Linksys Wireless Router :: All 3 AE2500s Fail On A Single Computer?
Dec 4, 2012
I purchased 3 AE2500s to connect 3 machines in my house.2 of the machines it works great. However on the 3rd machine, when I start browsing around (2.4Ghz or 5Ghz), things start going wonky and then the device basically loses connection, and the LED indicator starts flashing consistently indefinitely (with no connection).Removing and reconnecting the USB device will allow me to reconnect to my network and do stuff until it happens again. Speedtests on speedtest.net ALWAYS fail on upload test, I lose connection then.Streaming a movie across the network immediately causes this (exclamation mark on network icon) Regular browsing causes it also Checking event logs, I get the following error wlan extensibility module has stopped bcmihvsrv.dll The router is an E4200 I have tested all 3 AE2500s on this single machine, and they all do the same thing.Out of the 3 machines ONLY the one that doesn't work is Windows 7 32bit, the other 2 that do work are Windows 7 64bit Considering the event log is complaining about bcmihvsrv.dll, I know the 64bit version uses bcmihvsrv64.dll, could it be a bug in the 32bit drivers?I have attempted at trying different slots, uninstalling the drivers, removing and disabling any other network components in this single machine, lowering the power output in the advanced options, tried 2.4ghz and 5ghz, tried Wireless G only and then Wireless N only...
I have recently changed the name of my network, as well as the password for the network. All of my devices (Android tablet, iPod touch, Macbook Pro, Laptop running XP, Xbox) are connecting fine except one desktop running Windows Vista. This computer is giving my a local connection, but says it is not connected to the internet. When I try to access the router's control panel from this computer, it says that it cannot connect. The router is a Linksys WRT160N with the encryption type set to WPA2 Personal. The computer is connected to the local area network, but says the router is not connected to the internet. It is able to ping the router, and is sending and receiving packets. Here are all the network settings for this computer, currently (connected to the computer via Ethernet from wireless router): [code]
It should be known that this is not MY specific issue, it's a friend's issue... but I am posting it for him as I know nothing about networking. Don't worry though, anything you post here I will relay for him to do.Is this a wired or wireless connection issue?
Wireless
How to run and post an ipconfig /all output of the computer(s) in question for review. Here it is:

So here's the deal, my friend has horrible down speed, usually less than 1MB/s according to Speedtest.net, sometimes it hits 2MB/s. However, his brother's in the house have at least 17MB/s, which I can assume is their actual speed that my friend should have... however, he specifically does not.He had a very old wireless card that was installed on his motherboard (desktop PC) that I assumed was the issue upon him first telling me, and from the issues I was personally able to see. For example, he'd constantly disconnect... his internet would just die for him specifically, and then come back. His brother's never lost internet when he did.
After that, I figured his very old wireless card that was installed was just kicking the bucket, so I instructed him to replace it. He went out and bought a new wireless USB adapter, and then uninstalled the network card.Even after all of this, his internet is still poor in terms of down speed. HOWEVER, rather than his internet dying for a few minutes at a time every so often, his internet "stays connected" if that makes sense? For example, we'll be on Skype in a conference call, and his internet will be loading pages very slowly, and Skype will constantly show that it's going from "green - online" to "gray circle - connecting". During this, he's still in Skype, but it's very poor quality from him speaking, and laggy as well.
im moving over to VDSL.But now i cant open any ports on the E4200 no mather what i do.It worked with the previous modem, but now i cant open anything. all the ports seems to be closes, 80, 21 etc, and the ports i manually forrward. The previous modem was a ZyXEL P-2602HWT-F3, and the new one is a ZyXEL P-2812HNU-F3.If i connect directly into the ZyXEL P-2812HNU-F3, every ports seems to be open, port 80 is open, port 21 is open, but not on the E4200, and yes, i have tried open the FTP ports.I have tried the 30/30/30 reset on the E4200.
I can't get utube videos when I'm going through the router. I can get them if I'm on the modem only. The same applies to long PDFs, software updates, long virus definition updates, videos in general and graphics heavy websites. It just slows down eventually to a standstill and the download fails. As stated when the router is not connected the above items pop up or download reasonably quickly through the modem. We have moderate speed DSL.
I just bought a Linksys EA6500 (AC 1750). Now after a week, seems to stop rresponding at times and I am get 5+ MAC Addresses from 1 IP address. I have only one NIC installed and it is configured to have a static IP.
See attached screen capture. ( Server-PC, IP: 192.168.1.130)
How to forward a single port to a different port to a specific computer for the WRV210 router?
I would like to forward port 10100 to port 25 to my mail server. There are times when our people are at a hotel and they block port 25 and I have done this in the past on a BEFSR11 and BEFSR41 router. There does not seem to be a Single Port Forwarding setup page and the Port Forwarding setup page only allows you to forward a range to a specific computer, it does not give you a different port you can assign an incoming port to.
I have the most current firmware revision, 2.0.0.11, and Hardware Version WRTR-221G_V01.
I tried searching through the threads but didn't see anything on this. Recently bought the E4200 so that when guests come by they can use a separate network instead of mine. I have guest network set up for one user but I am able to connect more than one computer to the guest network.
At the E4200 there is a limit of (free to make) 15 Single port forwarding and 15 port range forwarding to fill in.I get as suggestion that I must give up a total range of ports where all the ports I use where in.But for security reasons I will not do that.
I did read the thread entitled ''WRT160N Can't save settings'', but I believe this might be different. My router is actually communicating with my computer (physically plugged in), since I can save all other settings EXCEPT the port-fowarding ones.I am trying to save settings for a gaming application in the Single Port Forwarding section of my router settings. After clicking both ''save settings'' and ''continue'', it simply returns to the Single Port Forwarding section, except everything is blank, as though nothing was saved.
Here are my specs:
WRT160Nv1 Firmware Version: v3.0.03
Here are the steps I have already undertaken:
1- Erase browser cache and cookies
2- Updated to latest firmware (v3.0.03), 10-second reset button, 20-second power cycle.
Type: WRVS4400N Wireless-N Gigabit Security Router with VPN.I bought it last week. Its single port forwarding has an issue. I can only use that function for a couple or hours. Then the forwarding does not work. I have to reboot the router to make it available again.
i am taking care of computer lab having 30 computer in it .all connected in lan with server.is it possible for me to switch off network or say internet for any single computer.(any software or anything)
i want my computer to make connections to only a single port (53 in this case)......how can i do this? i am using a wireless broadband data card. i am using windows 7 ultimate. is there any way to make such settings in my pc and if so how do i set or make the settings so that my computer will only make connections and also listen to the single port 53?
I have a Ubiquiti radio link between my DSL modem and RV082 router and although the router log states that it is connected to the static ip address of the modem i get and NSD fail and have no connection. if I plug the radio link directly into a computer with the static ip I get a connection but the modem has a problem with it.
I can connect via to E4200 with old laptop via G. Great signal and speed (54mps).No such luck on same machine with AE2500(G adapter disabled). Can't find any but one network(neighbors).CD software can't find adapter.I install the adpter manually using normal xp device discovery steps.Seems like there is quite a few AE2500 issues. Should I ask for RMA return? No point in wasting more time in trying to fix Cisco's tech issue.
We have two Cisco 2960 TT-L switches. I'd like to reduce single points of failure and have dual servers for most tasks. For example, two firewall servers and two web servers. Should one server fail the other will act as a failover.I'd like to extend the redundancy to the switches, and am thinking of connecting one web server to one switch, and one to the other. In the event a switch failed a set of servers would still run, and be able to talk to each other.I'd like to run two VLANs, one for the LAN, and one of the WAN, and connect the two VLANs on each of the switches with the associated VLAN on the other switch.
I am using LINKSYS WRT54GS2 Router. Mostly I use it for connection via Wireless. I am able to connIect to it via WIRELESS more than one Laptop running Win XP and and tablets.I wanted to connect one more laptop with WINDOWS 7 OS to this network. I was able to connect via wireless this laptop ( win 7) , but the other one with xp gets disconnected.
I've looked all over the internet for this and can't find a definate answer. Waited for live chat and got kicked before I got to talk to someone... Just sold my computer and the plan was to buy a newer mac but we've been getting along fine without a computer with just using our iphones. So my question, I see that Cisco has the Connect Express app for the iphone, and I've read about all the features it has like changing settings, router features, etc. But I can't find anything on using the app for the initial set up of the router. I'm currently on an older linksys router (set up before we sold the computer) but it's time for a needed upgrade.
Mistakenly 'removed' a PC from the network. I followed the instructions on the EasyLink Advisor to add a new computer: open the .exe file that contains all the settings onto the new computer. That didn't work. But even if I removed the computer (by mistake) I don't see why when she goes to log in to the wifi account, she can't just type in the password.how to add a new computer to the wifi WRT160Nv3?
I will be setting up a new computer this weekend. I presently have a WRT54G2 wireless-G router and have configured it to an IP address that works with my AT&T(Bellsouth) broadband modem (Westell). When I reconnect it to my new computer, should I first just connect the ethernet cable to the modem as if I don't have a router (like I did for years) and then go into the instructions for setting up the router via the DVD but enter the IP address as I have it working now?
I have been using WRR54GS2 V1 router for some time ( mostly wireless). Connections are mostly unprotected, I was able to connect more than two computers ( both running XP Os ) and mobile phone with Wifi ,
One computer with XP OS will be accessing this network most of the time. After confguring when I connet laptop with Win 7 Os to the network, my other laptop ( the one with XP os ) computer gets disconnected from wireless and can only be connected via Lan cable.
I have new PC with Window 7 and trying to set up E2000 on new computer with original set up CD. States I need go back to my old computer and set up new key and transfer to new computer. I do not have access to old computer. getting set up on new computer?
Just purchased the E900 and set it up yesterday. I was able to connect to my laptop off of my main computer. When I went to setup my wifes computer I get a message from the easy connect that cant connect to the network. Her computer has a Lynskys supper boost wireless adapter on a usb port
I have a WRT54G wireless router ... I want to connect a new laptop through it ... but I need either a network key or a password ... cant locate these ..
My E3000 looses connection whenever any other computer connects whether it is a wired or wireless computer, IPAD, Mac, or anything else we have. It goes on and off any time two have connected and when it works it is very slow once another machine connects. Eventually it makes my network completely shut down.
It constantly disconnecting and wouldn't stay connected for a long period of time, so I tried messing with the settings and it no longer connects to the internet. It tells me that the settings for this router is not compatible for the computer settings. I have reset the router to its factory settings, restarted the computer, restarted the router but nothing changed. I have tried plugging my computer to the router via ethernet cord and typing in 192.168.1.1 in the address field of Internet explorer and nothing comes up. I also forgot the password to the router!
I have a Desktop wired to my WRT120N. With this router being a wirless one, we have other devices (2 laptop and 2 iPads) conected to the internet via WiFi.The thing is, whenever I play an online game (specifically, League of Legends) my ping skyrockets whenever they use the internet. Is there a way for my PC to take priority in bandwidth over theirs? Or at least some way for my game to take priority over theirs?
I currently have a Linksys E1000 installed and working well. I also have the Cisco software installed on 1 computer. I am purchasing a second laptop and want to put the cisco software on it also. How do I go about doing this without going through another full setup procedure? Do I just install software from the cd? If so how is this done without affecting the existing setup?
Can the software be downloaded without doing an actual setup?
I am uable to access my files on the USB Storage Device connected to WRT610. Its configured properly. I can see the drive on my network. When I double click it asks for password which I enter and it takes me to the shared folder. But when I click it it says Not Accessible....You donot have the persmission. FTP works fine.I have noticed that on the disk page in the Shared Folder Area when you click on the Summary, the box with Groups With Access is Empty. Whereas on the FTP area in the same summary it clearly mentions the admin group.I have tried every thing including factory reset, hard reset, using new group, new user name etc..The technician from Linsys even spent an hour on my computer and ultimately he gave up and gave me number to contact technical support.
i recently had to wipe hardrive of my laptop and am having trouble getting hooked back up to my linksys E/1000 , who can i contact about getting password and network name
