Everytime I disable SSID Broadcasting 2 extra wireless connections appear available connections list. (See wirelessconnections.jpg) One is blank and one is labeled Other Network. They disappear when I enable SSID Broadcasting. I am not sure why this is happening.

The creation of the user account is working good, the replication is done on the both WLCs, but on one of my WLC the guest user account is deleted after one hour(around).On the second WLC, the same user account remains during all its life time.In attachment a screen shot of the advanced parameter of the guest user.You can see that the user was created on the both WLC but is only active on one ... and unfortunately the wrong because the AP is associated with the other WLC.

I have a very generous neighgbour and unfortunately his wifi only reaches my computer, and not my phone. I have done the following with a Vista machine:
Connect to wireless network > connect router to computer via ethernet cable > Viola, hotspot!
However, in Win7 is this possible? It sees the router as "unidentified public network" and I can't change it. Any registry setting I can change to set the default network connection to "home"?
I have a 4g hotspot with no places to connect a cable, etc. I wanted to know if and how i can get a Netgear WGR514 router to pick up the 4G signal. I need this router because I have some other equipment that i need to connect that does not accept wireless signals.
View 1 Replies View Relatedim moving into an apartment that provides internet via a wireless hotspot (is PW protected and has WPA2 protection). I would like to be able to connect a router to it and then wire my printer, Media server and Roku device to my router.im guessing I will have to somehow bridge my router to the wireless hotspot. I would like the ability to then broadcast my own wireless network from my router, and have my mobile devices connect only to my router, which is in turn connected to the internet via the hotspot.can use the mfg firmware or be open source firmware, doesnt matter to me.I currently have a Netgear WNDR3700 and a spare WRT54G with DDWRT.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a WiFi router which I'd now like to connect through my Android phone's 3g hotspot. The router is a Trendnet TEW-691GR. The phone: an old Motorola Milestone.
The reason I'm attempting this is the ADSL (or other wireless) in the area is simply tooooooo slooooowww to even consider. I'm lucky to get 40kb/s through the ADSL, but linking through the phone's hotspot allows in excess of 2MB/s - price wise it's not much of a difference. So I thought: "Why not simply use my phone's connection (seeing as I'm paying for it already - uncapped as well), and drop the ADSL contract?"
Only: the router was fine for the ADSL modem. But I'm failing to see how to connect it to the hotspot. I can connect the phone to the router quite easily. But if the hotspot is turned on the connection needs to go the other way round - doesn't it?
Anyhow most of the PC's & Laptops have a wireless connection, so I can directly connect to the hotspot from each of these. This now causes further issues: One of the PCs (I use it as a pseudo server) only has a LAN connection to the router. Also if a laptop is connected to the hotspot it cannot be connected to the router - thus it's incapable of seeing the shares on the "server".
I was thinking of attempting the router's WDS setup, but it requires the MAC address of the other wireless device(s). And for the love of Pete I cannot find the phone's MAC while its hotspot is turned on (simply says MAC address unavailable on the phone). I can find it when the hotspot is off, and have tried using that MAC, then turn the hotspot on and reboot the router - but still it doesn't connect to the hotspot.
I have been putting up with rubbish wireless signal down one end of my house now for quite some time. So I thought I have a spare wireless router and I could put it down there but I am sure ts not as easy as just plugging it and away you go.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor reasons that are slowly pushing me over the edge of insanity, I have to reset this dumb router!!
I press the stupid little button on the back of it, the lights go out, one amber one comes on etc. etc. but when I go to 192.168.0.1, everything is still the same!!
Like the passwords are still there and nothing has changed! I thought resetting it was supposed to wipe all that stuff out so you could start from scratch? Also pulled the power cord in and out a zillion times but no way it will reset!
As an aside, I am having no end of problems getting my iPads (2) and iPhones (2) to connect to the wireless network! The "Network Discovery" button will not stay checked and though I have done all the Googling and been into Services to start things running, no way it is going to work!
But I digress, how do I get this fool of a router to reset properly?
I have a dlink router. Dir615 I believe. After installing hotspot Shield on my desktop, I can no longer connect to my router from my laptop, which I did not even install Hotspot shield in. when trying to connect, nothing happens. the wireless icon on the taskbar does not show that its trying to connect.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have purchased a Dlink DWR 131 today. I did configure it as per the instructions. Initially my iPhone was able to detect the wireless network. Then I switched off the device and turned it on later and it stopped working. It is not damaged for sure, since http://192.168.0.1/ is still accessible from my laptop and I am able to connect to internet through LAN cable. But the wireless network is not working. Even my laptop doesn't detect the network neither does my iPhone. I suspect this to be some configuration issue. I have tried using different SSIDs. Also, MAC filter is disabled. I also tried using different wireless channels. I even did reset the router but no luck.

But even without it I get disconnected several times per day.I need to be able to stay online and for some certain programs to run, if they get disconnected I will have to reconnect manually and I can't do this if I am not near my computer.I think the problem is specific to my laptop. Most of the time I stay online ok, except for the lapses I've mentioned. I asked someone else in our house if they have been getting disconnected and they say they haven't. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Dlink wireless router. Previously I had a Belkin router. The new one was said to have stronger signal. I am not able to connect via wireless to the router from a PC with Windows Vista. It works fine when I use a cable. Then I am able to connect to Internet via the router. Also, I am able to print on a wireless printer. It is also possible to use Internet from an Ipad with wifi.
The Belkin router had a different network, 192.168.2....When the cable is connected I can ping 192.168.0.1 but not when I remove the cable. In Windows Vista the connection has status "connected". When the cable is connected, the ipconfig /all is printed as below. It is a Swedish version. Some translated words:
Trdls = Wireless
Ja = Yes
Nej = No
Frnkopplad = Disconnected
[code]...
This is an ongoing problem and I am wondering if a firmware update is called for. We have had the router for some time and to the best of my knowledge nothing has been done to fix the problem except the old "unplug for 10 seconds" routine.There are now four users on the home network with multiple devices.
