I connect to my RVS4000 VPN router using QuickVPN. Very useful.

Sometimes I am not near my laptop and need to check data.

Is there a QuickVPN or compatible client for a BlackBerry Torch 9850, even if it's only functional when connected to WiFi?

Cisco Routers :: RVS4000 - VPN Client And QuickVPN On Same Windows PC

Sep 21, 2011

Is there a safe way to use the Cisco VPN Client (V5.x) and Cisco Quick VPN (V1.4.1.2) on the same Windows PC?  I need to access my office RVS4000 and my customer's PIX 506 from the same laptop (but not at the same time).

Perhaps I should be asking "Is there a single Windows VPN client that works with both the Cisco RVS4000 and Cisco PIX 506? I have seen these questions asked on various forums but have yet to see a definitive answer.

Cisco VPN :: RVS4000 Router VLAN Using QuickVPN?

Apr 18, 2010

I'm trying to connect through a VPN to RVS4000 router that I have VLAN'ed into two seperate networks 192.168.1.x (default) and 192.168.77.x. When i connect with the QuickVPN Client, I have no problems seeing devices on the 192.168.1.x network but i can't see the 192.168.77.x devices; so i'm assuming that the QuickVPN client software puts me on the default network and not the "77" network. Thing is, i only want to VPN into the "77" network and not the 192.168.1.x network.

Will QuickVPN allow me to do this? If not how do I VPN into the 192.168.77.x network?

Linksys Wired Router :: Can't Connect To LAN Using RVS4000

Dec 20, 2008

I just installed an RVS4000 router for a SOHO. I have no problem getting out to the internet so access from LAN -> WAN is working fine. The problem is with VPN access from the WAN.I created a VPN account and set up QuickVPN on a PC making sure I imported the certificate. I can connect to the router with no problem and I can even connect to the routers web admin page. But that's where it ends. I cannot connect in any way, shape, or form to PCs on the LAN through the VPN. I can't even ping them.Am I missing something in the setup of the router?

This is the only reason I bought this router as the old one was working fine. How to fix getting through the router to connect to the computers on the LAN.

Linksys Wired Router :: RVS4000 Keeps Disconnecting?

Feb 11, 2011

after using BEFSR41 for a long time without any problems, I decided to buy a new router RVS4000 to be able to have gigabit connections.

The problem is when I download a youtube video or I use VPN or even a desktop remote access, it always disconnect. I've seen many and many posts on this forum of people having this problem, I decided to try what you suggested to them:

- Changed the MTU to 1492
- Disabled IPS
- Disabled Firewall
- A couple of other things
- I already have the latest firmware

... and i've done some other tests in my side but nothing worked so far, just like for those who had this problem. I strongly think it's a problem on the router and not a problem from the user.

Linksys Wired Router :: RVS4000 Does Not Renew DHCP On WAN

Jan 24, 2011

I have an RVS4000 located at my office.  A user of mine also has one at their house.  We have created an IPSec Tunnel between the 2 of them and have them successfully communicating between the 2 networks with no problem.

The problem I have is if I make a change on their end and the router needs to reboot to apply the changes, the WAN port never renews it's DHCP address.  The end user must unplug the unit, plug it back in and then the system comes back up with the correct WAN DHCP address, and the tunnel is connected automatically.

I beleive they have the newest firmware (2.0.0.3) but I cannot confirm that right now as the unit is down.  I bought the 2 of them at the same time - my unit at the office has the 2.0.0.3 firmware so I am assuming the users does as well.

I have PPTP passthrough on and have also created a ACL entry for PPTP traffic. I've seen many posts on this topic over several years with no solutions, and I do have the latest firmware (Version:V1.3.3.5). This is also definetely router related as I have absolutley no problem connecting when I point directly to the VPN server by internal IP address.

Ports 1 and 2 go to family A, and Ports 3 and 4 go to family B.Family A and B have separate routers which are both set to "access point mode". Family A has an ASUS RT-N66U router while family B has a dlink DIR-615. The asus has an "access point mode" while the dlink needs to be set up manually to achieve this. The dlink must also have a static IP adress. The asus can receive ip adress.

Linksys Wired Router :: Using RVS4000 V2 For Internet And VLANs

Mar 10, 2013

I am trying to configure my RVS4000 to create my church's small network.  I want to connect my internet DSL router on the WAN port and also segment my network with VLANs on the 4 LAN ports.  I have port 4 connected to a wireless access point which is in VLAN1 for an open wireless network for any church member to access the internet through.  I have a church server, printer and second access point on ports 1-3 in VLAN 34.  All ports are untagged.  I want the devices on VLAN34 which need confidentiality to be secure from the devices connecting to the internet from VLAN1 for open access but both VLANs need access to the internet..

My open wireless AP in VLAN1 has access to the internet on the WAN port.None of my devices in VLAN34 have access to the internet.  I have tried using inter-VLAN routing but that made operation worse so I disabled it.

Cisco Routers :: QuickVPN In Windows 7 Not Connecting To RVS4000

Oct 11, 2011

When I use QuickVPN under XP, I connect to my RVS4000 without problems.  When I switch to new computer running Windows 7 and V4.2.1 QuickVPN I can get all the way to Verifying Network.   Then I get the message that: "The remote gateway is not responding.  Do you want to wait?"  - repeatedly.  The icon in the tool bar remains with a red slash and I am unable to ping devices on the lan side of the router.  However, when I check the VPN Summary on the router, I see that it thinks I'm connected.  When I check the VPN log I see that I am not:

Oct 12 10:27:53 - Configuration changed!
Oct 12 10:28:33 - Configuration changed!
Oct 12 10:28:34 - [VPN Log]: added connection description "ValR_rw_rw"

[Code]....

I've disabled MS Security Essentials and made sure the Firewall is on.  IPSec  Policy Agent and IKE and AuthIP IPSec Keying Modules services are both started.  I've created a rule to allow QuickVPN throught the firwall in and out and a rule to let traffic on 443 and 60443 UDP and TCP through the Firewall.

Cisco VPN :: RVS4000 / QuickVPN Certificate Doesn't Exist

Jul 26, 2011

I have created a VPN client account on my RVS4000 router. I have installed Quick VPN on my laptop in the default directory -- Program Files (x86) / Cisco Small Business / Quick VPN Client

I have generated and exported a certificate -- RVS4000_Client.pem -- and placed that in the  Program Files (x86) / Cisco Small Business / Quick VPN Client directory. When I attempt to connect using the Quick VPN client, I get the warning "Server's certificate doesn't exist on your local computer."

If I ignore the message I can log in, and ping resources inside the network and log into the router. However, I cannot mount any drives and the router shows that no VPN tunnels exist. I've read several posts here and elsewhere and can't seem to see where I've gone wrong.

Cisco VPN :: SA520W Router - How To Setup QuickVPN Client

Mar 26, 2011

I have a Cisco SA520W router and needs to set up VPN. Du to major problems with the SSL VPN Client and windows 7, I had to let it go and try a different approach.

That was the QuickVPN client, but as it turs out, it simply impossible from reading the user manual to understand just how I have to set thing up. For instance, the VPN Wizard tells you to enter a preshared key. But in the QuickVPN Client, where do I enter the key?

And shall the "Enable Cisco VPN Client" be ticket off, I assumed yes, but seriously it is impossible to know.

Then in the VPN Wizard again, in the Remote & Local WAN Adress, what shall use FQDN or IP Address. The if FQDN, what shall a enter, the domain name for the router, whats the point in that? The domain name of the VPN Client, seriously, what's the point in that? I would assume that 99% of the VPN Client does NOT have a domain name. Then, if IP address, am I supposed to know the IP address of the client? Same with the "Secure Connection Remote Accessibility", what am I supposed to enter. The IP address which the Quick VPN Client network adapter shall have?

Cisco Routers :: Setup QuickVPN To RVS4000 With Windows 7 (64bit)?

Sep 13, 2011

I have a home network with an Actiontec Q1000 providing me 20 meg down and 5 meg up speeds.  The DSL modem supports DHCP, DMZ, port forwarding, application forwarding, filtering, etc.  I have an existing network 192.168.0.x that uses a combination of DHCP and static IP addresses for printers, scanners, and servers.I just purchased a RVS4000 and configured its LAN port to accept a DHCP address.  It received the .26 address.  I set up application and port forwarding so all VPN traffic goes to this address.  I also put the router in the DMZ and turned off all firewalls. On the LAN side of the RVS4000 I use the 192.168.1.x address and have the 4000 provide DHCP addresses.  I have a PC connected to the LAN port and it has the address of 1.100.  I am able to use TeamViewer to connect to this through the internet and I can also access the devices on the Actiontec network from the PC connected to the 4000.I set up the VPN as best I could while going through appendix B of the admin guide.  When I am at a remote location and use the QuickVPN client to access the 4000 I get the message, "The remote gateway is not responding.  Do you want to wait?'.  When I look at the log everything looks good except I get the following error:

[WARNING]Failed to ping remote VPN Router!

I am unable to get a DHCP address for my remote PC and am unable to ping any device on either network.  What do I have configured wrong that this is not working?I only purchased this so I can use the VPN.  Is the VPN established on the Actiontec LAN or on the RVS4000 LAN side?  I am obviously connecting to the 4000 but am just not getting an address so I can not use my home office network for all my communications.

Cisco Routers :: Quickvpn / Client To Gateway Vpn Rv042 Can Only Ping Router?

Jan 27, 2012

I am setting up remote access using an RV042 router.  Using quickvpn or a client-to gateway vpn and shrewsoft client,  I can only access/ping the LAN side of the remote router and one machine on the remote network.  The PPTP server and native Windows 7 connection provide access to all machines on the remote network.I have 2 possible reasons for this and would like to find the real reason:

1) The remote RV042 is behind another router, and that router restricts access other than the PPTP traffic.

2)  The VPN tunnels other than PPTP only allow access to the remote LAN side of the router and remote machines that have the remote router defined as their gateway in the IP configuration.
