I am trying to change the name of my wireless network but when I go to the 192.168.1.1 and type in my password, it just goes to a blank screen. I've accessed my router a lot of times before this way. It is a lisksys router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running a new RV042 with the latest firmware (4.1.1.01). I set it up about 2 weeks ago and have been running it without an issue. Today I tried to go in to the web utility to make some changes. I was prompted for the userid/password, which it appeared to accept (if I typed in the wrong ones it rejected it), and then the screen went blank (normally I would get the status screen now.) Instead the screen I get is the light blue of the log-in screen, but there is nothing on it. The router has switched to the page https://192.168.1.1/home.htm I have tried different browsers and accessing it from different computers - the situation is always the same. I have power cycled the router, and there is no change. I suspect the next step is a manual reset to factory defaults - but of course I would rather not (as I didn't save all my settings of course!)

I am using Windows 8 and my router is a Linksys E2500, in the Network folder it shows no icon and also I get a error when I right click the device and choose "Network Map" (from what I can tell this feature has been removed from Windows 8.) Both these problems are cause by an outdated Windows 7 driver on the Microsoft Update Catalog (I have Windows 8 configured to download updates/drivers automatically, that's why this installs)The reason there is no icon is because of these entries in the driver INF

Cannot start my lap/Toshiba NB205-N311/W . Only: Toshoiba Innovation comes up and then black screen , no way to log in, the hard disk lamp flashes once very shortly that's it. I tried CTRL-ALT-DEL, the same as above discribed. Nothing works no F2, F8, the hard drive just won't start. I even took out hte battery and tried only with the cable(just found this advice on the IN, it said the screen will work), but nothing I like my little lap and it always worked fine till today.Well nearly, since some days I could not restart without using CTRL_ALT DEL/Enter

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was setting a static IPs for my PCs, and for the Preferred and Alternate DNS Server addresses I looked on my router's Device Information page. It had "Primary DNS Server: 121.98.0.1", but "Secondary DNS Server:" is reported as "0.0.0.0". Router is a DIR-655:
I looked on my ISP's website and they have "121.98.0.2" listed as the Secondary Name Server/DNS:
Why does the router not report that? Is there something wrong? Should I still set 121.98.0.2 as the Alternate DNS Server in Windows?
EDIT: BTW, my modem reports both primary and secondary DNS servers on it's info page.
I recently installed LMS 4.1 on a freshly installed W2k8R2 server, and untill last week I had no problems logging on. For some reason, I'm now getting a blank page after entering my credentials. Hardware Version: A1 Firmware Version : 1.01NA
go to SETUP -> "NETWORK SETTINGS"
change "Router IP Address" to 192.168.73.1
change "DHCP IP Address Range" to: 192.168.73.10 : 192.168.73.200
Save Changes Wait for reboot. change my client system's local IP address... so that I can reconnect. direct web browser to http://192.168.73.1/
seen: login page has a select-box for a userid, but no text inside. there is no prompt to ask me to login. I press enter (or whatever... I login). every form interface on all web pages looked at have no labels on text boxes.
I did a view source... and used web-dev tools to look at the page. it looks like the apparent js function, show_words(), is not defined.
change ip address and dhcp address range back to default save changes. wait for reboot. reverse changes to local system things are back to normal. login page has useful text. after logging in, there is something to read.
looking at source again. I see, now, that the js function "show_words" is defined in a file called public.js.
I have a WAP321 here, which is running at firmware version 1.0.3.4. The E-Mail Alert setup works for me, meaing I receive notification E-Mails from the Access Point. I am wondering however, why those E-Mails are blank, meaning, I only receive header information (to, from, date, subject) but no body content. I was expecting to receive the error message as content of the E-Mail Alert.

View 6 Replies View RelatedBEFSR81 v3.1 Current firmware 2.51.4 build 600 (09-4-2009)The Web Admin pages become dysfunctional after the router has been up 3-4 days displaying only a blank white page. Viewing the page source shows that the HTML is incomplete.I am not sure of the exact firmware version where this problem originates, I noticed it after flashing to 2.51.4 build 400 but cannot remember which version was running before the update. Just flashed to 2.51.4 build 600 last week hoping the new version had corrected the problem. Still broken. The router remains completely functional but the Web interface does not work correctly after 3-4 days.I have tried re-flashing the firmware and have gone as far as resetting the router both before and after the flash, even tried 30/30/30 resets but the problem with the Web interface remains.Re-booting the router every 3 days is not the best “solution” as my network is running DHCP. I would rather not fall back to older firmware as ver 2.51.4 build 400 corrected the DHCP errors on my Windows machines and decreased the initial connection time when machines boot up. I have read in this and other forums where others are having the same problem with this router/firmware but have been unable to find a working solution which leads me to believe the actual problem resides in the later firmware builds.

I've been searching high and low for a "blank" stencil to fill in module and WIC areas of a 2821 router that I'm diagraming. Where I can get a hold of something that will work? It seems that Cisco is somewhat lax lately on their visio stencil offerings.

Windows XP Svc Pack 3
Mainboard :Asus P5KPL-CM
Network Card :Atheros AR8121/AR8113 PCI-E Ethernet Controller
Current Router - LinkSys BEFSR41 (Hardwired, CATV cable)
Static IP - 192.168.1.100, 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.1.1
Problem: I purchased a new GB router, Dlink DIR825, wireless and 4 ports, and cannot connect to it to set it up. I need to get into it to change its IP address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 and to make a few other changes. I have 6 different ethernet cables, all of which work with my desktop as well as my laptop. I can get into the new Dlink router just fine with my laptop so it is not a bad port on the new Dlink. The cables work with my existing router and my new router using my laptop so it isn't a cable problem. My internet connection is Hughesnet (DISH) which uses the 192.168.0.1 address, the same as the new router. So here is what I have tried:
1. Powered down Hughes router, new router, and old router.
2. Removed cable from Hughes router to old Linksys.
3. Changed static IP on desktop from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.0.50 and Gateway to 192.168.0.1.
4. Rebooted
5. Connected ethernet cable from desktop to Port 1 on new router.
6. Powered up new router.
7. Brought up Browser and entered the 192.168.0.1. Nothing happens. The Port light on the new switch shows the connection properly and the other lights are on properly, except for the Internet light which I haven't hooked up yet.
The above does not work so I powered down everything and then:
1. Connected the cable from the Hughes internet modem to the Internet port on the new modem.
2. Powered up Hughes modem and waited for all lights to come on.
3. Then powered up new router and waited for all lights to come on. This time the Internet light came on like it should.
4. Powered up my desktop.
5. Brought up Browser and entered the 192.168.0.1. Nothing happens. I expected this since there would be a conflict with the 2 modems having same IP.
Next I tried to basically set my desktop to use DHCP and removed the cable from the Hughes modem to the new router. Powered down everything then brought them up one at a time, Hughes modem, router, and PC. Still not able to connect to the new router.I also used my laptop to set the new router to 192.168.1.1 and reset my static IP to the original 192.168.1.100, 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.1.1. Still nothing and I couldn't even ping the router.
