View 1 Replies View RelatedI run a home private server on Centos 5.5 I believe. A while ago, a surge destroyed a different computer with pictures on it that my parents would like to access. The hard drive itself is just fine, and I've backed up those files on an external hard drive. What I would like to do is allow my parents to access them through Samba. Samba has already been in long time use, but it is configured to only allow access in a jail inside each user's home folder on the root hard drive. I have a suitable hard drive already formatted and mounted that can fit all the pictures that they wish to have access too. What I'd like to do, is change the path that one of my users use to the mounted hard drive.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded the firmware update "Ver.1.0.02 build 11" for my WRT400N from linksys.com several times. I then try to update my firmware on my router. Each time I try, I get an error message that says "Incorrect file path."
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm only able to restore my settings from a backup taken in July 2011. Any backups that I take, say today for example, won't restore. Any attempts to restore them is returned with "The restored configuration file has been uploaded in failure." I haven't changed my router. The firmware remains the same. I'm using Firefox, though I believe I've always used Firefox to interface with the router.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've owned the Rev A DIR-655 for years and have loved it, but recently it started acting up. I have a complicated setup saved as a gateway settings file (.gws). I decided to purchase a new DIR-655 for the ease of importing my settings without having to manually setup again, however, much to my dismay, the new file format for the configuration settings on the Rev B is not .gws but rather .bin. The .gws file will not import. I tried changing the file extension to .bin with hopes it might import but no luck. I also found the utility which decrypts the .gws file into .xml and used those values to manually re-enter the settings into the Rev B router, but my port forwarding is not working the same. I was wondering if there is any utility to convert the .gws file to the .bin file in order to import into the Rev B router, or if not, can I still purchase the Rev A model somewhere. The online shops I've checked do not list the hardware version.

I use IE, I go to port forward, I set everything up like it shows and put in my PS3 IP, and I choose save settings. When it comes back after rebooting, nothing is saved. Everything I put in has vanished.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a DCS-930L camera. I was able to set the password (10 characters) and complete the setup. It then said I needed to update the firmware which I did and it successfully completed. I was able to access it through the mydlink web page but when I clicked on the advanced settings, it wouldn't log in. I tried running the setup from the CD but it said "There was a problem saving your settings. Click Next to try again." That never worked. I tried a hard reset, no luck.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn have the 942l and the mydlink Lite app on the iPhone. I have recording set up on the camera capturing in .mp4 format. I can view the camera on the phone fine. I can go the menu and select playback. I see the date of my recordings and the time. Each individual file is listed as you can see.
When I select any of these files, I get a black screen.
Do I need to change the rtsp URL? Anyone have this working correctly on the iPhone? If so, can you share your settings?
have just set up a WLC 4402 as a Guest WLAN controller on the DMZ of our network. I have successfully managed to get our internal controllers to connect to it, with the exception of 1. it says the control path is up but the data path is down. the other 14 controllers worked fine, and in testing the last one was OK but it is now not working properly. the 2 controllers can ping each other but just won't create the data tunnel. there is a firewall in the middle but that has been set up to allow traffic between the 2 groups of controllers to be unrestricted.
the internal controllers are 4404's and all controllers are running the same version of code. 5.1.151.0.
I have a problem with RME 4.2 from CWLMS 3.1. I have configured SSH in my asa 5520 device but RME can't get the configuration file. I ran a job to sync archive but i get this message error:

View 1 Replies View RelatedAt home I have a perfectly working test setup for more than 1 year now , but yesterday we had a power down for about 10 minutes in the whole area , after this power down nothing was working in my network any longer.
My Network is has follow :
ISP(Cable Modem) on FA23 from the CISCO 2950 SWITCH (24 Ports)
ROUTER (ON A STICK) on FA24 from the CISCO 2950 SWITCH
And the rest of the switch is FA1=VLAN 1; FA2=VLAN 2;FA10=VLAN 10
Our home network is connected to VLAN 10 with a IP Range of 192.168.10.x /24 After this power down , I was not able to look into the SWITCH via FA1 , the FIX IP in this switch was 192.168.1.251/24, the ONLY way to get access was via the consol port !!!What a suprice when I connected my consol to the PC , I can see ROUTER_F342 , my router config is called ROUTER1841 and my switch config name is /was called SW24.So it seems that after this Power Down , the router took or received a config from my provider ?!?
I have recovered the the file in the switch + the vlan.dat and now everithing works again.
How can I avoid that this switch receive again a wrong file , I have all the needed files on the products itself and I do not use a TFTP server.
I have atached some screen shot when my switch is starting up , and it seems that the switch receive a IP address from my ISP , I do not know why, in the config file I have given it a FIX IP 192.168.1.251/24 ?!?So it seems that my ISP erase the config file and when the switch is empty ,the swich look for :
tftp://255.255.255.255/router-confg
tftp://255.255.255.255/ciscortr.cfg
Etc ....
Until it find something.
I have tried after a complete recovery to switch off the power again for 10 minutes (ISP MODEM + SWITCH + ROUTER) and I was not able to reproduce the fault.Can it be that due to this power failure in our area that some routers or switches send or broadcast this kind of things ?
I'm trying to save a configuration file on my 2960-48PST to a FTP server.
Unfortunately it doesn't work. What different steps I should follow ?
The software version is 12.2(50)SE5.
We have CISCO2811 model with VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 module working good over the E1 line. Since it's getting hard to find new model of CISCO2811 we decided to connect new branches with CISCO2911/K9 model (according to migration doc)
My question is can we use 2811's old config file with the 2911 model directly?
We have a bunch of switches that are running fine but the running-config file is missing and we can't save the config to the tftp server. IOS is c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-37.SE1. I've got lots of these switches running the same code that are just fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to configure this router to obtain an IPv6 address from my ISP who offers a dual stack IPv4/IPv6 DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation service.
I did a WAN packet capture to see the type of DHCPv6 packets the router sends to the ISP in order to obtain an IPv6 address and I saw that the router is sending DHCPv6 solicitation packets of type IA_NA i.e. for Identity Association for Non-temporary Address. However, most ISPs that offer a dual stack IP4/IPv6 service, they use DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation in which case the router is expected to send DHCPv6 solicitation packets of type IA_PD i.e. for Identity Association for Prefix Delegation.
I then downloaded its configuration file and saw the following:
dhcpv6c = {}
dhcpv6c[1] = {}
dhcpv6c[1]["renewTime"] = "3600"
[Code].....
So, the option for the DHCPv6 client to perform a prefixDelegation request is disabled. Does that mean that if I set this flag to "1" it is going to work? Well, I edited the configuration file and changed this flag but the router refuses to load it! It complains about the file being changed. How does it know that? Is it computing some type of checksum? How can I manually edit this flag and update the router's configuration?
I just reinstalled windows and am trying to restore my previous settings. I was wondering how to do that, specifically with the bookmarks.I originally saved my bookmarks with an export, and I have the saved file.I cannot seem to get my bookmarks back. I have tried all of the options.I am using the internet browser, google chrome.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have webcams that need port 8081 opened and I did that, everything worked fine until my DIR655 jammed up and power cycling it and the modem 3-4 times DID not make it work: no internet access and it was definitely a DIR655 problem. So, out with the paperclip to do the big reset, causing me to lose my configuration. When "most" of it came back up with my new config (I had screen prints), all was okay EXCEPT the webcams. Addresses and ports were all configured properly, address was fixed too on the client computer rather than use DHCP. I had a DNS relocation service running (DYNDNS) for the WAN side, but that address (My IP) didn't change either. I tried EVERYTHING. Finally, I realized in all my screwing around that I had enabled UPnP in my application, something I hadn't done before, but did this time as a desperation move. UPnP had always been checked off in the router. So.....I REMOVED my port forwarding and virtual server settings (either one worked before), and voila, everything working, Is this a normal occurrence, that if you have UPnP running, that this auto configuration overrides any manual configuration?

I go to many different offices and have probably about 50 wireless networks 'stored' on my laptop. Everytime I go back to that office it just automatically connects. Is this going to be a problem with the Flash Memory on the device?I have successfully saved config on this device in the past, which is why I am thinking it might be a problem with the flash memory.
I had a problem earlier today upgrading to a new N router. All PCs in the house connected wirelessly except my laptop which I got the message below.The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network.
