On my laptop, the wireless will show, "currently connected to my router", yet it says below, "there is no internet connection"...I have already replaced my router and modem recently..still no change...I'll reset the router and i'll have internet access for 30 minutes and it will log me off.
View 2 RepliesI have been having difficulty connecting to the internet at my new place, I'm starting to think that the network card I recently bought (D-Link DWA-552 XtremeN Desktop Adapter) might have a problem, but I am not sure. I am currently using my landlord's internet, so I don't have access to the router to turn it on and off, which Windows suggests doing constantly, but I don't think that's the problem because I have internet on all my other wireless devices (Phone, PS3, Xbox).I am able to see the router most times and connect to it, but I am unable to connect to the internet, the networking image in the bottom corner has a yellow warning sign. Also, after a certain amount of time, the wireless card is unable to detect any wireless signal, the networking image in the bottom corner has a red X through it. I disabled all networking interfaces besides the wireless card because of an error message that I thought may have been caused by it: "This computer is continuously switching between two or more wireless access points or routers", but disabling the other interfaces did nothing and the message still appears after troubleshooting.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI basically plugged it into my Verizon Fios router and downloaded the Cisco Connect application (since I have a macbook air which has no CD drive)
It sets up fine, I change my router name.... BUT at the end it says there is an issue of some sort. The Cisco Connect application reloads saying "repairing connection" but then does not repair it.
Not sure where to go from here. I also logged in to 192.168.1.1 but of course I do not know where to go from here. I also reset the router trying to start from new, but no dice.
My router was working till date. Due to some reason, I disconnected the internet cable and connected it. Only problem is that everytime I bridge the modem and hook my E4200 up, I cannot connect to the internet. If i connect my laptop directly to the modem, I do get internet but not through the router itself.

The computer will say "Connected, No Internet Access" In order to fix it I have to unplug the router and then plug it back in. This happens to any computer that tries to get online from a cold start-up. The router must always be unplugged, then plugged back in, then it will have internet access (and will generally maintain it throughout the session and even if the computer is restarted, i.e. warm boot). I have downloaded the latest firmware uprade.

But when I remove the ethernet connection, shut down and then start my system and then connect the lan, all the 3 browsers work fine. I'm noticing this issue after I've uninstalled TuneUP Utilities trial pack and/or after I've installed LABTEC wireless Keyboard and mouse. The setup process went smooth but even though I can connect to my network, I cant connect to the internet. I know my internet works as a direct connection through the modem works. I updated the firmware, I tried doing a factory reset on the router, basically did all the basic stuff that one would do if they had router troubles.

I get the caution symbol in the task bar with the network icon, and it show the "identifying ( mySSID )". I have to unplug the router for 30 seconds in order to make it work correctly. This router was just installed by my ISP the other day and its been acting this way since then.

I also have two laptops connected to the same router. The laptops connect to the internet fine but the desktop doesn't. I have spent over 9 hours on the phone with Centurylink (the internet provider); Netgear (the router) and HP (the laptop). Each one says its not their problem. View 5 Replies View RelatedJust bought a new laptop for my mother - a Packard Bell Easynote TS with Windows 7. Attempted to connect it to our home's existing router, but have run into problems.We have two other computers in the house, both linked via ethernet to the router (a Netgear DG834Gv5) although one sometimes goes wireless with no problem whatsoever. I have been on various forums to find ways of solving this issue; I have turned off the router and laptop and rebooted both; I have checked at the router IP address to see if the SSID name is broadcasting, it is; I have added the correct MAC address to the access list as we are on WPA2-PSK (wifi protected access 2 with pre-shared key); I have tried disabling this security option in the hope it allows a connection but no; I have even tried copying the existing network configuration from the laptop than can connect wirelessly and via USB stick pasted across to the new laptop, this also failed to work. I have also been into the Device Manager to check the network adapter (ATHEROS AR5B97) is working properly and it has the latest drivers installed - it has. There is no yellow warning symbol on it. When I run a diagnostic check it results in: "Investigate router or access point issues."
Booting up the laptop reveals that there are wireless network connections available - the home one. It has a good-to-excellent signal strength, radio type = 802.11g, the SSID is showing. But when I click on 'connect', it brings up: "WINDOWS WAS UNABLE TO CONNECT TO [our SSID]"When I connect this new laptop using the ethernet cable that I sometimes run my existing laptop with, it connects to the internet with no problem at all, so it is definitely just a wireless issue.The only thing that I am aware I haven't tried is to uninstall the pre-installed 60-day trial of Norton which some suggest may block the signal (is that right?) but I have temporarily disabled it and that did nothing.

Yesterday, out of the blue, my laptop stopped connecting to my home wireless signal.It detects the signal, but when I click on it to connect (something I shouldn't have to do, as it is configured to connect automatically), I get a message saying that it couldn't connect and suggests that the signal strength is low.I know that the signal strength is fine as I am connected just fine on my work computer.I can plug my laptop into the router using a cable and it connects just fine that way, so the only problem is with the wireless signal. I have restarted the computer, modem, and router, to no avail.

The issue is that now anyone using the wireless signal can't connect to a shared network folder that they were previously able to connect to using the old router.
I'm not able to log into the old router to see any of its settings. I do have access to the server that has the shared folder - I just don't have any idea what needs to be set in order for the N900 to allow me through to the shared folder - whether it's on the router side or the server side.

I've just installed a new wireless router (Netgear wgr614v9), but I'm having trouble getting an Acer Aspire 1 (with Linpus Linux) to connect. All other devices within the house can connect (iPod, mobile phone, other laptops), but this laptop wont.It was connected but it disconnected itself and now refuses to connect. Clicking "Connect" on the dialog does nothing. The OS is possibly the worse I've ever used, but there doesn't seem to be much you can upgrade it to.The router is protected with "WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]" according to the router setup, it's name is unique and password 8 chars long.

I tried disabling the power management option where it allows you to turn off the device to save power but it still won't automatically connect to my network. I have to manually remove the adapter from the usb port and plug it back it for it to work again. I have a Flex 7500 with 200 1142AP's working fine in remote office and local setup. We have since purchased 3 OEAP 602's and looking to distribute to teleworkers.
I have configured the OEAP to point to the NAT'd IP of the WLC, the OEAP does connect and is listed briefly in the WLC wireless listing but I am not able to make any configuration changes, it will then dissassociate and try the join process all over again. I have attached below the OEAP 600 event log. I see that the WLC does not support data DTLS encryption and looking to make this work.
I have tried to install the DTLS license file from the Cisco website, but says license failed to install, with no other errors.
