Apr 26, 2010I am having trouble accessing my DIR-655 remote management screen via ip to my network.To make sure i didnt have any odd settings, i did a hard reset on my router first.I then enabled remote management, and left the default port 8080 I try to access viw the ip address on my status page suffixed by the port 8080 [URL] page cannot be found.I then enabled https and tried to access via:[URL]page cannot be found.I then setup a entry in the virtual server to redirect http requests to my workstation hosting IIS7, if i connect to localhost, the iis welcome screen appears, but if i browse to my ip, i get nothing.I am using Cox residential service, i called them and they informed me that they do not filter or block requests in any way.

Nov 30, 2011I have a Netgear WNDR3300 Dual-Band and is setup to use both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz to achieve 300 Mbps connection.
On the DAP-1522, I use IE (not Firefox or Chrome) for configuration as follow:
- IP address: STATIC
- Wireless config: using Wizard
- Wireless security: WPA2 / AES
- Mac Cloning: disabled
I tested this by connecting a Windows 7 desktop AND laptop via Ethernet cable and both laptop can obtain IP address dynamically, so my DAP-1522 is talking to the WNDR3300 (it has DHCP). Both Win 7 machines can also access the Internet.The problem is, I can NO LONGER access DAP-1522 admin screen, even by typing the static IP address assigned to it. The ONLY way I can re-access it is:
a). Reset DAP-1522
b). Shutdown the WNDR3300 wireless router, assign a static IP to the laptop, connect via cable to DAP-1522

Jan 29, 2012I have been trying to configure some settings on my modem and to do so I must access it from it's ip (192.168.250.1). However, when I load that ip in my browser it does not connect.
My router has a private ip of 192.168.0.1 because of a Double NAT issue which I am trying to fix by going to the modem's configuration page. I am pretty sure that it is 192.168.250.1 because that is what my router ISP Gateway says, along with ipconfig in cmd when I directly connected to the modem from my computer.
By the way, I am currently connected through my D-Link 254 router which is connected to my WiMax modem.

The live video is OK from MyDlink, but when I log on to the cameras from "Advanced Settings" the live video is just a black screen, no matter what video profile I select. Jan 25, 2011When I try to find where to select between the different encryption types (TKIP or AES), I see the info on page 87 of the product manual, but this doesn't match what I see in the Manual Wireless Network Setup screen. You can select WPA Personal (in Security Mode), but there are no further panels below it to select encryption types and enter the PSK. Compare page 30 to page 87. There are extra panels on 87 that don't appear on 30, and I can't find a way to access them while accessing the router.I've got the unit set up and running; works fine with my wireless laptop. It's just that I need to be able to switch between things in order to troubleshoot a setup with an internet radio I'm trying to get running (Grace Digital, which apparently doesn't do 802.11n, only up to g).

When I access it through my browser, and say I go to the advanced tab, most of the time when I click on any link in any settings it automatically brings me back to the 'login' screen. Once I log in again, then it takes me back to the status screen. For instance, I just logged on. Then I went to click on the 'tools' tab. I do, and it takes me back to 'login' I do, and then back to status.
Also, I have hardware version B1 and Firmware version 2.00NA I see downloads for firmware 2.01NA and 2.03NA under support resources. But my router says my firmware is up to date at 2.00NA. Should I be updating the firmware as it shows on the website?

Dec 14, 2012I have webcams that need port 8081 opened and I did that, everything worked fine until my DIR655 jammed up and power cycling it and the modem 3-4 times DID not make it work: no internet access and it was definitely a DIR655 problem. So, out with the paperclip to do the big reset, causing me to lose my configuration. When "most" of it came back up with my new config (I had screen prints), all was okay EXCEPT the webcams. Addresses and ports were all configured properly, address was fixed too on the client computer rather than use DHCP. I had a DNS relocation service running (DYNDNS) for the WAN side, but that address (My IP) didn't change either. I tried EVERYTHING. Finally, I realized in all my screwing around that I had enabled UPnP in my application, something I hadn't done before, but did this time as a desperation move. UPnP had always been checked off in the router. So.....I REMOVED my port forwarding and virtual server settings (either one worked before), and voila, everything working, Is this a normal occurrence, that if you have UPnP running, that this auto configuration overrides any manual configuration?

I have an broadband connection which does not need a modem to access, i get the CAT5 inthernet cable from the provider. In case if i use it directly on my PCall i have to do is provide username and password under PPPoE and internet works like a breeze.
Now i try to use this 3040 device to use as an wireless router so that i can access internet on multiple devices. How to configure this. I tried in all the three switch options provided with no result at all..I am now using a traditional router from which i connect to Tplink 3g router and using wireless under Access point option...But i would like to use it directly as i can get battery back up so that even when there is no power i can still browse?

Aug 17, 2011I've got the DIR-825 2.02. I had an issue where if you did change the IP adress default 192.168.0.xxx to something like 192.168.yyy.xxx, the configuration page was becoming inaccessible. It was super slow, was displaying the wrong pages with missing images and wrong page formating. I had to reset the router to default and then it was working fine.That seems to have been fixed since 2.05. Now you can change the default ip adress to anything you want and the configuration or setup still work fine.When I am on LAN, the setup page are displayed almost instantly. By remote, it's super slow.
