Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT45G - Possible To Allow ICMP Ping Response

Jul 13, 2008

I need to remotely monitor a WRT45G from a remote host on the Internet. As such, I want to allow ICMP ping replies on the public Internet interface. However, I have found no feature to allow me to do this. Similar Netgear devices do allow this feature. I suspect the answer is, "you can't do that".

Here's the issue, I will have the router up and running with two laptops and an Iphone connected through wireless.

The connection will show still connected but I will have no internet connection. I haven't tried this wired yet. The only way I can resolve it is reseting the router on the back, restoring it to factory default. Which resets password, mac filter and all that jazz.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT400n Reboots Every Few Minutes

Check to see if there is a firmware upgrade and there is.  Well I updated it with the newest and only one out there.   I did the upgrade, said sucessful and now it will just random reboot or something........ every few minutes the power light starts flashing....... then all the light go out, then power flashes again and it comes back up.   I have tried many times to reflash it with that new firmware but no avail.  I wish I had the old firmware back because it was working fine till I did this upgrade.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G2 - Airplay Reboots It

I have an issue when I use Airplay through my iPhone4S, my router reboots after 30 secs or so.  I have a WRT54G2 v1.5 and the receiver is a Pioneer VSX-1021-K.

However, when I used Airplay through itunes from my laptop, it works just fine.  In addition, when I borrowed my neighbors router's(BELKIN) it was working fine also.  So this lead me to believe that it's my router that is causing the issue.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G - Password For Access Router's Web Utility?

Aug 10, 2008

I have tried multiple times to hard reset my Wireless G WRT54G ver.2 router, but have had no success. I held the reset for 15 sec, 30 sec, 2 min, etc and also tried holding it and then unplugging it and then plugging it back in. I've tried everything that I have seen suggested. My problem is that I don't know what the password is to access my router's web utility thing and I need to change the IP address. With every reset attempt, I hope that the default admin password will work, but sadly no.

Linksys WRT45G / Connection Going Off And On?

Jan 14, 2013

Recently I've been having this issue were my internet connection stops working and usually repairing the connection through control panel or unplugging the router and plugging back only temporarily reconnects me as in the next 5-10 minutes my internet is offline again. This is very annoying especially for online games as I have to constantly relog into the games. My router is a Linksys WRT45G and I use Windows XP Also on some days my internet actually works for a decent amount of time. Mainly seems to happen after I decide to play one of my online games although it has stopped working a few times even when I am not playing those games?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E2500 Reboots At Random Occasions?

Jan 1, 2013

I have a E2500 router that until recently has been working fine, the router currently will reboot at random occasions. I have tried resetting the router to factory defaults to test if the firmware was an issue but both the factory default and the most recent firmware build(1.0.05 build 2) offered on the download support page. I have tried 2 different AC adapters to test power and two different Cat5 cables so hard ware wise everything is looking good. I am concerned that it may be an issue still with firmware or with the cooling fan and the unit may be overheating.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160N Requires Regular Reboots?

Jul 25, 2012

So I have a WRT160N firmware v3.0 wired connection to my PC, and at least once a day my connection speed drops from 2mbs down to almost dial up speeds at 60kps. Just unplugging the router then plugging it back in seems to fix it every time.   I've contacted my service provider and they say there's no issue on their end, and since I don't get this problem when I plug the modem directly to the PC I agree with them.  I've done a factory reset and that didn't work.  I've gone through the FAQ and can't find anything useful in there.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Accessing Befw11s4v4 With E4200 Active

Dec 12, 2011

I have a Motorola cable modem with 8 port switch connected to it. I also have E4200 and BEFW11s4v4 connected to the switch. I  used  BEFW's ports mainly to connect my direct box and blu-ray DVD player to the internet in a different room.  I  noticed  a pretty good signal coming from  befw11s4v4. I would like to turn it off or use this wifi b, but I forgot the passphrase to it and  I can't install  befw11s4v4 with E4200 active. (192.168.1.1 is taken by e4200). How do I get to it  (befw11s4v4)?  I don't want to reset  befw11s4v4 because that would make its WiFi unsecured. I can use a laptop to install befw11s4v4 and change its IP to 192.168.2.1 for example, but I would like to be able to access both (E4200 and befw11s4v4)  from my desktop PC.

Can the accessing of the drive via the WiFi be done with adequate security. I would rather err on the side of caution.
