I have a Vostro 460 desktop, recently bought, and then realized it would be better to add wireless router. Bought router and a PCIe wireless mini card that was suggested for my PC on Dell order site. The card arrived and am trying to install. The end plate with the aerial socket is not compatible with the removable access blanks in rear of case. Have I been sent an incorrect or unsuitable card, or is there some trick or adapting needed to install this card?

Cannot start my lap/Toshiba NB205-N311/W . Only: Toshoiba Innovation comes up and then black screen , no way to log in, the hard disk lamp flashes once very shortly that's it. I tried CTRL-ALT-DEL, the same as above discribed. Nothing works no F2, F8, the hard drive just won't start. I even took out hte battery and tried only with the cable(just found this advice on the IN, it said the screen will work), but nothing I like my little lap and it always worked fine till today.Well nearly, since some days I could not restart without using CTRL_ALT DEL/Enter

Here is my Desktop Specs:
Windows XP Svc Pack 3
Mainboard :Asus P5KPL-CM
Network Card :Atheros AR8121/AR8113 PCI-E Ethernet Controller
Current Router - LinkSys BEFSR41 (Hardwired, CATV cable)
Static IP - 192.168.1.100, 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.1.1
Problem: I purchased a new GB router, Dlink DIR825, wireless and 4 ports, and cannot connect to it to set it up. I need to get into it to change its IP address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 and to make a few other changes. I have 6 different ethernet cables, all of which work with my desktop as well as my laptop. I can get into the new Dlink router just fine with my laptop so it is not a bad port on the new Dlink. The cables work with my existing router and my new router using my laptop so it isn't a cable problem. My internet connection is Hughesnet (DISH) which uses the 192.168.0.1 address, the same as the new router. So here is what I have tried:
1. Powered down Hughes router, new router, and old router.
2. Removed cable from Hughes router to old Linksys.
3. Changed static IP on desktop from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.0.50 and Gateway to 192.168.0.1.
4. Rebooted
5. Connected ethernet cable from desktop to Port 1 on new router.
6. Powered up new router.
7. Brought up Browser and entered the 192.168.0.1. Nothing happens. The Port light on the new switch shows the connection properly and the other lights are on properly, except for the Internet light which I haven't hooked up yet.
The above does not work so I powered down everything and then:
1. Connected the cable from the Hughes internet modem to the Internet port on the new modem.
2. Powered up Hughes modem and waited for all lights to come on.
3. Then powered up new router and waited for all lights to come on. This time the Internet light came on like it should.
4. Powered up my desktop.
5. Brought up Browser and entered the 192.168.0.1. Nothing happens. I expected this since there would be a conflict with the 2 modems having same IP.
Next I tried to basically set my desktop to use DHCP and removed the cable from the Hughes modem to the new router. Powered down everything then brought them up one at a time, Hughes modem, router, and PC. Still not able to connect to the new router.I also used my laptop to set the new router to 192.168.1.1 and reset my static IP to the original 192.168.1.100, 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.1.1. Still nothing and I couldn't even ping the router.

Why should I need a router with a touch screen? Just because, its fancy or just because its bringing a new trend to wireless networking? I wanted to buy the D-link DIR 865 but it became vaporware. Now this came up Almond of Securifi. Dong Ngo of CNet has reviewed it. Does it really make sense to buy a wireless touch screen router, leaving the old trend of traditional routers with web interface?

I have a small home network, which until now has been set up via a Verizon DSL modem/router. Today I added an ASUS wirless router to the network, and that is working just fine. However, I did not think to shut off wireless service from the modem before I switched over. However, now I can't seem to find the IP necessary to access the modem's setup screens. Whereas before I logged in at 192.168.1.1, I get nothing there now. The new router is at 192.168.2.1 and I have not be able to puzzle out any IP that gets me access to the modem settings. Is there way to find that screen, without totally redoing the setup process?

I have the Clear Hub Express (Router/Modem combined) and I am trying to connect a separate Belkin Wireless Router (Model F5D8233-4v1) to allow additional "hard wire" connections. Correct settings required for the Clear Hub Express and any additional information that can instruct me on how to access the Belkin set-up screen if required. The standard 192.168.2.1 is not allowoing access to the Belkin Router.

I have a Cisco ASA and have a client that has a NetScreen 5200 and we are seeing issues on the ASA that show the error [code] We have removed the repaly command form the ASA and wew are still having the issue. The other issue we see when this happens is that we see Fin,Ack sent from both the Rmote End to the Local End as well as from the Local End to the Remote End but it seems that they never arrive either way and then both hosts are sending RST, ACK.

I have a client that has a newer Dell T310 - 8GB - Xeon 2.4, SBS 2011. Just went to a clients to move the office from one building to the other, couldn't log into the server so went to the terminal and saw the machine wasn't responsive in windows - users still able to access files and Quickbooks. I had to force shut down the machine. Now I fire it up, it gets to the login screen, and when I log in it gets stuck on the welcome screen. I can get into safe mode, i do not see any errors in event viewer that jump out. Hard drive lights are blicking like crazy at the welcome screen. But still can't get into it, and then the machine seems to lock up.

About three(3) months ago, I attempted to set up a wired network between a laptop running w-7 and a desktop with w-xp, sp3. Shortly afterwards, I started getting blue screens with error messages and codes about device confilcts. After disconecting the laptop, I still have the problem sometimes. I looked into the system, and found twenty-seven(27) items with yellow exclamation marks on them. Should I delete them or just disable them?

My Vaio's screen is dead due to a dead graphic card (long/short/short beeps when starting up). But i can't easily remove the harddisks and connect them through an external USB-SATA because they are in raid 0 configuration..The laptop still works (i hear the windows 7-soundlogo) but I can't get access to it since i cannot see what i am doing for installing eg VNC or Remote Desktop software. Command line commands? try portable VNC installations? remove harddisks and bring them to a recovery centre?

I've recently noticed that i get a large drop in download speed when i either play a game or watch a video on full screen. I first noticed it when using a program called jDownloader. I contacted the developer and he told me to increase the priority of the task "javaw.exe". This did not solve the problem. The problem also occurs during any form of downloading (Steam or browsers. I haven't tested torrents yet.)

I have several associates that I am supporting who are working at a customer site. Two of those associates have recently started experiencing BSoD shortly after connecting to the customers network using the AnyConnect client v2.4.1012. I do not know for sure that AnyConnect is causing the problem, or is conflicting with something resulting in the blue screen, but in searching it appears it may be. The two associates having the problem also have the AT&T Global Dialer client installed on their assigned computer, and I have seen this has been a problem in the past with v2.2, though this was supposedly resolved. The other curious thing is that this just started happening, though they have been using the client for several months now, and the AT&T client has been installed the entire time.
All computers are XP SP3, Windows firewall disabled, McAfee 8.7.0i, and Verizon VZ Connect. The only computers with this problem are the ones with the AT&T dialer, and like I said, this just started to happen after several months without an issue.I would really like to avoid removing the AT&T client as they need that to connect to a different customer's network.

Ive set my laptop to stay on when the lid is closed. Now when i do close the lid, the touchpad reacts to the screen and starts doing all sorts of crazy things, zooming in and out, moving the taskbar around, opening things and deleting things.Ive resorted having to place a cloths or kleenex folded in half over the touchpad when i close the lid. ive also disabled the touch and used a mouse and no problems. I have updated the drivers and dell toucpad, ive even uninstalled everything and installed the synaptic drivers and touchpad software.. Yet another problem with the l521x.How can i fix this? maybe the touchpad is defective and has to be replaced?
