Ftp server and the switch want to cross Point to Point WAN link (Another switches can communicate with the tftp server through the same wan link)
7)If i run FTP server on the same System and try to copy running config from 6509 to FTP some times it is working and some times it is giving the error.
I'm configuring ACS for the first time and the config is complete and working, except backups of the view database. I've created a TFTP repositiory and if I perform a manual backup or wait for a scheduled one to occur it fails. I do get a .tar.gpg file in the TFTP server (but can not restore from it as it's not listed in "Restore" as a backup).
It works fine if I create and use a local disk repository. I get a .tar.gpg but also a catalog.xml and repolock.cfg file (which I don't in TFTP). Looking at the logs on the TFTP server I can see it tries repeatedly to read the catalog.xml file but fails:
Read request for file <DB/catalog.xml>. Mode netascii [15/07 16:05:52.167]
File <DBcatalog.xml> : error 2 in system call CreateFile The system cannot find the file specified. [15/07 16:05:52.167]
That seems correct, the file doesn't exist. However it never seems to try and create it.
