I've a brand new DIR-825 and I've tried to connect my pendrive into a DIR USB.
I configured my router like this:

And this option don't work !
USB led is blinking at blue color and my pendrive is blinking too.
How I configure this ? everything else is working now and my internet too.
I have a D-Link dsl 2640u, it's a modem but since it has 4 ports im assuming it's also a router. My problem is that when i enter my ip address into the address bar it doesn't recognize it. I can't use Utorrent or anything that requires ports to be opened..and it's a pain in the butt. when I type ipconfig on my command prompt it brings up..172.16.X.X and when i enter it into the address bar nothing is found. I'd like to port forward by accessing the modem's config page.I read on another thread that i could set my own ip address by going to: Control Panel>Network and Sharing center> Local Area Network>Properties of Ipv6 and typing my own ip address but when i do this i lose my internet connection.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have webcams that need port 8081 opened and I did that, everything worked fine until my DIR655 jammed up and power cycling it and the modem 3-4 times DID not make it work: no internet access and it was definitely a DIR655 problem. So, out with the paperclip to do the big reset, causing me to lose my configuration. When "most" of it came back up with my new config (I had screen prints), all was okay EXCEPT the webcams. Addresses and ports were all configured properly, address was fixed too on the client computer rather than use DHCP. I had a DNS relocation service running (DYNDNS) for the WAN side, but that address (My IP) didn't change either. I tried EVERYTHING. Finally, I realized in all my screwing around that I had enabled UPnP in my application, something I hadn't done before, but did this time as a desperation move. UPnP had always been checked off in the router. So.....I REMOVED my port forwarding and virtual server settings (either one worked before), and voila, everything working, Is this a normal occurrence, that if you have UPnP running, that this auto configuration overrides any manual configuration?

I have an broadband connection which does not need a modem to access, i get the CAT5 inthernet cable from the provider. In case if i use it directly on my PCall i have to do is provide username and password under PPPoE and internet works like a breeze.
Now i try to use this 3040 device to use as an wireless router so that i can access internet on multiple devices. How to configure this. I tried in all the three switch options provided with no result at all..I am now using a traditional router from which i connect to Tplink 3g router and using wireless under Access point option...But i would like to use it directly as i can get battery back up so that even when there is no power i can still browse?

I had an issue where if you did change the IP adress default 192.168.0.xxx to something like 192.168.yyy.xxx, the configuration page was becoming inaccessible. It was super slow, was displaying the wrong pages with missing images and wrong page formating. I had to reset the router to default and then it was working fine.That seems to have been fixed since 2.05. Now you can change the default ip adress to anything you want and the configuration or setup still work fine.When I am on LAN, the setup page are displayed almost instantly. By remote, it's super slow.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying in vain to setup my home network so that I can perform wake on lan (WOL) over the internet. I have been able to do WOL with a magic packet utility within my local network - so I know that the PC NICS are configured correctly - but this does not work when I try it from my office for example, over the internet.
I have a virtual server set up forwarding ports 9 and 7, UDP to 192.168.1.101 initially, but found some threads about using the broadcast address so changed this, but still no luck. I had to downgrade to 1.20 from 1.21 as I found several threads here about firmware versions not allowing broadcasts.
My setup is as follows:
Router: 192.168.1.1
PC1 192.168.1.101 (static assigned by MAC address in the router)
PC2 192.168.1.102 (static assigned by MAC address in the router)
Broadcast address was 192.168.1.255

I am looking after a mixed collection of Cisco and HP switches and use a Perl script to extract configuration data.I use the ifStackStatus table (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.2.1.3) from RFC1573 to sucesfully obtain the EtherChannel data from the Cisco switches but, though I do obtain data from the same table from the Procurve switches it seems to bear no resemblance to Link Agregation. I could look at other tables and may have to - but would like to use this one in order to simplify the code.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to configure some settings on my modem and to do so I must access it from it's ip (192.168.250.1). However, when I load that ip in my browser it does not connect.
My router has a private ip of 192.168.0.1 because of a Double NAT issue which I am trying to fix by going to the modem's configuration page. I am pretty sure that it is 192.168.250.1 because that is what my router ISP Gateway says, along with ipconfig in cmd when I directly connected to the modem from my computer.
By the way, I am currently connected through my D-Link 254 router which is connected to my WiMax modem.

Also, I entered the router's settings and went to Advanced > Firewall > NAT ENDPOINT FILTERING .There are 3 options specified for UDP/TCP Endpont Filtering; they are:
Endpoint Independent
Address Restricted
Port and Address Restricted
What are these options? I downloaded the manual for the router but it doesn't mention what NAT, Endpoint Independent, Address Restricted, and Port and Address Restricted are.
Side Note: I thought about setting up a secure connection using WPA2. Right not I'm using an unsecured wireless network. If I setup a new secure wireless connection using WPA2 will my current unsecured connection still be available?
I've been lagging really bad when my sister uses the laptop upstairs with wireless connection. Just 1 computer makes me have up to 100 ping, imagine 3. I had set an admin password and user's password. It was not same password. In this setting, there was no problem. Sure, no problem at connect from private IP, internet IP or just reboot and anywhere. The problem is the next.
If you got an electronic timer-switch and apply the DIR-615 then you cannot obtain an admin privilege from a remote. It just general user's permission even if I put the admin password.
I have been DIr-615 E4 hardware and 5.10 firmware. It does not happens at local IP address(i.e. 192.168.0.1) but it happen as trying connect from a remote IP address after AC plug re-powered.
I am doing use the AC timer for the remote internet managing at every day. It useful things for the router and IP camera. I need a admin privilege from a internet for the router managing.
I have Broadband 100 from Shaw Cablesystems (100mbps speed).I can only pull 30mbps with the DIR-615. I have tried exchanging it for another one, same issue.Is there some kind of configuration option I'm missing?
View 14 Replies View RelatedNewly acquired DIR-615 E3 with F/W vers. 5.10. Router configured with IPv4 static address for WAN works fine. As soon as I configure the WAN IPv6 with a static IP address also, the configuration for the IPv4 static IP is corrupted. Other combinations of (WAN config) using static for either IPv4 or IPv6 with DHCP or other seem to work. Just appears to have conflict with two WAN static IP configurations.

Any attempts to restore them is returned with "The restored configuration file has been uploaded in failure." I haven't changed my router. The firmware remains the same. I'm using Firefox, though I believe I've always used Firefox to interface with the router.

I set it up using the CD and followed all the instructions (made a password, wrote down the key, etc.) - and my Wii CAN detect it, but when I type in the key on the Wii I get an error message. I looked online and they said the way to fix that specific error is to "change the channel" on the router to 1 or 11. (It is currently 6). I type in my IP into the browser like I'm supposed to (the default IP of the router), but ALL the options on the page are greyed out and nothing is click-able. Here's a screenshot
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've owned the Rev A DIR-655 for years and have loved it, but recently it started acting up. I have a complicated setup saved as a gateway settings file (.gws). I decided to purchase a new DIR-655 for the ease of importing my settings without having to manually setup again, however, much to my dismay, the new file format for the configuration settings on the Rev B is not .gws but rather .bin. The .gws file will not import. I tried changing the file extension to .bin with hopes it might import but no luck. I also found the utility which decrypts the .gws file into .xml and used those values to manually re-enter the settings into the Rev B router, but my port forwarding is not working the same. I was wondering if there is any utility to convert the .gws file to the .bin file in order to import into the Rev B router, or if not, can I still purchase the Rev A model somewhere. The online shops I've checked do not list the hardware version.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was changing the port forwarding configuration when suddenly the router stopped working, and now the "D-Link" light is constantly on, and the power light and the 4 LAN lights are flashing. Nothing worked, resetting, or unplug and plug again in a short time.
I disconnected it for 12 hours, and when I plugged in again, it kinda worked, and the settings where factory defaults, so when I tried to connect it to DSL via PPoE, when ( I believe ) it reboots to accept the changes, it starting flashing again and completely stopped working.
So I waited 12 hours more unplugged, plugged it and it worked, and the setting from 12 hours earlier were still there. But when trying to connect to the DSL it stopped working AGAIN.
Now I don't know what to do. I guess I am going to keep trying connecting with little differences, until something.
I believe it still has warranty but since the is no official service in Uruguay, it isn't economically viable to send it overseas.
I am currently connected directly to the DSL, sharing connection to other computers through a switch and hosting an ad-hoc wireless network, but the performance is terrible and the wireless range is minimal.

Very weird situation... can't get full speed with the TD-W8968 with my DSL link..
For some reasons, my internet connection keeps dropping more often recently. My laptop still says it is connected to my network but I can just not have internet connection. It was not like that before but it happened more frequently now. What I did was to power off then on the modem and the router and everything will work fine again. I want to upgrade my firmware but I just wonder if I need to save all the configuration before doing the upgrading? If so, then how can I set it back to the old configuration that was saved?

My android phone which is HTC Sensation and my sister's phone Samsung Galaxy Mini can detect the wifi and connect/browse to the internet. However when we try to watch online videos (via youtube or other sites) and update/download apps from the google play store its just fails.
