D-Link DCS-930L :: Cannot Save Settings And Internet Is Not Connecting
Nov 18, 2011
just bought DCS-930L few days ago, the manual sounds so easy (but it's hard than it looks) i stuck on the setting-up, here is my problem: unable to connect to mydlink web site and there was a problem saving my settings. seems like internet connecting problem, the software just couldn't connect to internet.i have already registered, i got my device number and it couldn't be find in my device on mydlink.
Due to problems with the D view cam, I have reset my IP camera DCS-930L but I can't register the password, it says "There was a problem saving your settings. Press next and try again." I can't get pass saving password, tried all the previous passwords but none works.
I upgraded the firmware per one suggestion, but no difference.I am going thru the setup wizard with ethernet cable attached. I want to use them wirelessly so I clicked wireless setup, and entered my network info. At that point I get an error message saying it failed to save settings. I know the ID and password are correct.I have tried exiting the setup wizard and accessing the camera thru the web interface. All wireless settings are correct. The camera works FINE on web browser, myDlink, and even my iPhone app as long as the ethernet cable is attached.Other wireless devices have no trouble connecting to my router. Is there some setting on the router that can be preventing the connection? I've done some trial-and-error changes, like different ports and enabling/disabling UpNp on both camera and router.Oh and almost forgot to mention.I did call tech support, which was a joke. Some foreign lady was reading off a script that told me to reset, unplug, reboot everything. Then she gave me a case# and said upgrade the firmware.
why I can't save any router settings? I get a momentary disconnect followed by a brief redirect message and then I get kicked back to the router log on page. This just started happening.

i installed cameras but want to set up for motion. I have 2 dcs 930l cameras and I can see them live i have only 2 settings live video and camera info i also downloaded the link from support.dlink.com i have a new windows 7 laptop and it keeps tryng to download java app problem is now computer keeps asking for a username and password and I have no idea what username and pw it wants as it says in the box it is unsecure
I just got a DCS-930L camera. I was able to set the password (10 characters) and complete the setup. It then said I needed to update the firmware which I did and it successfully completed. I was able to access it through the mydlink web page but when I clicked on the advanced settings, it wouldn't log in. I tried running the setup from the CD but it said "There was a problem saving your settings. Click Next to try again." That never worked. I tried a hard reset, no luck.
We nave a new DCS-932L, and a several month old DCS-930L, both with latest firmware.I have set up both the same, enabled Motion detection across the two middle horizontal bands (fully across); no email; ftp enabled; Video set to 1 fps, quality="high", java. The DCS-932L seems to ignore the frames per second settings; motion brings several seconds of 15 fps, generating maybe 50 image files in a burst. The DCS-930L on the other hand also seems to ignore the settings in the opposite direction, and sometimes has trouble providing even one complete frame.
How to keep the time and date field (in camera settings) to stay? All my other settings seem to be working (and staying) but unless my camera is on all the time, it reverts to 01-01-2011 with a 12:00 am time once I plug it in. I only hook the camera up during the day while I'm at work, so I can keep an eye on my older dogs. I'm not able to view the live video at work (ActiveX issues) so I tried to set up an email schedule so I would be sent pictures.
As a last resort, I went through the wizard set up one more time, thinking I missed something the first time around, but that didn't work either. I am not impressed with D-link support so really don't want to call them unless I absolutely have to.
I've been using my DCS-930L happily for the last month. Today, it suddenly stopped working. I haven't made any changes to my network or any configurations in about 2 weeks, during which the camera has worked fine locally as well as remotely. Now, if I unplug/plug it back in, the camera will immediately connect. However, after a period of time, it's no longer accessible, even from my local network. When I try to log-in to the camera or view it, it cannot be found or connected to. So it doesn't seem to be any of my configuration, but something that's intermittent or happens after awhile.
I would like my dcs-930l ip camera to be directly connected to my d-link dsl-321b modem (which has only one rj45 port to connect to), so that I can either access the cam via the internet (watching livestream through webinterface, that would be option 1) or so that the cam sends an email with a picture as soon as the motion sensors activate - that would be option 2 (by the way: the modem / cam get internet access through german telekom / t-online).
I have tried to get option 1 as well as option 2 to work, but I failed... I would be happy if either option 1 or 2 would work for me - I don't really care which one. In both cases, the problem seems to be that the dcs-930l cam cannot access the internet (but the cam itself works - I can view the livestream through the local network).
I'm trying to connect the D-Link 930L Wireless N Camera to my E4200 router. When I have the camera connected via the Ethernet cable it works fine, as soon as I unplug the Ethernet cable it will not connect wirelessly. I tested the camera on a friends router E3000 and the camera connects fine and work flawlessly on his network wirelessly. Any settings in the router that need to changed or set differently?? All of my other devices work great. I have been through D-Links Tech support all things point back to my router.
I'm using a Verizon DSL router, Mac D-Link Camera Setup Utility (BETA), and Mac OS X 10.6.7. Configuration of camera is as recommended in manual with CAT-5 cable. Green light blinks irregularly in a communicating-with-router manner. The setup utility won't recognize the camera
Nothing happens when clicking the SAVE button after making changes on the VLAN Membership screen when using IE9, but it work fine with IE8. Any problems using IE9 during configuration?
The problem is, I wanted to log into the router to reconfigure some of the settings and to see if I have the option of using a VPN, only the router will not let me connect. I pinged the router and established that the installation engineer had changed the default LAN ip but whenever I try to navigate to this ip address by. Browser (Firefox) says unable to connect.I have tried a wired connection and rebooting procedures.
I'm just trying to port forward with this router, and after I'm done entering all my settings, I click save settings, it tells me settings are successful.
But the it goes back to the port forwarding page and all the stuff is at default again as if I didn't make any changes. What the hell is this?
I'm sure it's just a little something I don't know about that's making it not save any changes to port forwarding.
Is there a way to avoid network interruptions when resetting the F5D8235-4 v3 router? I was hoping to find a config file or some other way to avoid having to reset the home network and devices. The administrator password has been lost, so i would like to reset that only and not restore factory settings.
I have a RVS4000 that will not save any settings. Click on, for instance, Disable WAN requests. Click save and it goes back to Enable. If I create a VPN tunnel, click save, it clears all settings like I didn't type anything.
I try to change modem speed from 1200 to 19200 on aux 0 interface. But I can't save the settings using "write memory" In show running-config, I can see modem speed successfully changed.
Cisco3825's OS information is here. c3825-spservicesk9-mz.124-25b.bin
Save and reset button is not working on Sys log Purge Settings page (Admin > Network > Purge Settings > Sys log Purge Settings) when Email: field is not empty. An Reset button is not working at all. This is the Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.1.
Is it only my LMS server or you all have this bug?
I think I did everything per the manual, but I cannot access my camera over the internet thru [URL] website. It says that I have to check if I have enough bandwidth, or checked if my camera is not blocked by my router But I have a Dlink DIR 655 router where I have configured the Virtual server (port 80) as it is explain in the manual I also have a DHCP reservation that works fine (I can access the camera within my network) What should I do more now to finally access my camera from internet (this is for me the interest of havinf a network camera!)
I have 3 932ls and one 930l in a house in Massachusetts, all registered onto my dlink. All went fine.I brought 3 more 932l and one 930l to a house in Mexico. I had problem w the 932l wizard. Then I noticed that I had brought 2 different wizard discs. They were different versions, the older one could not find a Internet connection, so I could go no further. I tried the newer version of the 932l wizard, it found my Internet connection, and did installation and registered all three 932ls to my current mydlink account. All fine so far. On my mydlink account I have the three Massachusetts 932s , the one Massachusetts 930, and the three Mexico 932s.
I had forget to bring the 930L disc for the installation. Here is where the problem started. I downloaded the 930L wizard from the Dlink site, but I can't get past that first section where is says " checking active x, checking Internet, checking LAN " or something to that effect. It then says " can't find Internet connection, check your adapter, router, etc" or something to that effect. I can't go any further with that wizard. I was able to find the cam from my router and finally got that 930L interface, and did the manual as well as the automatic set-up. I can see the cam perfectly, by going to 192.168.1.101 I can log in, reset my password, did everything. I can see cam wirelessly.
The problem is that I CAN'T register it to my mydlink account, and hence can't see it on mydlink lite , etc.I can ONLY see the cam INTRANET - WISE.the 930L wizard that I downloaded is worthless. I have disabled firewall, did everything, tried an XP PC, as well as a windows 7 laptop. Is there any way to add the cam to my mydlink account ? I even tried the 932L wizard that DOES find my Internet connection, but it doesn't find my 930 at the part where I have to chase a cam to set up. If I can't add the 930L to my mydlink account, I would even be happy if I could access it from the 192.168.1. ddress, but I dont know how to set that up so that I can do that from a different network than my own. I suppose that there must be a way to get to my modem, my router and then to that 192.168.1.101 address?
i am trying to port forward my router so that i can run a minecraft server. When I put in th port number and save the changes, it brings me to a screen that says my changes have been saved yet when i go back to the page they haven't. I have tried deleting the cookies on my browser, using another browser, using another computer, and hard resetting the router for ten seconds. None of this works.
I did read the thread entitled ''WRT160N Can't save settings'', but I believe this might be different. My router is actually communicating with my computer (physically plugged in), since I can save all other settings EXCEPT the port-fowarding ones.I am trying to save settings for a gaming application in the Single Port Forwarding section of my router settings. After clicking both ''save settings'' and ''continue'', it simply returns to the Single Port Forwarding section, except everything is blank, as though nothing was saved.
Here are my specs:
WRT160Nv1 Firmware Version: v3.0.03
Here are the steps I have already undertaken:
1- Erase browser cache and cookies
2- Updated to latest firmware (v3.0.03), 10-second reset button, 20-second power cycle.
I installed my camera a week ago and have since noticed every 15 minutes (only while the camera is plugged in) or so I would lose my internet connection. A message comes up at the bottom of my screen that says 'local area connection. A network cable is unplugged'. It takes 15-20 seconds for the connection to be re-established.
I called my ISP and asked if there were any settings on my router I needed to change since the camera install but they told me 'no' and I should contact tech support for the camera.
I open the IE, it takes about 3 minutes to open up.Its says at the bottom left corner "detecting proxy settings". I went to Tools>Internet Options>Connections Tab>LAN settings> and unchecked Automatically detect settings, but still did not work.
I just installed my new E4200, and am setting the Access Restrictions. Is there anyway to block the popup window that displays every time I enter the form or save the settings?
I'm using IE9 and have tried adjusting the Popup Blocker, but to no avail.

I have successfully connected to my ISP with the 3G USB dongle. But it seems like the PIN code is not saved. I have to enter it after a reboot of the router.
For some reasons, my internet connection keeps dropping more often recently. My laptop still says it is connected to my network but I can just not have internet connection. It was not like that before but it happened more frequently now. What I did was to power off then on the modem and the router and everything will work fine again. I want to upgrade my firmware but I just wonder if I need to save all the configuration before doing the upgrading? If so, then how can I set it back to the old configuration that was saved?
