Linksys Wireless Router :: E1000 Sometime Shows Webpage Setting Up
Feb 15, 2013
I am a powerbook G4 user, Mac's wireless is good so far.OSX 10.4.11 and when I am using E1000 extender, often the admin page shows up automatically like 192.168.1.1 and asks me to log in and once I log into the admin page, of corse show up the admin page. So, all my other internet pages are gone every time.Only shows the admin page.It does not happen with windows PCs.
A friend of a friend has a business with 8 computers (3 lap tops) and then desktops. He uses Verizon. I have no idea about how to set this up correctly but, would like to try.He got 2 Linksys routers and asked if I could get them to work on his network. I said I'd try.
There are NO INSTRUCTIONS -
do they go to the "boss computer" and then? I just don't know and feel too stupid to say I'm not sure. It's probably very easy but, it's been years since I've worked on Networks.
we have netgear wireless router. plug in the line from the dsl or cable modem to router and line out to our reg pc. Our wireless laptop shows that there is a connection to our wireless network but will not bring up a web page. The line out to the home computer will not bring up a web page when coming out of router to pc or to laptop. Is it the router? we have powered it down and hit the red button on the back to reset router but still nothing, how do we fix the router?
Every time I try to connect to the admin page of my router, I get "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." This happens with FIrefox 11, and started when I upgraded to 8 or 9. A machine running FF 3.6 does not exhibit this problem; I get right in. What IE 9 says is "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" (after complaining about the expired certificate).
I ran Wireshark to see if I could learn anything, but all I could figure out was this: https handshake was OK. First TLS packet is received by router, which then immediately issues a reset and ends the connection. I don't know why.
have I got a screwed up configuration (or router)?
I trying to portforward on my WRT54G2 router but can't access webpage because I don't know the username or password. Is there any way to find out the password and username
I have installed my E3200 downstream from the Verizon FiOS Actiontec (going the other way disables FiOS functions). 1. My browser can get to the E3200 (192.168.1.2) when connected via wireless, but not when connected via ethernet cable. 2. When going to connect wirelessly, the 2GHz connection is visible but the 5 GHz connection is not (I have them named differently). How do I see both wireless connections?
WRT120N router: After several hours on the phone with Technical support I got nowhere. Guy had me putting in "admin" in the user name then the PW. I kept getting the 401 authorization required message. After all that I reset my router and used the disk to setup again. After that I went again to the 192.168.1.1 and got the request for authorization, entered admin in the PW and it does nothing, just reloads the request and browser keeps connecting. I have WIN 7 HP, use Firefox 5.0 mostly, but tried on IE8 as well and it does the same thing. I am attempting to open a port.
I own a wireless WRT54G, which has worked fine in the past. After setting up a new wireless network, I went to the router webpage to open some ports. The problem with the page loading is that it doesn't display correctly. No clickable text is displayed on the top of the page or the side bar, so I basically can't do anything whatsoever to configure it. I've tried loading it up in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, with IE saying the page loaded but with errors.
I'm having some difficulty getting into the settings web page on my e4200 router while the modem is running. I can access it soon as the modem is turned off. Additionally I downloaded the Android cisco express connect app for my tablet which does allow me to access the router while the modem is switched on.
I have a continuing problem with my WRT54G2 wireless router. I set up my network, changing the password for the router, and I change the SSID, as well as the encryption password. When I set it up, and after changing passwords etc. I always log off, go back and log on, and it works fine. Once I set up the network, over time, I'll notice a device will no longer connect via wireless. When that happens, I try to log on to the router, and can not connect to the router using either Firefox or IE. When I try, I get Internal Server Error, or just nothing. I can ping the router, and if I run an IPCONFIG at this point, the default gateway does show 192.168.1.1. Every time this starts to happen, I must do a hard reset of the router. Once I do this, I can connect, and log on using the default settings, and re-set everything. This is a HUGE pain, as it takes a lot of time, and happens way too often.

Also the support site has been down for over 13 hours for routine maintenance service.
I'm trying to setup a DVR camera system and two web page server boxes behind a Linksys WRT54GL. The problem I have is that all of the devices want to use port 80 to generate the web page. Individually, I can get the boxes to work, but when I try to put it all together everything seems to fall apart. I've got to the DVR set to External port 80, Internal Port 80 IP address 192.168.1.254. The web page server box I try to set to External port 8001, Internal port 80, IP address 192.168.1.200, when I try to save this setting I get the error message Internet IP address and LAN IP address are in the same subnet. If I change the web page server settings to External port 8001, Internal port 8001, IP address 192.168.1.200, it will save the settings, but it won't work that way because it won't actually generate a web page when I try to access that port. The error message doesn't seem to make since as all I'm changing is the port number, not the IP address or subnet mask.
I have an EA4500. I am trying to block a specific site based on keywords in the webpage address. how to get the EA4500 to block sites with based on keywords.
I formatted my new 3TB External hard drive on my computer and it shows close to 3TB space. Now when I hook it up to EA6500 router, it shows on 746.51 GB total. I have latest firmware installed.
I have an EA 4500. Tonight I was trying to see what devices were connected. The window shows 0 devices connected, although about 20 devices are connected and working. When I click on "Devices Connected", I get the spinning wheel, and after multiple attempts by the application to list devices, I receive a message that the application does not work. I have the latest firmware installed. This is a recent issue. I have not made any changes to network configuration, nor to any of the devices that all have internet access. I will note that I did not set up a separate SSID for each band. But that did not seem to be an issue in previous months. I also cannot access the router ui from my windows 7 desktop. I can access the abbreviated ui through my Android phone. I tried connecting through smart wi-fi and by ip of the router. I just get the endless spinning circle of dots. I am running Windows 7 all up to date. All drivers are up to date.
I am trying to find out what devices are connected to my router. I have had some illegal downloading from my IP address but it has not been done from my computer. It is showing in Cisco Connect that I have 15 devices connected, I should have no more than 6 devices connected so trying to figure out who is connected on my computer.
I purchased my WAT54G a couple of years ago when I added a laptop, I have my desktop which is connected to DSL and a wireless printer and my laptop.A neighbor told me that I should secure my network as he has used it when his system went down. My son had added a P/W when we first set up the router.I have since found the NETWORK MAP on which shows all the users on the network and half my street is on there.I have again added a P/W how do I know if its SECURE?
I could get a list of clients on the E3200 wireless (or wired) ports. I have my E3200 setup as a WAP LAN-LAN off a switch and it is not the DHCP server on the network. I can see a list of MACs on the client list, but no client names and no IP addresses. They are definitely named and show up on the WRT54GL (DHCP and NAT) as devices
I'm not sure why the guest net work is unsecured. I would have thought that would not be an option but it is unsecured. How to secure the guest network [2.4 GHz]? Also when I view the guest list some devices stay displayed whether they are in the vicinity or even turned off. That adds to my paranoia with the guest network being unsecured. I also can't edit the screen names to know who the device belongs to like is available in "my devices", forcing me to keep a MAC address list.
why my SSID still displays even though I have the SSID Broadcast "Disabled" for 5 GHz and 2.4Ghz configurations. The name of my network shows full signal strength and a lock next to the name but I was under the impression if I have disabled the SSID broadcast it shouldn't show up at all and would force a user to manually input the network name when trying to connect to it. I have the router configured to only allow certain MAC addresses wireless access as well. Router is running Firmware Version: 1.0.03.Also, my primary computer my iMac running 10.7.2 boots up or is brought out of sleep mode I constantly need to go up to the top of my screen and re-select my network.
I recently purchased a Cisco-Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router from Amazon. The specs indicate it's Linux based: [URL] I checked other sites, and found the same claim: [URL] and [URL],But, to my dismay, when I was configuring and viewing the logs of the device.
I own a E1000 router that I use with several wireless machines. Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the configuration of the router by typing url...in a browser, be it wireless or weirdly. For example, Firefox displays "Connection has been reinitialized". Furthermore, when I launch Cisco Connect, it only shows the error "Unable to connect to router". I tried to switch my router off and on, but that doesn't work. Totally resetting the router solves the problem, but not definitely. Is there a solution that does not require resetting my router?
My guest can't use my wireless network and I can not add more devices like a ipad2. Got a new ipad2 for my son for Christmas been trying to set it up for Christmas, so on Christmas day I am not trying to do the set up. My problem is I can not get it to log on to the network. I have been putting in the same pass word all my other computers in the house use but it will not work...
My wireless router (E1000) was accidentally unplugged. Since then the wireless LED light doesnt come on and the router cannot be detected. All the other lights are on. I tried to reset it but I dont think it worked, since the power LED didnt blink as its supposed to do after holding reset for 10-15 seconds (or more!!).
I've been using the E1000 for months. I have 2 iphones, an ipod, a windows 7 netbook and a macbook connected wirelessly to it. It's been set at wpa2/wpa mixed mode all this time without a problem. Out of the blue: no wireless connection on any device. I restarted the modem, router, PC's, phones, etc. I've updated the firmware. The only way I can get a wireless connection is to use wep. How can I get the better security and speed of wpa2 back?
I am trying to access the internet with my ipod and it is picking up my wireless connection but it is asking for a password, how do I get my password. I don't remember seeing a password when I hooked up my router several months ago. I called Cisco for some technical support but they wanted money to get me and I am not paying them a dime.
I have a PS3, and i play allot of video games such as all COD game especially MW2. It says i have a strict or moderate NAT. My router is in the same room as the PS3, so i should have a Open Nat.Also i have another question, i bought this Epson printer from Best Buy, i was wondering if I can connect to it Wireless, but i think i cant connect to it wireless cause i dont see the WiFi Certification on the printer or anything hints that it can connect wireless
