View 1 RepliesI have a Cisco ASA 5510. I am trying to copy large files between DMZ and INSIDE network and it is copying at awfully a slow speed. I thought it might have been related to duplex mismatch but it doesn't seem to be. DMZ interface is set at 100 full duplex. I programmed the port on the managed switch where the DMZ uplink is connected to be 100 full duplex. I even hard set the NIC on server to be 100 full. Nothing worked. So, I come to a conclusion it isn't the duplex mismatch but there gotta be something else on Cisco ASA. I was googling for this issue and came across it could be a QoS policy. Now, checking my ASA I see a any to any global service_policy where it is defined to inspect certain protocols where 'netbios' is one of them (among others such as 'ftp', 'tftp', etc. Could the slow copying be related to the above policy? Could there be a bandwidth limitation between DMZ and INSIDE interface? How do I check?

I recently upgraded the Mac to Lion and they no longer enable Time Machine to back-up to a network attached drive (Ugh!). I thought a simple work around would be to clone the drive, but the FAT file format does not allow a file size greater than 4 GB. So I seem stuck. Can the router be configured to enable exFat file format for storage? I have the back-up drive in an obsecure location (this is why I want to access the drive over the network) and would hate to relocate the drive to a more visible location.

Configuration looks fine and it works when i paste it in cli, but when i copy it via tftp i'm getting strange problems like dhcp not working or snmp not accessible. Am I missing something.
Here's config from router with dhcp problem:

After using my 2 TB WD network storage device on other systems both wirelessly and via an ethernet connection, I decided to install the device on a new system via a wired connection. Unfortunately, my computer (WIN XP) won't recognise the device when using a direct connection though my talk talk supplied D-LINK wireless router. I have contacted WD and talktalk and gone through all the diagnostic processes but it still won't recognise the device. I have been able to connect this device through an older D-LINK router (still wireless) on the same talk talk ISP with no problems so I can't understand why it won't connect here. The WD device reports no problems but I can't access it, even when all firewall and AV programs are disabled.

I'm trying to create TV Series library for my Apple TV. Everything is working fine except the size of the files. When I'm copying files from PC USB they are corrupted on the network storage and not accessible. When I'm copying one file of size 350 Mb on the Network Storage via WIFI working fine but is saved with size of 2,7 Gb.

I just upgraded my wireless router to a D-Link DIR-655. I have 2 PCs and a network storage device (D-Link DNS 321) connected via ethernet to the router. I also have an xBox 360 connected wirelessly to the router. The xBox is able to connect to the internet via the router, but it cannot connect to (see) the PC's or the network storage device. It was able to do so with my old wireless router (a Belkin), but it stopped with the DIR-655.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow does the storage work with a WAG320N device via USB if I am using a Ubuntu 10.04/10.10 et al?
Does it look like an FTP site or can I just use it as a shared folder accessible though the normal folder directory structure from any machine on the network.
I updated to Firmware Version: 1.0.04. And now I can't logon to the router when my storage device is turned on. However, I can logon to the router when the device is off. If I turn the power on the storage device and try to navigate the router it says ".....Can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.1." Then I have to reboot the router to be able to log back on.

I've plugged in a USB flash drive and enabled shared storage on my TL-WR1043ND router. With "Access shared storage with password" unticked, I can access the share using both my Windows 7 Laptop and Motorola Defy+ (with ES File explorer) and successfully play any Music off of the network share using the Android App, ES File explorer.
If I enable "Access shared storage with password" and attempt to log in using any of the user accounts I've set up on the device, I will be able to access the shares using the credentials on my Windows 7 Machine, but not with my Motorola Defy+, instead I will simply receive "Login failure". I'm Picking it has something to do with the network share type?
My E4200 storage config (portions of it) does not persist through reboot cycles. We often have to reboot the router because we lose wireless conectivity, and each time we reboot, we lose our mapped drives because the router is no longer sharing the folders and permissions I set up. And in the storage settings, my shared folder setup looks like factory default (sharing only root /) after each reboot. Those settings do not persist. I have to restore my router config from a backup after each reboot, which is a real pain. Especially when the kids reboot the router to get their wireless back, but restore is just too complicated for them, and so they call me when they then can not access their network share folders with homework on them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've owned the Rev A DIR-655 for years and have loved it, but recently it started acting up. I have a complicated setup saved as a gateway settings file (.gws). I decided to purchase a new DIR-655 for the ease of importing my settings without having to manually setup again, however, much to my dismay, the new file format for the configuration settings on the Rev B is not .gws but rather .bin. The .gws file will not import. I tried changing the file extension to .bin with hopes it might import but no luck. I also found the utility which decrypts the .gws file into .xml and used those values to manually re-enter the settings into the Rev B router, but my port forwarding is not working the same. I was wondering if there is any utility to convert the .gws file to the .bin file in order to import into the Rev B router, or if not, can I still purchase the Rev A model somewhere. The online shops I've checked do not list the hardware version.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAt home I have a perfectly working test setup for more than 1 year now , but yesterday we had a power down for about 10 minutes in the whole area , after this power down nothing was working in my network any longer.
My Network is has follow :
ISP(Cable Modem) on FA23 from the CISCO 2950 SWITCH (24 Ports)
ROUTER (ON A STICK) on FA24 from the CISCO 2950 SWITCH
And the rest of the switch is FA1=VLAN 1; FA2=VLAN 2;FA10=VLAN 10
Our home network is connected to VLAN 10 with a IP Range of 192.168.10.x /24 After this power down , I was not able to look into the SWITCH via FA1 , the FIX IP in this switch was 192.168.1.251/24, the ONLY way to get access was via the consol port !!!What a suprice when I connected my consol to the PC , I can see ROUTER_F342 , my router config is called ROUTER1841 and my switch config name is /was called SW24.So it seems that after this Power Down , the router took or received a config from my provider ?!?
I have recovered the the file in the switch + the vlan.dat and now everithing works again.
How can I avoid that this switch receive again a wrong file , I have all the needed files on the products itself and I do not use a TFTP server.
I have atached some screen shot when my switch is starting up , and it seems that the switch receive a IP address from my ISP , I do not know why, in the config file I have given it a FIX IP 192.168.1.251/24 ?!?So it seems that my ISP erase the config file and when the switch is empty ,the swich look for :
tftp://255.255.255.255/router-confg
tftp://255.255.255.255/ciscortr.cfg
Etc ....
Until it find something.
I have tried after a complete recovery to switch off the power again for 10 minutes (ISP MODEM + SWITCH + ROUTER) and I was not able to reproduce the fault. Can it be that due to this power failure in our area that some routers or switches send or broadcast this kind of things ?
I'm trying to save a configuration file on my 2960-48PST to a FTP server.
Unfortunately it doesn't work. What different steps I should follow ?
The software version is 12.2(50)SE5.
