Our security department has asked that the time clocks be completely isolated from the rest of the network. The time clocks will be administered by ADP via a centralized firewall utilizing NAT. We have multiple subnets available at each site. Let me give an example to calrify what I would like to do. Example: Site A has 10.168.19.0 /24 user subnet and is configured for VLAN1 using 10.168.19.1 on the router as the default gateway. I would like to use subnet 10.168.20.0 /24 for the time clocks, configure it for VLAN2 and use 10.168.20.1 as the router gateway address for VLAN2. This should allow me to NAT one of our additional public IP addresses to the 10.168.20.1 gateway address thus completely isolating the time clocks from the remainder of the network. Problem is I have not done this before so I'm a little confused about how to configure it in the Cisco 3750 switches.

The server has two network cards. eth0 has a static IP 10.0.15.250, mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 10.0.15.254 (the gateway is a firewall connected to the internet via an eircom modem in bridged mode) eth1 has a static IP 10.94.238.2, mask 255.255.0.0 gateway all the cameras and related equipment are in the range 10.94.238.1 ~ 20 Customers network users what to view the VMS via an application which needs to run on their PC and connect to the VMS server on 10.94.238.2, The customer has given me a gateway address of 10.94.200.1. However when I use this gateway address in the default gateway of eth1 I loose internet access on the server because the server can not resolve the DNS address. The cusotmers users can see the VMS and the monitoring station can see the VMS via a VPN. However I need internet access otherwise Teamviewer will not work and I can not access the server for configuration and maintenance remotely. Is there some other way I can implant the customers gateway so they have access but I still have internet on the server.

Looking at pcaps, I don't even see a tftp request going the server after the switch obtains an IP via DHCP. The config file format is exactly as obtained from the download backup section (pretty sure its not the issue since i don't see a download attempt). Also, the SMB switch is running the latest firmware image (1.1.1.8)
Looking though the admin guide i did not see specifics on how the DHCP server was to be configure for the auto configuration feature to work.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWe have a network in place. A week ago we switch to AT&T's UVerse and they replaced the Motorola modem with a Motorola NVG510 modem/router. There was a Netgear router behind the original Motorola but since we only needed 4 ports I pulled that out of the loop and used the Motorola. The three computers connected directly to the Motorola came right up. However, there was a switch with two computers connected to it and when the switch was connected niether of the computers connected to the switch would go to the internet. I took one of those off the switch and connected directly to the Motorola and immediately connected to the internet. Put it back through the switch and nothing.

I have a TP Link Wifi card installed in my pc.. i need to access the server using an ip through the ethernet cable. And i access the internet via the wifi device installed and running in my pc. the problem now here is that i cannot access both of the simultaneously. When I got my Toshiba, I couldn't connect to the router, whether from a new Internet cable, the cable the Dell uses, or the cable the HP uses (it works perfectly fine with Wifi). The next day I got up early and tried again, and it worked. The HP was turned on, and it connected. But then the Dell wouldn't. Over the next couple days, we realized the problem was that the router only allowed the first two computers that were connected to it to connect to the Internet, but not the third one. The router itself allows eight cables to be plugged into it at a time, so I don't see why it's only allowing two computers, whether laptop or desktop, to connect. 1. From PC to Router
2. From another PC to router
3. From TV to router
4. From a Dlink Powerline Adapter to Router.It took me a while to figure this out but when I unplug all the eithernet cables and plug back in #1 and #2 (from above) the internet works. When I plug back in #3 and #4, the internet dies. Meaning, I am connected to the network but not the internet. I've reset the modem, changed SSID and restarted the PC many times but still can't figure out this issue.

I've a wire connection with desktop (RJ-45 port) not USB AND MY PPPoE lights never lit. originally when i entered the gateway 192.168.1.1 it asked me for username & password, since i didn't have the password at that time i tried to reset the router but after that when ever i entered 192.168.1.1 in the browser it never came up with the option to enter user name & password. I've checked all the wires are also connected. I tried prompt command and it showed that timed out thrice and then sent= 4 received= 0 lost= 100%. I had D-Link router prior to it and later connected the D-Link router an i was able to get connected to net and browse normally.
