Linksys Wireless Router :: Can't Connect To 192.168.1.1 Or Cisco Connect

Feb 25, 2011

I just bought the e1000 router today and I'm already having trouble. I got it setup the first time and all my computers set up with it and it works fine for internet. Everything is snappy and responsive and I don't have any of the problems I did with my old belkin. However, I am unable to connect to the router using cisco connect or the web interface. I need to forward ports, configure wireless security, etc etc. All I did was disable the guest account through cisco connect, and then when the software just sat there doing nothing with the spinning circle in the middle, I opened task manager and killed the process to get it to go away. Now I can't connect using either cisco connect or the web interface.

Laptop Cannot Connect To Wireless But Can Connect As Wired?

Nov 19, 2011

Recently I installed connectify because my uni flat only had one wired outlet, and I wanted to use my xbox at the same time. It worked perfectly, but when I returned home I found my laptop could no longer connect to the home network, it just says it cannot connect, but all the over devices in the house work. My laptop can still connect to the internet via an ethernet cable but this isnt practical at home. I've uninstalled the connectify program, and tried my best to make sure I got rid of all the stuff it's done, but still my problem persists

Connect PC To Wireless AP Directly To Connect To LAN

Mar 12, 2012

I have just built a PC desktop and do not think it has the wireless built-in on the motherboard. I'd like to connect to the local network wirelessly. I know that the easiest answer to this is to get a wireless PCI card. But can I ask that in order to be able to access to the LAN wirelessly, I could plug my PC directly into the wireless access point TP-Link.

Can't Connect Via LAN But Can Connect Via Wireless On Modem

Whenever I plug in the cable, my computer tells me that the LAN connection is connected, but I can't open a web page. I tried connecting the cable onto another laptop and it worked, so I don't know what's up with the LAN connection on mine.

Can't Connect To Wireless From XP But Can Connect From MAC?

Sep 19, 2011

I have a new broadband connection and I was kinda facing problems connecting wirelessly with my router. So I did go to my router page and then cloned my MAC book's mac id, and it worked fine. I'm able to connect to the internet wirelessly. However, I can't connect to internet from an Windows XP lappy. I have removed, re-added the network, the network is very much identified but the laptop doesn't wanna connect to the internet wirelessly. Both the laptops MAC Book pro and Dell(the one which has XP loaded) were able to connect without any problem in the previous ISP's case but XP doesn't wanna connect to with the new ISP.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT610N 5ghz Xbox 360 Wireless N Adapter Won't Connect

Aug 12, 2011

WRT610v2 running latest firmware.
xbox 360 sees both the 2.4 network (ssid = network1) and the 5.0 network (ssid network2) when it does its scan.

Initially, xbox showed network strength for 2.4 network at 3 out of 4 bars and 5.0 network at 1 out of 4 bars. Connects to 2.4 network just fine, Won't pull an ip address and reports "Not connected" when I select the 5.0 network.

I tweaked the wireless settings per some suggestions I found in this forum and now it shows the 5.0 network at 4 out of 4 bars signal strength. Also turned security on and off and xbox 360 reported the changes in security on the 5.0 network. So the xbox 360 is definitely seening the 5.0 network. and can tell if it is running WPA2 or not. If it can see the 5.0 network and recognizes what security and network type (infrastructure) is set, would would stop it from connecting to the WRT610n router and getting an IP address? No mac filters or firewalls are set and, again, connects just fine and gets an ip address if I select the 2.4 (network1 ssid) instead.

Wireless :: Cannot Connect Wireless To Shared Printer?

Apr 7, 2012

I have a Canon iP3600 printer plugged in to a desktop computer, running Windows XP.The printer is set up to be shared and several devices around the house are connected to it, via WiFi, including my old Acer laptop. The Acer is running Windows Vista and happily prints remotely, provided the XP desktop is on, of course. However, my Acer is now dying and I've replaced it with a Dell laptop, running Windows 7. I've set the new Dell up to use the printer directly, via the USB cable. However, when I try to connect the Dell remotely, via wifi, when I use the 'Add printer' facility I've used a hundred times before, when I do it on this computer, the wizard reports it cannot find a driver. I also get this problem on our eMachines laptop, running Vista, and another desktop machine also running Vista.

However, an HP laptop running Windows 7 upgrade, several Android phones, games machines etc. can all print remotely, quite happily. It doesn't appear to be anything to do with the signal - I've tried practically sitting on top of the printer, and practically sitting on top of the Router, with no problems. And attempting to direct the 'Add printer' wizard to another driver doesn't seem to work either. It just seems a bit thick. "Can't see printer driver!" How about the one under your flippin' computer eyes then? No? It's not that going downstairs and plugging in the printer USB is inconvenient. Plus it results in my kids fighting to use the XP to do their homework. The wifi is a BT Business Broadband ADSL network. The router is the BT one supplied.

Connect A 2nd Wireless Router To A Wireless Network?

Sep 20, 2012

Im not trying to do this to extend the wireless range or anything like that, I just want to connect my 2nd wireless router to the network and use it to create a wired network in a different room.I currently have a wireless network operating using a Dlink DSL2740B with absolutely no probs and I get great reception and speeds throughout my entire apartment which I am surprised about due to its size. I have an Xbox 360 in my bedroom which I use for Xbox Live fairly regularly but it does not connect wirelessly (Old white model). At the moment whenever I want to play I am having to connect my laptop to the wireless, plug the Xbox in to the laptop with an ethernet cable and create a network bridge in between the two. I dont really get any problems with lag or connectivity this way Im just finding it to be a pain in the ass connecting it like this all the time.

I also have at home sitting brand new in a box a Netgear DVG1000 wireless 4 port modem router and wanted to know if it is possible to use the wireless feature of this modem to instead of broadcast a wireless network, connect to my current one so I can use the ethernet ports to create a wired network in my bedroom.Personally I would rather just buy a long enough ethernet cable and run it through the apartment but I live with chick who would freak out at a network cable being left running through the place for long periods of time.
